I'm hoping the missing Spiderman wave figure is either Shocker or Scorpion.

Didn't the "leaked list" say shatterstar and Wolverine were included?

warmachine6 08-14-2016 02:51 PM

for the Spidey wave i think it is

MJ, as teased at SDCC
Spidey, SDCC boxset one as teased at SDCC
shocker, as teased at SDCC
Tombstone, as teased at SDCC
The Vulture*
The tinkerer*
movie Spidey*

BAF could be, thinking big characters.

Sandman, like SDCC one but human form.
Kingpin - he originally was in a spider-man comic

*Varies on release date i.e if released same time as the new Spidey movie.

Byrnes 08-14-2016 03:03 PM

Are you guys talking x men wave 2 with Warlock as the BaF?

Who is it so far
Colossus
Jim Lee Cyclops
Disco Dazzler
Polaris original costume
Sunfire
Shatterstar
Wolverine

I thought Mary Jane was 3.75 figure.

Hmm... Could there be an eighth figure? Or two Wolverine figures in a case?

looking good...where is that Mystique from ?
and where is that Crossbones from?

I'm def gonna buy that Blob one day. My goal is to sell my stuff on ebay to use to pay for it.. instead of just spending my hard earned loot.
i also think that Pyro body has held up well...but i'm a lil biased with that character as well..did he come with anything..he looks like he needs an effect or something..

Byrnes FORCED me to buy that Mr. Sinister of off him...heh...so I should have that next week. I think he's still pretty cool looking too.

Took a stab at Psylocke over the weekend, and man, for as simple as this figure looked, it was a nightmare to work on. As anyone into arts will tell you, sometimes you are able to work the canvas, and other times, the canvas tells you to take a walk. Seemingly everything was out to stop me on this one, from paints that just wouldn't cure and would rub off at the slightest touch, to my brushes having wild hairs up their ass and not painting straight.

Either way, I'm happy how she turned out despite the costume not being any particular one from the comics (I had to take liberties due to the paints just not wanting to work with me, combining elements from her Marvel Now look while paying homage to her 90's look with the "straps" on the legs and arms.) I still have to do some purple drybrushing to Cindy's hair, although I won't attempt that until I am able to either get a spare head or Silk figure to work with. In the meantime, she'll make a good placeholder for me until either Hasbro gives us a new figure, or I can take another stab at it.

i like the paint app on the hands too and the way the paint lies(lays?)
she looks very ASSASSIN like...

just saw pics of the strange wave. basically half the figures are from older waves and the SDCC set from last year...

The only one im remotely interested in is the iron fist. he looks like he's on the speed demon/electro body.

Sinister Is still a Fav. for me. Pyro I got to complete my ongoing Brotherhood of Evil mutants. No He did not come with anything. Blob I got for a good deal on the Bay. Mystique is from teh recent Epic Heroes Line of Marvel Legends. Crossbones is a Walmart Exclusive. You can find him on eBay but hes not Cheap. I had mine customized to have all his weapons Removable and added a Holster to his right leg. Also had Hydra Symbols placed on his Guns.

Thanks man! This one was a literal ***** to work on. I started off trying to do the Marvel Now version (a look that I actually like very much, because as you said...it's very ninja like) and I couldn't figure out just what exactly the pattern was on her legs (it seems to change depending on the artist.) Then...I couldn't get the X symbol across her chest to come out clean no matter how hard I tried. Either my paints would run, or would be uneven or too thick, and as I mentioned, neither my hands nor my brushes could keep the lines clean or straight, which resulted in me having to repaint the torso over and over again.

On top of that, I had to separate the upper torso from the bottom one in order to get the belt on, and afterwards, I could not get the damn thing to re-connect and stay put no matter how much heat I used. Of course, this ended up causing a chain reaction of paint rub which resulted in having to repaint yet again and well...you get the picture. I wanted to throw her at the wall on a couple of occasions. Thankfully the clear coat I used on her covers up some of the differences in texture that were noticeable due to the paints I was using (I mostly use flats, as semi-gloss paints tend to come out too shiny and have a tacky feeling to them when they dry, while gloss paints can be a nightmare to work with.)

In the end, I decided on combining elements from her Marvel Now costume (the black suit, grey fingered gloves and grey soled shoes) and some elements of her 90's costume (the leg and arm straps, along with the pink belt.) I debated on painting a grey swimsuit in homage similar to my recent Rogue in homage to those Jim Lee years, but that grey paint was one of the ones that was giving me the most difficulty, so I opted to the K.I.S.S. principle on that one. Keep it simple stupid...

While I know the Jim Lee swimsuit version will be the one everyone will want (and honestly, I wouldn't mind it either) but when Hasbro eventually comes around to give us Betsy again, I really wouldn't mind if we get something along these lines (image taken from a Google search, and I believe is fan made interpretation of her Now costume.) Especially if they did the soles of her boots just like this on a newly sculpted foot...

Thats a Beautiful Looking Psylocke Triv. Have you thought of putting an X on her Chest arm or Belt? I think that would look Great.

Thank you kind sir!

I tried the X on her chest a couple of times, but gave up on it after an hour with no success. My canvas was just not working with me yesterday no matter how hard I tried, and after a while, the thin layers of paint I applied started to amount to paint slop. I ended up having to scrub it off and start again.

Starlord67 08-14-2016 04:36 PM

Awesome work brother!! Love the ninja look of her.

You can get casts of Silks head online. If you're interested let me know.. I can hook you up.

@Starlord67. What is the symbol on Dazzlers Shoulder?

Starlord67 08-14-2016 04:44 PM

It's the circle X from the X-men
