Now excuse me, I'm gonna go clean up the water I spit out when I read that. |
I picture Il Cattivo walking into a store looking for that one missing toy he's been wanting for a while, very mysteriously, and in the background you just hear......

so I was thinking about my old Toybiz x-men today and decided to make a list of Xmen figures toybiz made, that we are yet to see in any 3.75" line and mos we probably never will. Unless you collected X-men in the early 90's you will probably not know who some of these are...
Trevor Fitzroy Random Pyro Avalanche Calaban Corsair X-cutioner Quark Strong Guy X-treme Rictor Lady death strike Death bird Grizzly Senyaka Comm Cast Ch'od Gideon Genesis Exodus Brood kylun bone breaker shatterstar cannonball killspree raza commando Nimrod Forge Eric the Red Douglock Wolfsbane Morph Sauron Krule Banshee G.W. Bridge Forearm Marrow Polaris Stryfe Tusk Spiral sunspot slayback X-man I was thinking it would be awesome if Hasbro stole a page out of Neca's playbook and made a retro line of modern 3.75" figures biased on the classic 90's Toybiz figs. |

I think it is. bootleg hulkbuster is still awesome though btw :) |

Toybiz was owned by marvel, they disintegrated during marvel's bankruptcy. it's a shame too, they just launched ML showdown line right before they died.

The X-men I want aren't so much the 90s ones, but the more recent ones. I like 00s Era X-men, specifically the younger ones. I really want figures of Pixie, Dust, Surge, Bling!... it's a shame they sidelined the X-men so much that these will always remain obscure character. Pixie is the only one I can see getting a figure. Unless they do a dedicated X-men wave.
I would also like a decent Siryn figure(since there aren't really any other Irish lasses!). |
Trying to make a sleeveless aou Thor out of Thor 2 figs the head swap is easy but the cape is different and a bit hard tom remove because its super glued in any ideas how to get the glue to unstick.

as far as Siryn goes, we still haven't gotten Banshee! and the embargo on X-force seems to be worse than X-men! look at Cannonball, dude was a new mutant, a member of the original X-force, and an X-Man and he still can't get a figure! and poor Forge, he was awesome and a very important X-man as recently as the Wolverine and the X-men cartoon but he's been shut out. |

I only have the Punisher and Ironman figure though. Punisher still sits in my MU/I collection as my Frank Castle figure, but that Ironman figure sits in my Ironman armory and falls apart pretty regularly. Like literal bisection at the waist. From what I've seen and heard, there were only maybe 3 decent figures from SHS. Mole Man, The Ketch Ghost Rider, and Beast. Also, Toy Biz is now Marvel Toys, and they may not be in business anymore anyway. The last thing they still had the license to that I'm aware of was Curious George after their independent comics legends waves didn't really sell. The one that had the Pitt BAF and made a Witchblade and Darkness figure among others. The company itself was kind of floundering even before Hasbro bought the Marvel figure rights. -Edit- Yeah. In 2008 Marvel Toys (formerly Toy Biz) dissolved. They no longer exist. Quote:

the Toybiz story...
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marvel_Toys SHS was a decent line, the sculpts and articulation on Venom, Thor and Doc Ock are still head and shoulders above anything Hasbro has put out. keep in mind SHS only got a few waves out, if they had a couple years to refine and adapt to that scale (and get rid of the "game" aspect) I'm sure the QC issues would have been cleared up. but Snow's right on some of them, I have a spidey that regularly has his lower half fall off just sitting on the stand. |

I don't like the tongue sticking out. Silver Surfer, Green Goblin, Thor, Thing, Beast, dark Beast, Magneto, Venom, Moleman Spidey & Wolverine get lots of praise too. Then there were the ones before MU got better versions.. Namor, Daredevil, Hulk, Human Torch Colossus & Dr. Doom are different costume versions Their Captain America shield is the best one too. 1:18 Archive Marvel Showdown The game part really sabotaged its success. |
