You know what, no, that's not cool. If it was announced a week ago and there was a literal countdown timer, then you could maybe say "it's totally on [him]"

I worked night shift for years and the only time I'd be up before 4pm is if there was a funeral. People have jobs where they can't use the internet. People have lives. Has our hobby seriously become so encompassing that you look at someone who missed a multi-hour preorder window because they were having brunch with their kids or taking a well-earned nap or watching a movie or celebrating a friend's (or their own!!!) birthday and think:

"Yeah, that person's an idiot and shouldn't get this figure, serves them right for not living and breathing on toy sites"

Nah, but in this sci-fi computer age of seconds or minutes-long sell-outs, multiple hour windows of availability are practically a mercy.

Fwiw, some of the big toy companies do seem to be making a quasi half-assed effort to address availability. I think Todd and his team probably do keep the complaints in mind based on how the company has evolved over the years, even though they’re ostensibly still well behind the curve in many aspects of production and distribution.

I'm glad it was up for a few hours at least.

Unfortunately, I have to work so exclusives are pretty much impossible for me to get. Can't kick out the patrons to go order toys.

Gotta love people who revolve their lives by being online 24/7 and doing nothing but waiting to bank on pre-orders that you know has a 50% chance of messing up. Thank the Olympian gods I don't share that kind of zealous passion with those freaks.

I think this is a pretty lazy variant. You wouldn't even be able to tell if Flash was in the box in a standard way. It's not like a alt head situation but I don't think this figure really needed to exist.
