Are you more worried your figure is an actual bootleg or just a factory reject/second? I think UKMU has gone through the differences between the two in this thread waaaay back. Most likely, a true bootleg that was not made in an official factory wouldn't have the Hasbro copyright stuff on it.

3.factory makes extra (think bakers dozen)
4.factory then sells the bulk remainder in large auctions
5.small (but still big buyers to us) buy figures in bulk to resale
6.we buy them, and love them or don't and complain.

I want the gold Ultron too especially given the movie, but I get releasing Northstar and even Cologgernaut first because they count as new characters.

Also, regarding conflict in the middle east: it's no particular group's fault, the middle east has been host to conflicts since religion. The British hurt matters back when they drew up national borders for the region that the locals disagreed with and America made it worse by trying to police the area while simultaneously arming the groups.

That was some pretty good timing, perhaps Mr. UKMU himself has a moment to drop some knowledge?

But if I remember the jist of it was that Hasbro contracts these factories to make a certain amount of these figures, so after that quota is met rather than shut down operations they keep going until the end of the day and take that surplus to auction houses to offset production costs. Many times those figures, often considered bootlegs because they don't come in official packaging, are of the same quality as what we can buy off the pegs. This is what can be found right now on ebay from the likes of viperskingdom and so on. Many collectors don't consider these figures bootlegs, more like factory seconds or sometimes even rejects with 2 left hip joints or whatever.

An actual bootleg (to me, anyways) would be any figure that comes with a flashlight in it's chest or some similar gimmick in which it can be classified as something other than a toy to avoid copyright/trademark laws.

But UKMU definitely knows more about this stuff than I.

Despite they're huge spike in popularity, I don't think anyone loves the Guardians enough yet to make a whole Knowhere dio.

I still can't believe that kids these days are talking about the Guardians as if they're Spider-Man. With Phase 3 coming up there's going to be a huge shift in terms of which heroes kids praise now. I remember when I was 6 that I was ranting to the bullies in my school and that they weren't true Marvel fans because they didn't know people like Strange and what-not. I heard about all the lesser known guys from my brother and some old Marvel sticker-books. They recorded the whole rant and it's rotting in someone's DS to this day xD

Just think about it. Kids running around with Captain Marvel and Doctor Strange figures. It will be a whole new age.

In volume 2 they just mainly used the teleporter room and hanged out in the bar a lot, even when we were first introduced in Nova vol.4 it was mostly just hollow head space. When we do get a look at the rest of it it's mainly just like a big market place. Knowhere is their base of operations but it isn't really their team home or whatever it's just where they plan most things, not like how the Avengers, X-Men, and Fantastic Four all have buildings completely to themselves.

Side note: I didn't like how in vol.3 whenever they were in a bar Star-Lord would try and hook up with whoever he could but in vol.2 he was usually sad (about the universe being constantly in danger) and pretty collected, he would be the reasonable member at the bar.

He is a kit bash from Thing, some flames and a repainted movie Skrull. I got him in a trade for our Giant Man baf figure. I still miss that figure.... Need to get the new Legends one until I hit the lottery and get a proper baf one again!

Yea I figured with all the different star wars figure and other line one could make a small flea market type of deal with the guardians and a boatload of different aliens and robots as the "common" citizens of knowehere.

As for starlord changing it could be the way to show him dealing with life in general. Realizing that crap is gonna happen and you might as well just have an f it additude rather than a sad depressed outlook. Or the writers were forced to make him less mopey

It's been so long since I got mine I can't remember which seller it was, but I can tell you the picture was of Hulkbuster in front of a beach scene. I bought 2 from the same seller and they were both problem-free. Paint might've had some very minor issues but nothing deal-breaking, and neither had funny smells like I've seen some people talk about.

Best of luck on that gal, man. She's a grail figure for most, myself included.

@ deathofthelines yes that's the guy lol. Speaking of 1/12 scale I stopped by TRU and saw a 1/12 scale tie fighter. It was laughable how friggin huge the package was.

That spear is from the gi joe outnumbered rock rampage/rock viper figure. I'm not sure why I gave that to the swat member, I think I had him fighting a zombie or something.
