I just want a Hulkbuster that's slightly bigger than the average MU Hulk.

Il Cattivo 09-27-2015 03:00 PM

has anybody here ever thought of customizing a figure to increase their height by giving them some leg extensions? been contemplating whether or not to do it to colossus. doesn't seem like it'd be too hard to do. just need an extra colossus figure, an x-acto knife and some super glue.

And it's nearly an inch taller than the TIH steel beam Hulk, so it's good no matter the Hulk you're using. Even if it does give you lead poisoning.

Yea I agree in that movie there seemed to be no limit to his growth. I seriously thought he was gonna go Godzilla by the end.

I got two, one for Rulk, but they're expensive. Them two cost me $60 shipped.

It's in the comics pre-Ang Lee. They kind of overdid it in the movie itself, but more or less that part was comic accurate. That's an element he was trying to emphasize in the film. It's something Peter David played with during his 90s run too and why the flipped dynamic of hulk's anger making him weaker became entertaining for chunks of that comic run. Instead of getting stronger when he got mad, he got weaker, to the point at a certain level he'd turn into Banner but with the savage Hulk persona.

The stronger he gets does sometimes cause him to bulk up more. It depends on the situation, we've rarely seen him pissed off to the point there would be a noticeable difference except for World War Hulk. It's a visual element to the madder he gets stronger he gets aspect of his character. It shows up sporadically in many early comics too. Usually focusing on stronger muscle growth, but the same element applies to that. When a muscle gets bigger it gets bigger. His bones have to follow suit to keep him balanced otherwise he'd be a glob of muscle that can't move because his bones would shatter under the tension of his muscles surrounding them.

MUfan97 09-27-2015 07:28 PM

I personally just use the newer mold MU Hulk since it's a great figure. There are some articulation, sculpt, and height issues, but it's worth it. I've only got the grey version at the moment, but the paint and sculpting detail is insane.

Do you do all of the photography AND PS work yourself??

Did you recognize the inspiration?

That's an understatement! I love other Marvel characters too @Universe but really identified with the X-men in the 90s when I was collecting. I only recently got back into comic collecting (2 years ago) and started my MU figures collection this year.

Thanks @Pilkster! I appreciate the feedback and I'm glad you're trying to up your lighting game. Can't wait to see what you produce!

Looks great @UrsaMagnus!! The MU figures scale so well with some of those bases that you can put the Danger Room pieces on the side so they lay down longways for more depth.

Anybody have any good suggestions on what to use as a stand-in for Ursa Major? My Winter Guard is in desperate need of his presence on the shelf. :-(

Movie Apocolypse looks more annoyed than evil.

Awesome shots!

I was thinking of using a Papo or Schleich figure - they both do detailed realistic animal figurines.

Simon Garth or Baron Mordo?

Kickstart my heart:
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects...-action-figure

I realize this bad boy is more compatible to MU then MU but I didn't want the opportunity to go to waste and there is 37 hrs to go. So support it if you want more to come I figure. Me, I am totally selfish bc I want it to add to MUniverse so show some love and dollars so we can add more of these bad boys to our collections.

And Mods, if I am breaking a rule on this please have pity on me, I really want this plastic crack.

Psycho Pirate 09-28-2015 08:54 AM

I love the sculpt on that wolf.

Has anyone seen Ares @ retail? I picked up mine on-line. Target, TRU have the same Marvel 3.75 peg warmers that nobody seems to want!

UrsaMagnus 09-28-2015 12:30 PM

Generally I've given up trying to find new figures at retail. I just get everything from BBTS these days. Far less hassle, stress and wasted fuel.

Eh, I'd probably relegate that one to Snake Eyes.

I hear ya - so many peg warmers these days. They might get one good batch & when they're gone, you're out of luck.

My day of glory is finally upon me. You've convinced me to open my MOC Masters of Evil set. But, how do I open it correctly so that I can repack them and preserve the box?

If you have a hobby-knife (like an exacto blade) then you can just cut the tape on the side and open one end, then just pull out the tray and remove the bubble holding them so you can pop em out one at a time. I've done this with my team packs boxes and I don't really know why except that I like to keep the cosmic looking inserts for pictures with figures.

My Tiger Shark would not come out of the plastic tray because his fin is immobile and sits outside of the tray while the rest of him is inside - I had to cut a slit in the plastic. Beware of that.
