Day 3:

The figure set went in 90 seconds. The set with dio went in 135 seconds. There were actually a handful more of each today, because of cancelled orders from yesterday.

Ok, now Im fuckin pissed. Had the TMNT set in my cart, everything autoloaded so I'm checking out. Firefox crashes, then I get it back up, and everything is auto filled but not the zip code? Wtf? I type it in, check out, TMNT set sold out. What the actual fuck man... I get screwed by the internet...cool

Neca,to stressful. I have no idea how,but I managed a $250 set of turtles.

I am so sorry to those that missed out. If I had more funds I would have tried for a second set and sell it at cost. I feel the playset was the way to go because the other set sells so fast. I also never entered that don't lose your place in line page. I want the Hawkins figure bad but I am done for a bit. This was to much to go through. And yes I feel happy I have it....but not as happy as I would have expected....I am truly sad for those that missed out.

I understand the limitations by Neca on this set....I don't have to like it.

Im not even really mad at NECA, it's more of being mad at my computer, I mean everything was autofilled out, then internet crashes, then re autufills everything EXCEPT the zipcode, and in the time it took me to manually type it, shit was out of my cart. This was at 10:01, I just flat out got screwed. Glad you were able to snag a set, glad someone got one that's been struggling to like me. I actually got Hawkins, cuz I got that bad ass Dutch from last years Con, so I'm glad I got something at least. I'll get over my first worlder problems here in a bit.

Bleh, missed out again. The dumb shipping method was loading too long and I think that's how I missed out on getting a set. Oh well, hopefully with the people who end up buying them at the con they will sell them on ebay and then months later they will drop in price and I can get me one then.

After 3 stressful days, I finally got a TMNT set. NECA really needs to overhaul its ordering process so it's not a race to enter a credit card # during checkout before your cart items sell out. I just wanted the normal turtles set, but it sold out while I was checking out for the third time. Luckily they still a diorama set for me. So on top of the agitation, it cost me over $100 more. It doesn't sting quite as much considering ebay has just the turtles for as much as the diorama.

Stupid loading "in line" screen messed me up every time. I went though the last payment step too, with everything preloaded, then back to NECA and... SOLD OUT! I had the tablet and laptop both on order screens for a set with and without diorama. I wanted to try the creditcard, but it wasn't available beforehand when I had the Aliens set in cart to prepare all info so I tried paypal. whatever...
I never missed out ever on mattycollector ever since 2008. But the Hasbro SDCC exclusive G.I.Joe's was the worst ever because the site crashed constantly. It was impossibly difficult to order those SDCC from Hasbro. It was hell trying to get Zarana and Jinx and I missed out on the others.

This NECA order was just a lightning fast sell out. The website was fast enough, no complaints at all on NECA's end. The "low" production run is such a shame for NECA, fans, casual buyers and retailers because these are such amazing pieces.
Too bad Playmates has such a hostage on the brand and can only produce low quality kids toys with a bunch of missing paint apps.
I will boycott any new Playmates toys they will make from now on.

If there is one to blame for not getting a set through NECA, blame all the hype and the publicity this set received because it's an amazing set.

Anyone who thinks the wait game to lower prices on these Movie TMNT work; remember the SDCC Videogame TMNT sets are super niche and those blocky computer prints on them make them not cool IMHO. Therefore it has a lower demand. The SDCC Comic TMNT is somewhat niche along with the older NECA Comic TMNT. Some of them have bootlegs available as well to lower prices a bit. BUT the Fred Wolf Cartoon TMNT are higher in price and won't go down; they only go up in price! Especially the Foot set because some people are content with the Figuarts TMNT but want the accompanying Shredder and Foot Soldiers.
IMO the SDCC Movie TMNT set is similar to the Fred Wolf Cartoon set in popularity; maybe even more so because you have movie buffs that want the set as well.
The Fred Wolf cartoon and the Movie are the best and most nostalgic Turtles sets which are most well known.

I caved in, had a HUGE fight with my wife over it but whatever, my nostalgia addiction won even if I can't take it to the grave...
I went ahead and paid $240 shipped for a regular set of the NECA 7" Movie TMNT on ebay. It's $60 a figure. At least I paid with paypal credit which gives 6 months time to pay. Time to sell some of my old toys on ebay to justify it.

Missed out as well.. lol. 3 strikes and all that.... :) Hopefully I can grab a dio set version at SDCC.

They're based in NJ right? Kind of odd they don't do anything for it. Maybe because of Toy Fair?

I think it’s because they are such a small company that really doesn’t have their own in-house Toy line or brand, they have to pick and choose which to attend. They deal with licensed products only, so those generally sell themselves. Toy Fair they get to tout their regular wares, and sdcc they get to have a little fun with the fans. Sdcc hits the most people out of all conventions that I’ve ever attended. If they could only pick one, that’d probably be the one.

Happy to say day 3 worked out better for me. I was lucky enough to buy myself a set of the 4 without the diorama. Got nervous when the shipping costs wouldn't load, but it finally went through.

Not quite the right place for this but whatever happened to those DC/Alien/Predator sets NECA announced and then said were gonna be a comic con exclusive? I can't seem to find the thread pertaining to it haha

For those wanting the diorama but unable to get the boxset+, I got a response from Neca on the diorama. There will definitely be a non-tmnt release, but they don't have a timetable or price. Can't go by the boxset price minus turtles, because it doesn't count for a mass production release.

Hopefully, fingers crossed, the non-tmnt mass release will be $100 or less.

Just wanted to post this because I've seen a few dioramas going on ebay for major $$$ without the turtles, and I don't want to encourage paying scalper prices for something that will be mass released sometime soon.

Eagerly anticipating my set. I have some regrets about not going for the diorama version, I would really like the rooftop display not only for the Turtles but my marvel legends and other figures. Hopefully it is not too many months before another release becomes available, maybe even through Target.

just got my shipping notice, USPS! They are shipping out of California, so I should get mine on Monday!
