For those looking for the Disco IM and War Machine Legends 2 pack, the page is up on the Target site. DCPI number is at the bottom of the page.

Man...i really really REALLY don't like that cat version of Beast...in comics...in figures..in ANYTHING..and that middle figure
in the yellow...UGGGGGHHHHH....I've been consciously trying to refrain from talking overly negative about figs that people
may care about...but that thing is gawd ugly..lol
i want the classic...and i want that Dark Gear..but not the cat faced one.
it is amazing how some of those figs have really held up for this long because SOME from that era were not so great...
I just got that Cyke in the mail two days ago..

@DTL No worries man. Just because you're not a fan of the look, doesn't change the fact that both X-Men Classics versions are still good figures. I used to have the series 4 Beast as well as the variant "stealth" suit Beast, but my series 4 broke at the hip a LONG time ago (it had those DCUC style swivel hips,) and as I mentioned, I was just never into the "Jim Lee" look for Beast (the Wolverine styled swept hair, the elf ears, the toothy underbite with huge jowls.) Those are good figures as well, especially the series 4 if you can find one in good condition.

I know I'm in the minority when it comes to being a fan of cat Beast, and initially I wasn't a fan (I thought it was too "Disney" when I first saw it) but it was Wheeden's run on Astonishing that really made me fall for the look, as it capitalized on Beast's phobia/distain for felines, and it added up for both some cool and hilarious moments (the image of Emma being able to distract him with a ball of yarn always makes me chuckle...)

Depends on the artist, some have drawn him having a belt, others have not. Just Google Juggernaut and see how many images pop up featuring with him with a belt. The previous Legends version of Juggernaut featured him with a belt as well. I'm not sure if you have the Juggernaut BAF, but the belt is removable from the torso if you prefer a more classic look to Mr. Marko.

man...i dunno WTF is up with Target and their systems. I also visited 2 stores on Sunday that showed the DCPI for Xmen..but they couldn't find them...or said they cant' sell them until the 1st.
One guy told me to go to this other store where they were...I get there and the guys says several other people came in and asked..and they don't have them/can't find them/ cant sell them..blah blah blah..

I stumbled across a Walgreens near me that i forgot was close..they had a BUNCH of Legends..various waves. Two Black cats..and when i was looking for Black Cat I couldn't locate her so I bought it online. I KNOW i've seen Toxins around over the last month..I'd have to think where. I never liked that one so I never picked it up. I still need Carnage.
..and it goes without saying..especially to my peoples on here or people I've dealt with (purchase/trades) if you see me mention something i saw and you want me to grab it just hollar...
Actual price and actual shipping is what it'll be...I'd want someone to do the same for me.

Yeah, that was a great character. I loved the crossover with Spidey, Brett Booth is an excellent artist.
Technically (Legaly?), Backlash is still part of the DC universe, but...
Seriously, it's a total waste the Wildstorm characters are not more in focus.

Nash and Kain, i definitely feel your hunting woes. there are times i go to numerous stores hoping to find SOMETHING new, and i usually 9 out of 10 times end up walking out empty handed, with less time, and at least a quarter tank of gas or so gone in this hunt.

I've been on the prowl for a Panther ( no pun intended ) lol and i usually can't even find that particular wave anywhere. I get very sour with these stores and their lack of the latest toys, when i see usually everyone on here posting what they found at their local XYZ store....

At this point since I'm starting to order more stuff online in cases it's not so much a hunt for something as just seeing what's out there, and what I may pick up on the fly.

The only thing that I think is out (i've heard it's out but I'm still not sure, I think it's a unicorn at this point) is the TRU 3 pack with Kate Bishop. Toys R US always give me exactly what I expect with that though - nothing.

Besides in busy life times nowadays I'm only doing a "hunt" about once every two weeks, and mainly then it's just to hang out with a long time friend of mine, who while has gotten out of the collecting hobby, still has an interest in seeing what's out there. To me that's more of the purpose than finding something. If I find something in the stores that's just a bonus.

My promise still stands though if I see a BP out there, I'll pick him up. I know he's still much in need and I have no idea how shipping of that wave is going to go at this oint. If it's going to show up massively in 2-3 months or just never make it out of the warehouse and continue to be scarce at retail. I mean, I'm sure Hasbro had a normal amount of the figures produced and I'm sure they don't want the product to just be produced and never shipped.

Have you tried read a dc comic in the last few years? They have no idea how to retain continuity....much like fox xmen movies. ;)
Personally i say they should give characters like the wildcats backlash bloodshot etc ( badically wildstorm who they do nothing with ) back to image....god i miss grifter and the gang.

Yea see i never wanted that entire wave, only Nick fury and panther. i just don't see it being worth it buying an entire wave unless you want damn near all of them.

Right, I hear you. That wave I did not preorder online but I have all three of the ones past that (Space Venom, Juggy and whenever it does ship Abomination).

The Giant Man wave though, it's like nothing I've seen before as far as Hasbro distribution goes. It's one thing for a particular figure to be short packed and rare, but this is an entire wave. It reminds me of the Toy Biz days.....or maybe the Walmart exclusive waves for Nemesis and Ares when I am not sure Hasbro knew what the hell they were going to do with the Legends line. Certainly like nothing we've seen (or not seen ha!) since the rebirth of legends.

TheSerpentKing 07-28-2016 01:18 PM

I've seen the Giant Man wave once in my area a few weeks ago and it was at a Gamestop. I distinctly remember them having Black Panther. Sadly I didn't have the money for the figure at the time so I passed plus I thought the wave would start showing up elsewhere. Sadly that has not been the case and that BP plus the entire GM wave was gone 2 days later and have not seen any since. Found a few Namors at Walgreens but passed till I get some more cash. They were still there as of yesterday. I get the feeling Namor might end up being a peg warmer (at least in my area).

Actually in my area at least, I've found some of the better ML as well as Star Wars Black Series figures at Gamestop's as of late. They have a 3 3/4" Emma Frost on clearance for about $8 which I may pick up if she's still there.

you might be right about the rarity of that wave..... not sure why we all can't find it maybe it is scarce or maybe the stores just arent ordering it.

The Collector's Vault arrived today.
I might be stating the blatantly obvious, but Lockjaw and Cosmo don't fit with 4" MU. They fit with ML 6", quite well. I'm aware that Lockjaw sometimes gets drawn ginormous, but I'm glad is not too big, so it can just about fit on my FF display.

I go to the one about 5 minutes away and their scanners say they don't have the wave even in the stockroom.

Target #2, which is about 15 minutes away says they have them in the stockroom, but can't find them, and they have already done their reset.

Target #3, which is 45 minutes away, in the crappy neighborhood, has done their reset, but says they won't be selling them until Sunday and that I was the tenth guy in today looking for them.

WTF???!!!!

Comic Talk:

So I finished reading The Fall of the Mutants today.

X-Men arc - This arc was very slow moving but the end result was quite good despite it getting way too convoluted. I liked seeing the X-Men finally be shown the heroes they really are and I did find the stuff dealing with the Trickster interesting. On the other hand, I don't understand how Storm lost her powers nor do I buy that her powers just genetically stopped working because she didn't want them anymore, but the overall plot dealing with her journey was an enjoyabe one. I kind of wish I could get the aftermath issues now to see what they do since the world thinks they are dead. I do wish there was a little more with Sinister in this though. The Hulk side story was nothing but filler, but it was entertaining filler.

New Mutants arc - BORING!! The story got a little bit better as it went along, but as a whole, it was bland. The whole Dr Moreau plot didn't make any sense at all and it didn't leave me wanting to read anything beyond it. I am curious about the stuff dealing with Magick though as she was the best character in those issues. I will admit I did get a laugh out of the McDonald's stuff in there. On the other hand, Magneto felt very out of character to me.

X-Factor arc - I have mixed feelings on this. The stuff dealing with The Right was mediocre, but it probably would have been improved if I had read this series from the start. Scott is very incosistent as one minute he is pinning over Jean and then the next he is all depressed because he thinks Madelyn is dead. Alternatively, the stuff with Apocalypse was well done and now it pains me that he didn't even have his damn ship in the recent movie. I completely forgot about that. I loved finally reading the first appearance of Archangel as he was always one of my favorite X-Men when growing up. The rest of the Four Horsemen were average and the side stories did nothing to help. In fact, I felt the side stories were kind of boring. The Power Pack one was down right terrible while the Captain America one was mediocre. It wasn't terrible, but I didn't feel like it accoplished anything nor did it really have to be a crossover when Famine just teleported away and nothing was every accomplished. The DareDevil story was the best of them as I liked how it was just showing some of the impact of the battle was having on the citizens of NYC. Although, they seemed awfully quick to assume the world was coming to an end when this stuff happens on a regular basis. The Fantastic Four issue that takes place during the aftermath was pretty awful too. Obviously I have no idea what is going on, which didn't help. Why is there a female Thing? When did Sue get black circles in her hair? Why was Doctor Doom kicked out of his country by a Doom impersonator? You know what, I don't really care because this doesn't even feel like the FF to me. Where is Reed in all of this?

Oh, I forgot about the side story with Hulk earlier in the arc. That was good although I'm trying to figure out how he got across country in the span of one issue. Wolverine met him in Dallas and then he is suddenly on the other side of the country for the X-Factor in the span of what seemed like a few hours.

Overall, despite the negatives, I enjoyed reading this story arc because when it was good, it was really damn good. There are things that would have had better context to me if I knew everything going on beforehand, but that is okay. That is the nature of reading older comics, it is nearly impossible to read everything in order.

Time to journey backwards in Uncanny Omnibus Volume 1!!

Yeah my Targets are still swimming with old stuff hope they get rid of them, and my TRU's are swimming with the first wave of Captain America still.

With the comic talk you should try reading the other X-Titles like Necrosha and Second Coming those are great.

And just stop with Second Coming, TBH. Because, and i realize this is just my own opinion, I can't think of a single storyline in ANY of the X-Books that were anything more than mediocre past Second Coming (the start of Bendis' Uncanny and ANXM were probably the "best"). and a lot of it was just bad. With the except of the New Uncanny X-men run by Cullen Bunn which is now the only book I'm reading and absolutely fantastic.

They're both technically small for use with 6" figures. In his first appearance Cosmo is a full grown Labrador who goes up to around Nova's face when Nova takes a knee to greet him and he goes up to just under Nova's waist (around his thighs) when Nova is standing, he's also all around larger than Rocket Raccoon since dogs are bigger than raccoons. Having this figure with the 6" Legends makes him look like a 6 month old pup who's still growing. Lockjaw is pretty much always a giant, it's the rare exception when he isn't, but the figure fits well based on those instances where he's just a big dog and not a giant dog but standard Lockjaw is massive and stands at around Crystal's height while being as big around as the Thing. Lockjaw can work better than Cosmo but both were made with the 4" scale in mind and it's where they better fit.
