Rebranding is what has kept transformers generations figures flowing in perfectly too. They've gone through even more rebrandings than MU has. From classics to now.

Every legends wave of the 6'' is technically a rebranding. (Each wave tied to a movie or other strong media connections helps push merchandise to retailers.)
Now MU is going through another to evolve with the brand to keep it going strong too. What's the problem with that?

And I can't say it's ever been hard to google the brand name either. Never had that issue on not finding the images I was looking for in relation to this line.

Toy Biz era is a smart thing to mimic. It wasn't until Toy Biz changed it up to inaction figures with heavy accessories that the lines started to tank. In fact they bought themselves some time from going belly up by re-releasing the old figures under a new heading with different paint apps. If these means back to the days of Toy Biz where it was 5-6 waves a year of 5-6 single carded figures, I'm all for it! Looks like a complete revival of MU underway tbh. Better card art, comic 2 packs are coming back, and the new figures are gorgeous as well as diverse. A little from everything Marvel. Heck, they've even now caught up to releasing all the figures from a spider-man game! Shattered Dimensions has now got all 4 protagonists in figure form! That's a store exclusive waiting to happen now.

It just seems to me like they don't have there shit together on this line. first, you rebrand when a line is dying, not when it's taking off (or when your trying to kill it). second, if you remember back to the later toybiz days, when we got SHS, there was a lot of confusion, on the part of the consumer, and retailers because the line was also officially Marvel Legends. That's why 90% of people that bought SHS figures got them at KB, no major retailer ordered them! Plus, like Transformers, a random rebrand gives them yet another opportunity to repack again and again. and third, Legends is not a rebrand every time, it's always legends, with a different theme wave to wave, from MU to MI to what the hell ever were calling it now there is no consistency to tie it all together on the 3.75 side. you may think it's "evolving" but I think it looks more like regressing, followed by an "oh shit we went too far! give them some card art" mentality. Forth, I'm guessing you have absolutely no clue why ToyBiz went under? I'll give you a hint, they were very profitable for the company they were under, the problem, the parent company went bankrupt in the 90's and had to sell off some of it's parts to stay alive, and keep printing comics. and last, Marvel Universe is literally in the company's logo! it refers to everything from cloths, to toys, to comics, cartoons, movies, and every other product in the world with cap's shield glued to it. I would just like a less nebulous name to make it easier to search on Ebay, as is if you refine down to MU in Toys, you still get Hot Toys, Toybiz, and some random stuff, but if you put in Marvel Legends you get legends from the past almost 20 years, and SHS, and now our line too. and you think that's not confusing?

Captain Nash 10-08-2015 06:42 AM

Nice and pretty pictures, but still going to just get Captain Marvel. The rest are easy passes for me.

K Dubious 10-08-2015 07:00 AM

While I think the new cards look great and I am absolutely ok with them looking like smaller Legends clones, but come one why call them legends... I know it was announced at SDCC, so it wasn't like we were blindsided, but call it something else.

I usually search for 3.75 when looking for our stuff, but that is only effective when the seller or OP calls it that too. Calling everything legends to me feels like a cheap attempt to make the line seem more profitable than it is. I can see next year them no longer separating the two and saying, "Look how well our legends sell!!"

What would be the coolest thing ever? If the rebranding means that next year each legends line is released in both 6" and 3.75" and they are literally the same. Like we get scaled down accessories and BAF parts. That would seriously make this line the best thing Hasbro has produced.

kylactus 10-08-2015 07:03 AM

simultaneous release! brilliant. seriously though, if they did release the same figures at the same time in the two scales I think a lot of people at Hasbro might get upset if say, the 3.75 line sold out and the legends peg warmed as they tend to do.

I've thought about that before, too. And I agree it would be awesome. No more, yeah we got "insert character" in this scale so we can see how awesome it could be, but we're still missing it in the other scale!

UrsaMagnus 10-08-2015 07:18 AM

That would be nice. It'd shut up all the whining on both ends of the spectrum if nothing else.

I love that Onslaught! I have the ToyBiz version because he was always one of my faves. I was skeptical until I saw that original helmet so props to Hasbro for knowing what we want and taking more of our money.

I think these are your best yet! Love that last one with the Deadpool swag; great pose-work.

Thanks for the support @Universe! I'm pleased with how these shots came out too. Check out my inspiration.

Looking at the new MI/ML stuff. Are we officially calling it ML now? Anyways, I'm REALLY happy about this. It seems like Hasbro is getting their shit back together. But this might mean one of two things. They finally care about this line again, or they're softening us up for its death.

I am without a doubt pre-ordering this wave.

Kamatayan 10-08-2015 02:33 PM

I ordered the bootleg X-Men Origins 3.75" Deadpool weapons. I really can't wait. Speaking of orders, my huge package came. Hopefully, I'll be able to post pics later.

I'm not sure but it might be like 15". Speaking of Igor, is it true that there was a 3 3/4" Igor armor that never got released? If so, can I get pics?

Il Cattivo 10-08-2015 03:45 PM

they're 6".

and yes there was an igor from the assemblers line that never got released.

man part of me wishes I picked up more of the assembler guys. not the greatest figures ever but they are great for beefing up your ironman armory.

I don't care WHAT they need to do...WHATEVER it takes to keep our Marvel 3.75 line flowing!! I'm with it. But I could seriously go for the "Mock a 6" line"

and @ Mutantkind
again...awesome work man..

So you'd rather beef up your armory with scraps rather than meat? The cow of action figure collecting frowns upon you.

Hopefully, your bootleg is more like the Figma my brother bought(not knowing it was so. It only shows in the eyes and close inspection of the packaging), and less like...the Mr. T car that I've seen around the internet.
