Dubs I feel you on that...
It sucks that our fav line is ...almost dead. Luckily for me..even though I've got a LOT of MU/MI...there are still a bunch i dont have that will keep me casually hunting/looking for awhile..but when it's complete then...yeah **sad face**
i like the legends but i'm WAYYYY too far behind to try to catch up on those...and i buy them sporadically ..here and there...PLUS..they take up a lot more room which i am def short on.

Exodus 09-29-2015 11:17 AM

Yeah this line is slowly dying out, they barely breathe any life into it when they do...

Il Cattivo 09-29-2015 11:33 AM

tbh I kinda want this line to be put on hiatus for a while, that way I can focus more on older stuff I missed.

Here's to hoping that the comic packs and Lockjaw type packs will reinvigorate the line and maybe one day we will see another 70+ figures in a year like in 2011 and 2012

I would gladly take a break if they would return the quality and articulation

Yeah those were the golden years. I'm swaying more into TF's now a days...and I wish they would make the cards better.

Kamatayan 09-29-2015 01:12 PM

The lack of articulation int he MI stuff isn't killing me to be honest. Everybody's really negative about the line losing quality that I feel like nobody is getting hyped about what is to come. For Christ sake, the new comic packs and everything are coming out! I can't begin to describe the hype! I mean, at least they're making comic packs again. In my book, that's a huge plus! Also, I don't know about you guys but every time a new wave drops my Target is full with it. The whole last wave was everywhere!

And, I agree with KDub. I'd gladly take a break is it meant we get better quality later on. In fact, I could start filling the holes in my collection during the break instead of worrying that everyone might snag all the news waves!

It's funny i NEVER really paid attention to HOWEVERMANY POA's the figures had PRIOR to being on this site.
I mean..I'd notice maybe this one had more joints..but honestly never paid it much mind.

...and...WHAT NEW COMIC PACKS??!!!?!?!

I feel the exact same way. Literally, the exact same way. I would never pay attention unless it had 5 POA prior to being on this site. And just like you, I'd probably notice if one had more joints than the other, but that would be it.

Also here's the stuff on all those comic packs. Some ML stuff might appear on the first link but if you go through all the images you will start to see all the upcoming MI stuff. A new Vision, Morbious, and a lot of cool comic packs are coming.

just scored these at a lcs.

http://i1255.photobucket.com/albums/...psp5b0nooe.jpg

cable and scarlet spider were $10 each and avengers box set $20.

kylactus 09-29-2015 02:56 PM

I think the outrage over articulation comes from the fact that it was taken away, If the big time spidey buck was the first figure we got people would have loved it, but whenever a company back steps with quality, innovation, or offerings it's noticeable, couple that with a price increase you have a perfect storm of piss off. 3 years ago I was getting card art, stands, accessories, quality, variety, and articulation for under 10 bucks. now 13 bucks gets me much less of all those things. I just wish we got Bishop with Vonner at the helm, I guarantee we would have gotten a better sculpt, less cartoony paint, bigger arms and likely a variant.

LCS? Also, what is this Ross that everyone speaks of? What is the full name of the actual chain? I've heard nothing but good things and I figure it's time to check it out for myself.

EDIT: Umm, why is it upside down? I thought that the only upside down one's were the Hasbro variants.

Hit up my Ross today, they also had the MK1 and MK3.

Kamatayan 09-29-2015 03:41 PM

I have a lot of money for someone my age from my birthday party. Any suggestions on any stuff to get for this scale involving Marvel? I'm ruling out solid Vision since I pretty much don't need it since the new Vision is coming out.

kylactus 09-29-2015 04:07 PM

LCS is local comic shop, Ross is a discount store like Marshals or TJ Max. that is the upside down scarlet spider, him Spiderman from wave 2 or 3 MU and beast have all had upside down variants. If you have a wad to blow it depends on what direction you want to go with your collection, maybe get a Legends BAF Apocalypse or Giant Man. if your looking to knock out some rare 3.75" figures go with original Havok, astral Strange, or a Deadpool Taco truck. what is your favorite team or character? if it's something or someone that they don't make invest the cash in honing your custom skills, or buy a top shelf custom off a pro.

and, of course happy birthday bro!

Food is probably scarce but you can still get really jacked if you work for it.

I've scored some great stuff at my closest Ross in the past but stores like that are always tricky, no guarantee you'll find anything just because another store had it.

Kernel 09-29-2015 04:36 PM

^ ross is hit or miss. I have enjoyed some great finds including those wooden comic cover prints.

I'm excited about the new comic packs too. I am worried that the Hyperion 2 pack will kill sales tho. Hyperion is a peg warming champ here. That's where I think media exposure is a little over rated. Hyperions been all over the cartoon and comics but he doesn't sell too well. Meanwhile deaths head hasn't been in anything outside of some comics that I know of and I've never seen him peg warm (available sure but he sells). Sometimes I think the coolness factor is underrated.

Nice score! I'm holding out hope that undercover assault set shows up here too.

MUfan97 09-29-2015 05:14 PM

My two cents about articulation: That's what got me into the line. I'm not taking less without a serious fight.

[Start rant/]
This is so very true. I lurk on the site alot but this is my sentiments exactly. I always have felt that the best part of collecting is going on the hunt. With the way things look at brick and mortar retail, it has taken so much away from the actual fun part of this hobby. I am willing to pay a buck or few bucks more at retail because I enjoy the search. I enjoy finding the bounty. But when you travel to the same stores time and time again only to find the same stuff clogging the shelf. I have hit the same Toys R Us about 1 every two weeks for the past year and I can guarantee that I see the same figures lining the shelf as I did a year ago.

I collect MU first and foremost but have expanded back into GI Joe with the lack of MU news. I collect the original trilogy Star Wars Black series 6 inch and I dabble in WWE. I understand that we live in a world where scalpers will always get their first as they have connections with the workers but the fact that there are never any scraps left over to get just defeats the purpose of going to the stores. Either my TRU doesn't get the 6 inch Star Wars figures ever or the scalpers buy the entire box from the back room and then returns the Greedos, Slave Leias and Episode 3 Obi Wans that they got from other stores at 1/2 off. I have not seens any of the blue packaging figures in the wild. They are 4 series deep in blue packagaing and I have yet to see any of them.

We never saw wave 2 or 3 of Avengers Infinite. We never saw the middle waves of MU's end - the Kraven, Professor X, Scarlet Witch, Angel, Kang lines. But when they do get Waves in, it is always months after they have hit retail stores in other areas and I have gone the online route for fear that I will not see them in the wild. If only I waited 3 months I could go there today and pick up the 13 Beasts that litter the shelves.

I got back on the GI Joe train after finding my collection of 25th and 30th anniversary figures while going through my Comic/Figure room. I got all excited that there was going to be a new wave of figures hitting shelves. The newest waves of 3 packs and 2 packs are released as TRU exclusives. Can I find them in stores? No. Why? Because there are dozens of 2 packs fromt he first wave that landed 8 months back.

It is depressing that the combination of scalpers and lack of distrbution/bad ordering by stores(? im just trying to give the stores an out) has ruined the fun. Will I continue to go to stores to hunt? Of course. But I will never not be prepared for figures that I need to own in my collection. I will always go online for this.

{/End Rant]

Hooray for us collectors who keep this train moving! I am excited that there were figures announced at SDCC and will be more excited if/when we get more news at NYCC. Hopefully we continue to see new product no matter how shotty we think the product is, some of us just like having new product!

High Fives all around!

K Dubs beat me to it but the ML figures are on sale for cheaper! Half the regular price almost.

MU/MI is stil my favorite, but trying to ride it out until something changes is getting painful. If we only see 3 waves a year I really don't know what we will all be discussing soon...

And I may be alone is this, but I am not even close to the current run of Comics and the fact that next year will be almost entirely filled with secret wars and new stuff does not impress me at all. The only new stuff I'm interested in is MCU and that is the only reason why im swimming in Legends at the moment

I've tried to get into some of the legends stuff, but I find I just don't get the same thrill from the legends as I do from the 3.75" stuff.
As for the newer comics, I really like anything at marvel from johnathan Hickman. I feel like I need to go back and read all of his marvel stuff.

Also just finished up my quick and dirty Shang chi revision, figure I'll follow kylactus' lead and keep the thread going with some pics:
