It's crazy to me that folk love this wave so much. But, more power to ya! The likenesses are fantastic and the figures look great.

If they redo that Freeze solo with actual paint and wash on the silver parts, I'd consider. Not a fan of the mcdonald's toy level situation going on there now. Head looks great.

That paint job is incredibly reminiscent of the Kenner version, TBH. I plan on chroming the silver plastic anyway, so I'm not too miffed about any of the shortcomings, I'm just glad this figure exists. The pauldrons being backward on all the promo shots is funny, though.

Thanks for this tip. It's tempting, but I'm probably gonna roll the dice on this wave and try to get most of - if not all of them on deep sale. I don't want Batgirl or Ivy, just the BAF.

Also for those interested, the Batman Beyond Vs Justice Lord Superman 2-pack is down to $31.99 on Amazon

You can bet if it happens, it'll be a Gold Label version of Mr. Freeze. And if done right, it would be in a set with Bane and Poison Ivy in her other outfit.

deecee4 11-09-2023 01:08 PM

B&R is one of those movies I've seen in piecemeal viewings but never in its entirety. But yeah, these figures look pretty good I can understand why people are excited for them.
Edit: actually I phrased that wrong. Seen it in its entirety but never in one sitting.

RodimusZX 11-09-2023 06:14 PM

As much as I love this wave, and I guess I'll be "that collector", but it's a shame they didn't give Batgirl her points to maatch the others... I mean, that was basically the theme of the whole film--overtly sexual leather suits. They're also visible in all her shots in the film.

I am absolutely going to give her and Freeze their nipples back. Pin vise for him, a dollop of resin for her.

I hear you. I (FINALLY!) just managed to get my hands on Knightfall Batman thanks to a friend in the US, and my God, what a beautiful piece of plastic. :thumbs

I take it you'd have preferred something closer to the concept art... :;)

According to the costume designer, they were meant to be "heroic." :p

It cracks me up that Batgirl's costume featured a sculpted bra over sculpted nipples.

Too bad they couldn't get the cowl to stop pulling out Alicia Silverstone's hair, though.

I'm stoked for Captain Carrot.

ThorOdinson123 11-10-2023 08:40 AM

I'm glad the rabbit is a collector edition figure so he doesn't take away from the main line. I still can't get over he is getting a figure before so many DC characters that should already have figures.

deecee4 11-10-2023 09:00 AM

I'm all for a Captain Carrot figure-even this modern iteration. But unfortunately, dont see a lot of people wanting it, so probably first & last time for him.
For whatever reason anthropomorphic rabbit figures seem destined to languish in perpetual markdown...looking at SW,Motu and the recent Bucky O'Hare figs. No one seems to want them lol.

StudioOneTwelve 11-10-2023 09:38 AM

A big old WHY for the Superman Collector Edition. Why is he so Giant??

Prob just a gimmick. Looks like they reused the DKR body with a new mullet head.

I don't know where you got the link and promo code like I don't even care I just took advantage of it and getting this entire wave for under $100 really just made my (early) Christmas! Bless you!!!

Tarkin 11-10-2023 11:30 AM

not trying to throw cold water on this because I know its a BAF, but for $25, why no alternate hands? No batarangs? That is Marvel Legends value right there.

Almost. But in order to be real ML "value" everyone would use the same smooth buck.

I kind of want to paint it. A lot of awesome texture to mess with, and as you said the head is great.

BB Shockwave 11-10-2023 12:55 PM

Captain Carrot was certainly unexpected. Pity he is hyper-realistic instead of cartoony. But at any rate, it is high time DC cared more about the Zoo Crew. Y'd think they would, considering how Marvel has been killing it with Rocket.

I see Plun-Darr going for quite the high prices on the secondary market - but then again, most of Classics does. They were made in small quantities and scalpers immediately bought them up.
Boss Fight has been doing well with Bucky O'Hare, considering they released not just the whole main cast but even minor characters like Fifi.

Then we can get into Forever, '89, Returns, Reeve Superman, all that good stuff. A wave of TV heroes with Shipp and Carter would be awesome as well!

Really? I thought nobody liked that movie, or the designs. Arnie as the tragic Mr. Freeze was an even bigger miscast as Jim Carrey as the Riddler.
And I am not kidding, I had a toy store in my vicinity where I could still find Batman & Robin toys (mostly Freeze and Ivy) even 5 years ago. (Also grabbed one of those giant 2002 MOTU He-Man figures super cheap).

Harbinger 11-10-2023 01:05 PM

Gawds these look like shit!

Its reputation has more or less successfully shifted into "so bad it's good territory" and Arnie is clearly having a blast which helps the fun factor quite a bit.

I'll never get people hating on Carrey Riddler because he was pretty much doing the Gorshin Riddler (and what monster hates Gorshin Riddler???) it was Tommy Lee Jones that was the real WTF choice in that movie.

snake5289 11-10-2023 01:50 PM

On paper Jones as a legit Two-Face would have been perfect casting. Problem is he seemed to have confused Two-Face with Joker or something because he sure as hell wasn't playing Two-Face.

Just looked up the new version of Captain Carrot, read the original series when I was a kid. I am still in shock at the thought that he got a darker, grittier re-boot... and the fact they are bothering with a figure.

ThorOdinson123 11-10-2023 03:36 PM

Can't get Zatanna to nearly complete my JLD roster but that goofy rabbit gets a figure. I swear if Z doesn't get made in 2024 I am gonna be really pissed

From what little I've read on the situation, Boss Fight Studios' Bucky O'Hare line was indeed successful, but they said there were difficulties working with the licensor (Continuity Comics). Unfortunately, they were not able to complete the main cast (still need Blinky and Willy DuWitt, and some villains) before the deal fell through.

deecee4 11-10-2023 04:07 PM

Hope you get a Zatanna someday but, at the same time it's very cool that an obscure character like Captain Carrot is getting a figure for the first time.
That's kind of what i like & dislike about mcf multiverse-when it comes to figures that arent Batman-character selection feels like a random crapshoot.
