I would totally be fine with the 9 POA, I'd love wrist, ankle, and waist/torso joints but can do without. Heck, I'm refusing to buy any of the standard SW small figures because they're that 90's locked in 5 POA crap.

Yeah the T crotch really kills those figures. I would gladly take 9 POA over 5 POA. I also don't mind as my nieces/nephews come over and tear my kids' figures apart. I feel like I have OCD when I see them pop off heads and limbs and just leave them there, much harder to do with the 9 POA figures. Also I miss that spiderman line (the kid friendly one that had carnage in it). It was a kid's line but it had some bones in it for us collectors (as did the 2012 avengers line with black widow).

Universe 11-09-2015 07:04 PM

I'm all about the articulation. I've been patient with the line but passed on Big Time Spiderman because what was the point of it? It's not Spiderman in any shape or form, just a plastic vessel painted like him to be a hole in my collection because it's just such a crappy move to do that. Once the old bucks are all issued out; I will retire from collecting Hasbro products anymore unless they change the recipe and give us what we pay for.

There's always Japanese figures and the more Marvel stuff they make in our scale, the more business they get from me. After paying the extra to get it to you; the stark difference is just too clear to deny; they care.

Wait until a non-star wars movie year though.

I don't doubt we'll get a toyline. So far all of the recent animated series have had toylines, but they've been all over the place regarding scale.

This.

I too enjoy articulation, but for me it is ultimately character selection. Like old skool Yondu, no chest swivel, wrist or waist but what a cool character to have! The 20+ POA days are I'm afraid, behind us. The current market trends clearly show that.

Leader is still one of my favourite figures. He is on the Skrull movie buck as well. If you stand the AA Skrull next to the MU Skrull the movie line wins, in my opinion. Sure he is blue uniformed and has an axe (? to both those) but he stands easily and doesn't look anorexic. That is just one example of "points over play" where the articulation loses to playability, at least in my eyes. I love my Slrull army too, so me saying that means a lot.

Also, the HYDRA army builders from the first Cap film are my all time favourite from any toy line from any time period. Not as articulated as their MU counterparts from the TRU goons three pack. Again, side by side, the movie line wins for me. The film figures have had some epic fails (jungle camp Cap comes to mind) but it has also seen some winners.

We play not just pose so standing is huge vantage point to me. If you can't stand them up they become frustrating. When they keep falling over it makes you want to play video games or go for a bike ride instead. Also more POA does not always mean more poses. Anyone with Wasp knows that.....

Here is an old pic illustrating that point

http://i1164.photobucket.com/albums/.../IMG_05791.jpg

Four different female moulds throughout the years and some time less points mean more movement. Two different MU bucks a movie buck and a MI buck. This ONLY illustrates hip movement (think scissors) but it does show a point that less can be more. Please don't just count the numbers of articulation without counting up the hours of fun through play.

(also Shanna can kick and Emma can't, just saying)

Il Cattivo 11-10-2015 06:45 AM

I still prefer that old female buck over the newer ones.

UrsaMagnus 11-10-2015 07:51 AM

I like the old original female buck, but surprisingly I generally like the new one as well. If it just had some more articulation in the arms and legs (thigh cut and wrist swivels mainly) I'd be perfectly content. Generally I don't require much torso articulation to be happy. If they added those two aforementioned joints and a waist cut to all the new figures I'd be happy as a clam.

MUfan97 11-10-2015 09:07 AM

Just got Amazon giftcards for my birthday, and it didn't even take me ten minutes to blow it all on figures.

Ordered Kang and Commander Steve Rogers loose, along with the Doctor
Strange and Silver Surfer 2-pack(also got 12th Doctor regenerated, but that's a different thread).

Ninjinister 11-10-2015 12:19 PM

When I have the opportunity I'll post a photo but does anyone know of a 5 POA Venom with blue highlights? I got one from cBay and it's familiar yet not.

Exodus 11-10-2015 01:10 PM

Dang wish HTS would list the new MU figures...they finally listed the latest in TF's.

Kamatayan 11-10-2015 01:18 PM

Anyone know of a decent Cthulu for this scale?

None of those! He has elements of a few. He's got the body texture of the Water Spitter, but without the vest... he most looks like the Toxic Blast version, but he's got more of a blue shaading and many other coloring/design differences (also of course the texture, and the fact that he's 5 POA).

Here's all my Venoms. Noobsauce is on the far left.

Here's him next to the Water Spitter (which is only 3 POA). I couldn't get any of the texture of his body on camera, but if you have the Water Spitter you know what I mean by texture.

https://c1.staticflickr.com/1/711/22...fd538773_o.png
Noob next to Toxic Blast. Sorry it's a bit blurry, but you can still tell some distinct differences.

https://c1.staticflickr.com/1/643/22...c8704c26_o.png
Best shot I could get of him.

Here's where I bought him. You can make out the texture pretty well in here, actually, although mine seems less blue.

Wow! I like your style! Seems like you focus on one character but you go all out finding all the figs! Very nice!

I personally like the She Hulk buck for females; insane articulation for such a small fig. Too bad most women aren't that tall but we could still use a Titania and I even think Danger would suffice with the buck.

Nice group of Venoms there.
Maybe he is one of the Bootlegs coming out recently like the Antman figures. That seller had a bunch of other bootlegs.
What is that Red Venom? I've never seen that one before.

Il Cattivo 11-10-2015 06:38 PM

yea looking at that seller's other items I'd say its a bootleg.

Warpo does a 3.75" set of figures. They came out 2015 in a retro theme. There is also slime green clear variant.

That is a wonderful figure!!! I am making Gamora off it for a Christmas present. The double elbows were a great touch. We would all love a Titania from that mould for sure. There are some killer custom around the net of her, but I'd really enjoy an official one.

I too, like you, wish the new line was more articulated. I know you are a top "poser" and also have a huge ML collection so you know your stuff. We all enjoy your wonderful pics.

That's why that one Widow was so important to me, other than the fact that she'd slipped through my grasp so many times. If there's multiple variations I almost always have to catch 'em all!

Orange. It's Hyper Venom from Marvel vs. Capcom. Custom.

Thanks for the kind words, friend. I think you meant MU collection; I just have the Antman wave in Legends. I'll try to post some more pics; it's been ages.

Snowflakian 11-11-2015 11:41 AM

I picked up the All-New Wolverine comic today and I gotta say, it's wow. Sooooooooo goooooooooooooood. Amazing first issue.

Makes me want a comic 2 pack of her and Angel now outright.
Highly recommend checking the comic out though! It's accessible to new readers, and yet still has clues that point to her back issues for the long time fans.

Marvel nailed it on this one. Forget 90s Marvel, give me MU/MI of the All-New All-Different Marvel era! I'm perfectly happy with the current MI detail sculpts too. So what if we lose minor articulation so long as range of motion is still higher.

Though on Laura they may want to bring ankle articulation back at least. It'll make it easier to do foot claw variants without having to remold the entire lower leg. Plus, for foot claw poses you need to be able to do pointed feet.

And maybe consider doing wrist articulation for her too. Will make it easier to do claws or no claws variants for her hands too.
