LOL i ate burger king a couple years ago and shit for three days straight and haven't been back since. I'm sorry man i saw a dude with with the entire wave at Target and he was saying how much Deadpool is going for on ebay and he is putting him on there to recuperate most of his money he is spending. he said he didn't even like deadpool anyway or Rogue. I almost said then why the hell are you buying them ha.

Meh... reading reviews and looking at pics of the SDCC set, I've decided to try cancelling my order with HTS. Not worth it for 2 figures I'm only semi-interested in. If cancelling doesn't work, I'll put it up here for MSRP+tax/shipping for anyone more interested in it. =P

Well the problem with a "perfect" sdcc exclusive is that if it's too perfect it's gonna necessitate a wide release. I think a 90's x-men would be a fantastic box set, but likely has too much mass appeal. I know it's been kicked around a bunch, but I think Alpha Flight would be a great exclusive. I'd personally like to see an annihilators set.

If hed have said that to me, man i dunno. I mighta just diesled that bitch and took deadpool jst on principle. I mean its one thing to get em all and hook up a friend or something with ones ya dont want, but to basically just say yah im scalping em....its like dude get a f&$kin' job. Not everyone can afford scalper prices, nor should they. Reseller scumbags. :)

SymbiSpidey 08-09-2016 03:58 PM

I think the best way to go about SDCC boxset is to take The Raft/Book of Vishanti approach. It should contain characters that will see a retail release, but just have them in different costumes or alternate forms (like a Wonder Man in ionic form). It'd be a good move to do something like release the Fantastic Four at retail in their black/blue costumes and then have an FF boxset where they're wearing white/blue or something, then throwing in a Dr. Doom with battle damage. Everybody gets a chance to have a full Fantastic Four team, but people that purchased the exclusive boxset get to have a different version of the characters.

Yeah it kinda pissed me off but I didn't want to fist fight a guy on a target toy aisle LOL. This was about a week and a half ago. So no telling how much he got for it.

Because public displays of violence are always the best way to settle grievances over the hobby of toy collecting, natch.

When it comes to scalpers....yup. ;)

For future SDCC, I think very left-field characters like, Dragon Man, Awesome Android, Eternity, Madame Web, Red Ghost and the Super-Apes or Celestials, which, let's face it, probably are not mass market appeal.
On the other hand, some horror stuff like Son Of Satan, Lilth, classic Blade, Satana with horns, Morgan Le Fey, Umar, etc. (Not counting Dracula, as he should be ok at retail).
Or Classic scenes with 4 figures (which can also sell at retail), but adding a diorama or backdrop as the exclusive...
Well, I can dream...can I? Etc.

Man, that makes me wonder about the possibility of an Inferno set - Madelyne Pryor (in her Goblin Queen getup) with Baby Nathan accessory, S'ym, N'Astirh, Darkchylde Illyana, and Mr. Sinister (in a darker deco from a possible retail release). Definitely a bunch of characters that likely wouldn't see retail shelves, eh?

If anyone is interested (doubt it, but hey, free FYI =), HTS will cancel your order if you email their customer service team.

Veronica Mars 08-09-2016 05:54 PM

The X-Men wave is hitting pretty heavy here, every store I've checked has had some of them. Usually DP, Cable, Rogue and Wolvie are gone. It's surprising, usually we don't see anything new until months after everyone else is tired of seeing them

This is a surprisingly good wave, for someone who isn't the biggest Spider-man or Venom fan. Silk and Electro are my favourites I think, but they are all nice. I love Bartons costume and look but I wish she came with some alternate heads, and the same goes for Silk. I almost like the BAF enough to check out his comic.

Sweet pictures my friend!! I am really looking forward to Electro and Hobgoblin. Probably should have picked up that Venom in wave 2

Has anyone found the ML Falcon and Winter Soldier Walmart exclusives on the east coast yet? I'm particularly interested in GA. I know the Target exclusive War Machine and Disco Iron Man just released last week. Haven't seen any signs of the Walmart exclusives though and wanted to see if they've been seen in the wild yet. Thanks!

The head from the Ben Reilly Scarlet Spider is a perfect fit, no modding needed and doesn't wobble, but the problem is, that it's WAY to small in terms of scale for the Hyperion body mold that Venom is based off of, which is a shame. It makes Venom look like the shrunken head guy from Beetlejuice. Since most of the modern Spidey heads are all based off of the same mold with subtle differences and are sized nearly identically, you will probably have to go with a custom casted head that's upscaled.

It might be possible that the Marvel Select Spidey heads might work, but it's a more expensive piece to get a hold of, and it likely will require a bit of work with a dremel to get it to fit, if my past experiences with using Select heads on Legends bodies holds up.

Wouldn't that body be too big though? Whenever Mac Gargan was doing the "Spider-Man" thing he wasn't as big and ripped as like the Sentry or Brock Venom, he was about the same size as Daken and Bullseye. There are moments where he stands next to Moonstone and isn't terribly larger than her. The Carnage body would actually better fit the proportions we frequently saw Dark-Spidey with.
