Actually, Toybiz bought Marvel. They pumped in enough cash to stop them from going under while Marvel LLC was able to remain the chief majority share holder. There is a perfectly written article from the 90's Wall Street Journal about. I linked it before. I will try to find it.

Great lineup Ky. A lot of obscure characters for sure. Seems like they stayed on top of story lines and pumped everyone current and relevant at the time. I always enjoy reading your posts about figures you have that we didn't necessarily know you had. Your collection is one of the best out there!

That BAF comparison shot is perfection personified. I thought it looked big but your sequence nailed it. I also spotted a solved Rubic's Cube in the background. I am more jealous of that! ;) I never could solve one.

I have the Beast Showdown figure and I love it. Save for his goofy "pole holding" hand he is a real joy. The face is not exactly pretty but hey, he is named Beast after all. I really like the Namor on the shark. Also the Moleman is secretly my #1 most wanted figure. I want him so much in fact, I am unwilling to buy one from ChinaBay without his cape and staff. I have enough figures with makeshift capes and staffs of various sorts that I will not settle for him.

Speaking of Moleman, his army is my next focus in the upcoming year. I am going to add a few underworld surprises too. Maybe weird figures from Dr Who, Star Wars and random lines long gone. I want several weird imaginative characters. Just random Sub-Terra sorts. Add Giganto and 15 Moleoids and take some shots on some creepy rocks.... That could be my favourite army to date. All built around a character from the SHS line.

Toybiz never bought Marvel, the owners of Toybiz bought a controlling interest in marvel to protect there exclusive rights to produce marvel figures, later (after what was basically a failed bankruptcy scheme) a judge ordered Toybiz and Marvel merged into Marvel enterprises, Toybiz became one of Marvel's divisions, until, marvel entertainment sold out the figure rights to Hasbro, then Marvel Toys (the new name of Toybiz) was left unable to make marvel toys... so naturally they died... sad.

That Hulk is perfectly scaled with your MUs, it's the BAF that's huge.

scale-wise the BAF looks pretty spot on to me. stark's entire body is inside of the hulkbuster's torso right? I think it is.

bootleg hulkbuster is still awesome though btw :)

Ah, see it's a catch 22; Steel Beam Hulk is perfect scale, the BAF Hulkbuster is near perfect scale, but the Hulk and the Hulkbuster are not in scale with each other.

Despite it's drawbacks, the Bootleg Hulkbuster is still taller than the Steel Beam Hulk, but not so tall that it makes the Hulk look tiny.
Were the BAF about an inch shorter, and the Hulk half an inch taller, then it'd be fine.

I don't have any HULKBUSTER suits. I only have a single Ironman too, Extremis at that. Maybe next summer I might build a small armoury. Never went there because I know I can go slightly overboard with army building (hears someone say SLIGHTLY with a questionable tone as he types this) That and have seen too many perfect set ups to even try,and it is another expensive thing to chase up getting armours and displays and dip pieces. I may just stick to looking at Ursas pics....

Thanks for clearing the air on the ToyBiz Marvel thing Ky, been awhile since I read it . Hasbros contract runs out in 2018 and now with Disney at the helm I bet we see other manufacturers being able to make them. Just look at the Star Wars line since Disney redid negotiations with Hasbro 2 years ago. There are several people making all sorts now. Granted, no new 3.75" and Hasbro dropped the current quality of our scale down further.... I am still hopeful. More Revol-Mini figures please! And for god sake, let a small Indy company like Boss Fight Studio make them too! Never happen, but can dream!

On an unrelated toy topic but still Marvel... Ant-Man just came out to stream or download on Showbox Thursday!! Yeah!!! (Showbox is a free app for android devices with all the new films and shows for free).... Google how to install it! (Even PC and Apple is available if you do certain things-check YouTube)

Happy Saturday gang...... Enjoy your weekend'

Might I suggest getting the Modular Armor(Bleeding edge)figure? It's very easy to get either release of it. Or, if you feel like adding some variety, get the black and blue repaint. Only problems I've ever had with either one is trying to get it to stand and sometimes pushing the tush outwards, both of which can both be fixed with some proper posing.

Il Cattivo 11-07-2015 10:07 AM

the classic red and gold from IM2 is a must.

Damn, this figure is perfect. My only gripe is that it's the Ang Lee version xD

If anyone can throw me some more options for Hulks tell enough to be at the BAF Hulkbuster's reactor that'd be great.

Kamatayan 11-07-2015 10:23 AM

Does anyone know how well this will scale well with 3 3/4" figures? The average Pop figure is 3 3/4" and I'd assume that that a Pop figure could be put on this Iron Throne so I'm wondering how a regular 3 3/4" figure (Joes, MU, etc) will look on this Iron Throne.

Thanks again. There are a lot of good options but unless someone throws me something just a little bit taller I think this is the one I'm going with.

It could work I guess, it all depends on how low the seat is. If it's too low then they might as well be sitting on the floor.

Holy crap! That is freaking epic. I'd like to see a 3 3/4" on that!

EDIT: From the customer review pictures, I can tell it's the perfect size. There is one picture with the Tyrion figure on it and he's a really good size but a little but looks a little bit too tall sitting on it. With that you can tell that it's absolutely perfect for this scale. Thanks a bunch for showing me this!

EDIT #2: Wow, even in the first review the customer expresses how this is absolutely perfect for 3.75" figures. I'm probably getting this.

Deleting as I don't wanna get kicked. Ignore. Sorry guys, I was just angry.

kylactus 11-07-2015 04:18 PM

after reading that I know how my grandmother felt watching X-men... "who are these people? why are they so angry? I don't understand" but more power to you MUfan, your the only one I know so I'll back you.

I'm cool with it but don't post that stuff here. But unless you delete it, you're probably going to get kicked from the thread. This drama doesn't need to be on this thread or anywhere on the Ark in general. And if you didn't enter one of his giveaways why breathe more life into this unnecessary fight? If he's a turd so be it. You're only going to make it worse by calling him out. And if you're going to call him out, why here of all places?

https://media.giphy.com/media/k9XrZaAJuQyMU/giphy.gif

Anyways, is Grim going to NJCC? I haven't been active on his channel for years but I'm going there tomorrow and I want to know what to expect.

1) I edited it because Optibotimus isn't worth losing my place in this thread. 2)Not sure, only JUST subbed. I was just mad. I'm still gonna get proof from him, since I don't want him going out of his way to make me the bad guy, but I'll be quiet about the drama. I'm sorry guys.
