I consider 3-5 to be a goon squad,or strong front line defense, but when you get into 10+ that's an army.

On a semi-related note... just cancelled my All-New X-Men preorder with TRU. I got it at the $120 price point, but after staring at the images, I just couldn't get over the price, and I decided to make my own customs of the team with recipes I'd actually be satisfied with (at less than half the cost of the set, I might add... lol). I want the team to look more like teenagers, and the base bodies Hasbro chose for the set were all wrong for that.

Awesome collection, love the customs and the display set up.

So up here in Canada the ML X-men box-set went up for pre-order on TRU for $99.99.

Here's a link: http://www.toysrus.ca/product/index....uctId=31915366

Something fishy is going on with TRU and this set.

At 100 bucks I'd buy these, but I would reconsider if it's higher than that. +20 bucks is just too much imho.

Serious Lee 02-02-2014 09:38 PM

Good news, mostly.

I'd like to get this set to keep my ML collection up to date, but I'll want to punch myself for paying this price. To me, I could buy 5 Black Cat's at Target for this price and hold 5 times the trade value. It's only an opinion, but the Thunderbolt's set was and is better and the only reason I see in getting this box, is getting it at all. (Ugh!)

After being courted by Hasbro with more good meetings than bad, I'll consider this a bad date that I was obligated to show up at. Curse you Hasbro!! (Mostly kidding....mostly)

... total cost of "my" set of All New X-Men figures once completed: $44 for 2 Superior Spidey bases and fodder for the rest. Suck it TRU. Should have all 5 done some time this week. =)

Tiberius 02-03-2014 01:00 AM

Thats great dude. Well done.

okay so did you get two for $44 ? or five if five great but if $88 for 4 then averagely + 22 is about $110 figures (Rough prices) so you might save $10 - $20 maybe on them depending how much figures you got. i'd say you've beaten them at price , by the way your going you've beaten them at art more or less although be nice to have the x-men belt like the classics but it shouldn't cost much to do ? Keep up the awesome work but the belts vary on what art style your doing ?

If I needed 5 Superior bodies and got them for $44, that would've been awesome! =) But no, I got 2 Superior figures for $44 at Target at their regular shelf price. Honestly, I could've not spent anything and used all fodder parts (I'm going to make another Cyke and Angel from the old Young Avengers Patriot bodies that should nail the old-school loose jerseys art style!), but I ended up wanting to use the Superior body to emphasize how much more appropriate it would've been for the TRU set. When it last listed, the set was at like $139.99 I think? That ridiculousness makes even $110 seem like a deal... lol. The new Spider-Girl body would probably be the best modern ML base for Marvel Girl, but lord knows how much it'll cost to get one of those.
As far as the belts... still debating what look to go for, but probably something really basic like the attached image. Ultimately, I think everyone deserves to be happy with an X-Men set they're going to pay over $100 for; it just comes down to either spending that money on bases you prefer and making them, or taking what TRU puts out and trying to be satisfied with it.

Tiberius 02-03-2014 03:00 PM

Man, if the 5 pack used those bucks, I'd probably get it.

On that note, the Sabretooth/Hyperion body for Beast is also ridiculous, and the Iceman body is outdated and not a good look for him. Height wise, the team is supposed to go tallest to shortest from Cyke, Angel, Beast, Bobby & Jean. The TRU set misses that scale mark completely and makes everyone look like they're in their 30's. lol

Tiberius 02-03-2014 03:27 PM

I am so happy to hear that I am not the only "scale nazi" here

warmachine6 02-03-2014 04:18 PM

lol i think i know how to sell toys
its about £20 quid here in the uk
so £100 fir five seems slightly fair
but to gain more ish money i'd probably go for £80 or £90 for five new moc figures

behindthemask 02-03-2014 04:43 PM

I came across a Mcfarlane Spidey, he has 2 broken fingers and some paint issues, anybody able to help a brother out with some repair work, pm me.

Tiberius 02-03-2014 05:38 PM

I would of passed, unless it was free.

Free is good.

avcprime 02-03-2014 06:49 PM

OK so I bought the Marvel now cap, but the figure seems smaller than the previous legends line. Is it just me, if not I am mad at hasbro because they increase the price and keep decreasing the product quality. I mean how small will Iron men get in the future? where they will look funny next to Toybiz Iron men.

BoNKerS 02-03-2014 08:11 PM

Hey Everyone, I'm kind of new here but just started collecting Marvel Legends! I've only collected Transformers... Until I bought this a month ago. Arch Angel...

I have then purchased more Iron man figs... Ill shoot them soon... but oh man... I cant stop! haha

I really need Carnage in a bad way...
Crappy part is TRU in Canada are charging $26.99 for the new Spidey and Cap Series figs...
