One day, I was going to take my favorite ones and put them with the figure and iron man 2 stands for the cards.

It's always nice to see familiar faces, for sure. Thanks for making this place a welcome one (and that extends out to most of the other folks here as well).

The thor line was funny, because around me it seemed like retailers underordered initially. I remember the frost giants as being htf--then the movie did well, and every store stocked up and choked on that wave 1 case with 9 Thors. With the cap line, they seemed to rectify that a bit by having wave 2 ready to roll out quickly.

The sentinel decision was just ridiculous, though. In the quest to make the SDCC version special, they shot themselves in the foot by giving retail consumers the nontraditional paint apps. It was terrible planning. It's the retail customer you need to appease, not the SDCC customers. Call it exclusive, and people will buy almost anything. And yes, I love my composite Hulk, thankyouverymuch.

I miss the envelope cards. The letter were cool for the effect, the card art was great on these ones, and I love the bio card that shows the character's attributes. I'd rather have the envelopes back vs. the stupid card art crap.

Me too.
I loved the fury files. I feel like they added just as much to the toy experience as a pack in comic. They gave you cool art without worrying about the outer package and enough of a back story to get you interested in the character (and maybe a few others as well). I wish they would have maintained the website. Honestly, how hard could that have been, anyway?

While I admit the Thor line was handled VERY poorly, I really think ever since the IM2 line Hasbro has been handling all the movie lines VERY poorly. Bad case packouts, not enough villains/secondary characters, and of course retail didn't help by going wild loading up on the first waves. The Avengers are already suffering from those, while I know after the movie hits sales should pick up some I really think IMO that they should have split up the Avengers into all the waves rather than release all of them at once except for the anticipated Hawkeye and Widow. Truthfully with all the IMs still warming pegs in some areas, maybe he should have been held off til 3rd or 4th wave. Same goes for Thor and Cap. Then again all these re-releases/repaints from the previous movies ain't helping either.

Hobgoblin's was entertaining

FancyPants 04-12-2012 09:16 PM

Ok guys, I have a question. I googled "Heavy artillery captain america" under images and got two different figures. I know one is the heavy artillery and I don't know the other.

My question: What captain america is this? I really want this guy. He looks like the best captain I've ever seen

The first pic is heavy artillery

They're both the same figure. One is just in different light and doesn't have the gun accessory.

Switched captain americas. The secret wars version is my favorite now I think. His colors pop so much. Also put iron man's helmet.

I have a techdeck set that I plan to have Wolverine, X-23 and the rest of the X-Men attacking and taking down a couple of Sentinels. I also wish to paint a couple silver Sentinels to a slightly re-painted plum and purple one.

But Sentinel is super easy to sepetate, more so than 18th inch. If anyone knows how to crack the joints, let me know, otherwise some had brushing is needed.

nice thats gonna look awesome when its done.

Wow, those would be AWESOME ideas. Too bad they won't try any of them until at LEAST 2013. They set up the standard for this year already. :|

Amazon.com: Styrene Sheets, White, .040 x 7.6" x 11" (4): Toys & Games

Dude- just go to any hardware store- "For sale" and "Beware of Dog" signs are the exact same styrene and cost a buck.;)

Great for scratchbuilding stuff for your figs too- you can easily make a street sign from a pencil and some sheet styrene- just Google a "Stop" sign (or any sign) and print the image out in color- glue the signage onto the styrene and cust to shape, then glue the sign to the pencil (paint the pencil or stick silver).

Thanks for the tip but I was just trying to show another arker what the styrene looks like. It's actually pretty cheap at a hobby store or Michaels that come in sheets of white so one can paint it however they wanted for less than a dollar. However, I like the idea of printing the image and gluing it onto the styrene piece. I"m going to try that for an American flag I wanted to give captain america. Thanks JA.

By the time I decide to buy it he will probably be gone lol. Great price though. If his face was meaner he would be a good dark beast.

shortysben 04-13-2012 01:43 PM

yeah, I also love that it is on clearance from 109.00...as if at one point he was consistently going for 109$...who would pay that much?

Very nice job on those customs. Fantomex looks great.

That head on kitty pryde is from pirates of the caribbean. Nice touch. I'm in the process of using that head for another custom I'm working on.
