It's astonishing how loose Wolverine is. Just look at how many children from different women he's got.

Mines not that bad but I know what you're talking about.

So I don't know if this has been brought up or not, but with the MarvelNOW(Marvel's answer to DC's New 52, without all the retcons) stuff coming in Oct. with Uncanny Avengers #1, could they be taking the MU line closer to that direction too, hence the "Not Marvel Universe as we know it"

Calling it Marvel NOW! and giving it only modern interpretations of characters would be weird.

I could see them doing it for synergy and brand refreshing including packaging shaking up, but it'd be smarter to build on the already established "Marvel Universe" brand name since the Disney marvel block is even named that.

Then again, this might be a change that'll sweep through all of it too.
The tv block changing its name when the new avengers toon hits. Other shakeups from what they've learned from this year(like no more mashups, more real shorts, and better variety of character coverage on the fury files segment, maybe even have it repeated so it's 3 characters covered per block). Which means the figure merchandise would have to follow suit for better recognition to being tied to it which could also act as a bridge gap with the film figures so both give exposure to each other.

This could actually be the over all plan...
Oh who am I kidding. That would mean Marvel actually makes smart business moves.

Speaking of the toon block. They do need to shake it up.
Besides what I said above. They should make a sunday night one opposite adult swim. Make that one uncensored episodes and more adult oriented shorts, while the sunday morning block is the censored episodes and more child friendly shorts. This material would also allow them to expand the fury files segments as the video material for character coverage would be more varied and larger. Which in turn would make more figures move as recognition of them will become more widespread.

Maybe they're going to call it Marvel Universe Now! ...? hahah~

Read this article and look for characters under Sony or Fox, and those are the characters I bet we don't see much of. There's something in Jeph Loeb's tone when he talks about the Avengers movie that makes me think that not only will that be a focal point, but so will Marvel making money off of Marvel properties.

Today at SDCC talked to the lead designer and artist of MU and ML. Both said MU will be around for a long time. And they have no intention to cancel anytime. They said both lines are very profitable. They also said they are putting tons of new figures in the case tomorrow after their panel. Now stop it with the silly rumors. I told you guys it was a bunch of worry over nothing.

Love what I'm seeing so far, though its a tease. Elektra,Mysterio,Inhumans,Rogue, new Rhino, rumors of Abomination. Man, I'd say the line is far from dead. Now if Hasbro can just fix their distribution so we can get all this lovely plastic goodness.

jjk1120 07-14-2012 08:12 AM

This is very good news.

Iceman 07-14-2012 08:40 AM

Can't wait for news from the panel today.

D00MTR0N 07-14-2012 08:52 AM

so wait, any new figures wont be displayed until sunday?I thought they would be put out today.

decepticon_mark 07-14-2012 09:00 AM

New figures will be shown tonight. I believe Sun. is just the prototypes.

Trainwreck 07-14-2012 09:04 AM

The panel is at 4pm. New figures will be on display at 5pm. If anyone can tell me how to start some sort of instant stream of photos (is that what instagram does?) i will upload photos from both.

if new figures are being shown at 5,what was all that stuff we saw the other day from the MU line ie the new 2 packs and single figures?alot of them were new.

Those are going to production now. This other stuff is still in the development I'm guessing and further off.

Trainwreck 07-14-2012 09:22 AM

Um... It was some of the new figures. Read my post above stating that they saved some to reveal at the panel (if they didn't people wouldn't care about the panels much).
