When I saw him yesterday at $7, I wasn't gonna miss out! He's really far better than the Sub-T armor too. |
Have they announced who'll be in waves 3, 4, 5, etc?
|
"Rumored" or "Unofficial" for Wave 3 so far are Punisher (from Jim Lee Punisher Armory), Modern Blade, (rumored to be running changes of each other, Moonstar, Jim Lee style Jean Grey (again rumored to be running changes of each other), Updated Arch Angel, possibly a redone Emma Frost, and Stryfe (rumored to be the BAF)

score! so while i was picking up Frankcastle's Wintersoldier 2 pack i asked if they had any more legends in the back. guy said 2. brought out Thunderball and future foundation Spidey. Left Spidey and grabbed Thunderball to go with my Piledriver from Lord Marvel.

I am psyched for him. Would love a decent regular cap as a variant

Same here. It'd be strange if they didn't really, considering the Avengers should be out at the time |
Got my Zola today. Frigging cool. I love wacky mad-scientist designs. My MODOK should be complete tomorrow.

OOOooooooohhhh me wants US AGENT & Frankieee out of this wave!!!! Wonder what variants will out for this one?! |
Thanks for the answer. I ask because I'm really thinking about getting in to this line due to them being in scale with DCUC. I really don't like the looks of the old ones, packaging and the figures themselves. I think these new ones look really nice, but if they don't plan on remaking any of the classics, I'm not sure if I want to dive in.

Totally am! Now I need a regular black widow pack. And blue Ghost Rider
|
I will keep an eye out for you. I had an extra Blue Flame but sold him to my buddy. Some stores here still get a wave 1 case from time to time

I know it's a different co, and different times now, but any old school Legends collectors...
What are your thoughts on how distrubution might go with these? It sounds like a loaded question, but what I'm curious about is if they do revision waves of any sort? With MU they can just toss together any mix of figures and boom-revision wave (Conan reference), but since these waves are married to each other because of BAF's, are what we see in stores now it? Do they fire out cases of old waves down the line? I haven't seen a Wave 1 Legend in a good month now. They were all over.. now no where. Wave 2 rolled out only a few weeks after Wave 1.. where's Wave 3? It didn't follow nearly as closely as 2 to 1 did. I'm wondering if once what's on the shelves now moves, that's it (like what I'm noticing with wave 1), or if they might end up firing out old waves down the line. |
I wouldn't count on revisits with the newer Legends series'.
If anything I think Hasbro will adjust the production of current or tentative waves up or down depending on sales. Meaning If wave 1 sold out, wave 2 is strong, then the likelihood of wave 3 being a larger production run seems appropriate. So as a side effect, assuming my theory is sound, I would say Terrax would be a less common BAF as well as whatever BAF is the last one planned (as they would most likely lower production on final waves to prep for the next newest thing). This is all conjecture at this point mind you, just assuming a rational business approach. I did hear about an "All Stars" or "Best Of" run sometime during the Return of Marvel Legends series, but all bets are off as to what that means. New molds of fave characters? Rereleases of old ToyBiz/Hasbro molds? Reprints of previous waves without the BAF? Anyone's guess. |
Ok dudes. Is 100$ good for a case of series 4 toybiz marvel legends. Case of 12. 3 of each figure unless the chase figure is in it goliath.. dont know its a never opend case.. so ill have extras to trade or sell for a good price..
|
Larger figure lines don't work too well with revision cases. Its used mostly for smaller scale lines where there are more characters per case, but too many that they can't be all new. Or with Transformers, the development cost is so high that yo can only afford one or two new characters per wave. MOAR BUMBLEBEES PLZ.
