Lizard and Mysterio look really, really good.
|
hasbro messed up, they didnt even take out Black panthers female bodyguards. lame hasbro, just fucking lame! ...im pissed.
|
Lizard looks AMA-ZA-ZING. Mysterio is a much needed upgrade. X-23 looks sharp with that angry face, though on the limited SG body, easily mod-able though.
JJ in her Jewel costume is SWEET looking. I approve the reuse of Silk's head. |

So now that I have time to think and process everything, watching that Hasbro panel kind of sucked. I'm not sure if it was the dude who doesn't understand how to properly record something (your phone's screen flips for a reason) or if it was because it was hard to hear the panelist, but it was a let down.
All I wanted to hear was "We are doing a Giant Sized X-Men Box Set," OR "First Appearance Storm," and I would have been jumping up and down in extreme excitement. Nope, Hasbro couldn't be bothered to do that. Anyway, my thoughts on the reveals: Defenders 4 Pack - Cool for those that have been wanting this. The DareDevil does look nice, but I'm not buying an $80 set for a figure I already own. Hydra 2 Pack - Also cool, just not sure I really need Hydra Soldiers. Black Panther Wave - Why the hell are Black Bolt and Namor part of a Black Panther line? Shouldn't this wave be full of Black Panther characters? How about a new version of Klaw? Deadpool Wave - As I previously said, Cable and Domino are must buys. Deadpool, maybe. However, just like my complaint above, what does Deathlok have to do with Deadpool? Did they ever even cross paths? X23 makes sense, but unless the BAF is a must own, I will only be getting the initial 3. Spider-Man Wave - Lizard is a must own, so I'm all in this entire wave, which sucks because Lasher and Gwenpool suck and I couldn't care less if I had Spider-Punk. Mysterio though is like OH MY GOD HE IS FREAKING AMAZING!!!!! Hasbro already went beyond my expectations for him. Of course, now the question remains, who did Lasher replace from that original rumored list? Noir, Spider-Girl, Prowler, or Demogoblin? Hopefully it's Spider-Girl. Mr Fantastic - Awesome. So glad they are including regular arms with him so that when the bendy wires break I don't have to worry about floppy arms. Medusa - Meh. I could barely see the picture of her, but I'd only get her if I were to get Blackbolt. Toy Biz Packages - I'll pass on that Black Widow. For one thing, I prefer her costume from the motorcycle pack. Secondly, I'm getting the motorcycle pack. Spider-Man is a pass since it isn't a Ditko or Romita one, and I don't really have a need for that Punisher. On the other hand, I want the unmasked Wolverine head, so I guess I'll be getting him. I will get Cap because I want the new deco and it will be nice to finally get a comic version if Iron Man (and he does look really nice). Motorcycle Packs - LOVE THEM!!! BW is gorgeous and I love how accurate Ghost Rider is to his comic colors. Not to mention the bike is bad ass and I believe Hasbro said the flames are removable. Apocalypse - OH MY GOD HELL FUCKING YES!!!!!!!! I can't wait, but couldn't they have shown me at least one figure from the wave? Also, the wait time to get Apocalypse is going to be apocalyptic. He's another 14 months away. UGH! Oh, but what was up with the lack of the Avengers announcements? |
Wow, Mysterio is reaching critical levels of beast mode!! Those new effects are slick!
While it's not the version of Laura that I wanted, I can't wait to get her. She looks fierce. Hope she comes with an alternate unmasked head, when she's not posed slicing and dicing. |
That is it? Really... not one single mention of anything for 3.75" collectors from the panel? Not anything?!?
I'm a sad collector.....or rather just a sad person. I would have to have something to buy to be a collector. All we got were SkittlePools....... the equivalent of Charlie Brown at Halloween, "I got a rock." |

2: Articulation is admitably an issue with some of the latest releases, but as of 2016, some of them make up for it in terms of good paint work. Plus, I find ML's constant cycle of the exact same articulation on every mold to be a wee bit boring. 3: Again, a legitimate issue, but not a major one. MUs also have the advantage of being sturdier even on their worst days(seriously, I've had some wobbly MLs), and being way more space efficient. Having owned many Bionicles myself, I cannot express enough how much of a blessing that is. ML has some advantages too, but I generally find them to only be good in pictures, and the suggestion of merely switching from the line that ignited my love of action figure collecting to a line that I find to be of far less quality is quite honestly offensive to me. This was the point I was trying to illustrate with my original comment, but it clearly went over your head. |

Thanks for this info. It was more than many other places have given. Did they have any pictures of the 12" deapools? Or Apocolypse? |

I wouldn't be surprised if she's the swap out figure so they can do her All-New Wolverine figure too. Wonder what the BAF will be. Kinda surprised they didn't do a figure of Deadpool's wife either. Namor is in the Black Panther wave because of his attack on Wakanda. Though I am surprised they didn't do more villains from various comics and his various costumes/versions, including Shuri as the Black Panther. Seems like a wasted opportunity for a lot of product that'd catch attention for sales. His retro Panther bike would have been neat too! Vintage Toy Biz is definitely an odd choice for 6''. The majority of those figures are smaller than MU/MI/1:18th Legends. That's why I was mis-sizing them myself. I have the original spidey and cap they had on display for comparison, and by size comparison from those, it looked like the vintage were the 4'' figures with upped articulation and accessories. Even Deathlok's MI figure is taller than original Toy Biz. Though those two are closer. The original figures like cap and spidey were smaller than it. Nice to see them trying to find a way to get 6'' legends out though at hopefully a cheaper price. Don't expect the line to move otherwise, or really at all anyway. Too retro of a market already over-saturated with many of those costumes. The novelty factor is limited too. 6'' vehicle line is interesting, but seems like it'll be pricey when they get to the other vehicles outside of the various motorcycles. Kind of wondering if they're intentionally trying to over-saturate the 6'' legends figure market with retailers to cause a mass overstock syndrome for some reason. |
Surprised no one is enraged at the lack of a Thanos copter around here...
It's so essential to his character. |

Ironic day. The line that killed 6" is being killed by 6". |

I will stick with the mother scale. I am 3.75" lifer and I am OK that some people don't like it. I do. I like playsets and vehicles (other than a motorbike) and am.Just fine where I am at. I don't feel the need to "upgrade" or be talked down to.
Even you guys have to miss the big 3.75" diorama displays at SDCC? That was cool stuff for everyone to enjoy. US not getting anything new I mean nothing except for a pack of Skittle Pools is sad. We all collect Marvel stuff and can show appreciation to each other and apathy to us, the 3.75" collector. You have to admit, we got the shaft. |
