They never got rid of ankle articulation. The only leg articulation they got rid of was the thigh and lower leg swivel that JL Cyclops & X-23 bucks had. I find it odd that they kept the rocker ankle.

I didn't get my black cat figure down to check. But looking at it now, you're right.

I do love the increased range of motion though. That was my biggest complaint on the X-23 figure itself. She has so much articulation, but you really can't even bend her legs because of the way they were made in the connecting spot. It's not even decorative hindrances, it's an actual design flaw in the shape of where her legs connect to her hips.

All that articulation, no skirt or web gear to hinder it, and she still can't pose. So I hope when they do an All-New Wolverine, they make sure she still has a decent range of motion for dynamic poses. Ditto to if they do America Chavez.

Makes me want a comic 2 pack of her and Angel now outright.
Highly recommend checking the comic out though! It's accessible to new readers, and yet still has clues that point to her back issues for the long time fans.

Marvel nailed it on this one. Forget 90s Marvel, give me MU/MI of the All-New All-Different Marvel era! I'm perfectly happy with the current MI detail sculpts too. So what if we lose minor articulation so long as range of motion is still higher.

And maybe consider doing wrist articulation for her too. Will make it easier to do claws or no claws variants for her hands too.

I'll have to pick up that floppy. I didn't know it was out already, figured it would be out after secret wars is done.
As for that new female buck it isn't too bad. I just wish it had diaphragm/ upper torso articulation and a neck hinge. I think the she hulk and the first female buck are the best. I think its hilarious that (according to vonner) they used Debbie for the sculpt (of Debbie does Dallas fame).

should be the next few weeks, all the All-New All-Different stuff seem to be trickling in.

Secret Wars really messed up the continuity though

Here's all my Venoms. Noobsauce is on the far left.

Here's him next to the Water Spitter (which is only 3 POA). I couldn't get any of the texture of his body on camera, but if you have the Water Spitter you know what I mean by texture.

Noob next to Toxic Blast. Sorry it's a bit blurry, but you can still tell some distinct differences.

Best shot I could get of him.

Here's where I bought him. You can make out the texture pretty well in here, actually, although mine seems less blue.

They need to release an actual MU Venom...or what's the best equivalent?

Interesting I had my friend pick it up just for collector's sake. Although I have been getting rid of my high value comics lately...

The spider-man line had a couple that are pretty good.

It's realllllllly gooooooooooooood. You should check it out. There are a few minor things that push her as Logan's clone, but the first story line itself looks like it's diving into that she's not Wolverine's clone. More his genetic twin/daughter like it's supposed to be according to the origin miniseries. I have a sneaking suspicion we're going to see them dive into what happened to her mother's body in either this arc or the next one.

Most of All-New All-Different is easily accessible to new readers, but Secret Wars itself did set the stage so I can see why you'd want to wait on that.

Pilkster would you be able to sculpt the grey variant beast head in the same blue or paint it the same blue as the normal infinite beast ?

There are a lot of good 3 3/4" Venom's out there. The most popular one's are the MacGargan Venom and the SHS Venom. They're both really good but they're kind of pricy.

I can paint it the same blue for you. havnt mastered the colour casts. (not even tried to be honest) because the sales have dried up abit. so not not really concentrated on it. thought at the prices Im doing them and painted to and alot of the deals i have on they would be flying out. but only seem to be getting the same people ordering them. but yeah I can paint it for you if you have 1? if you need it cast you will have to send me the head and Ill cast it and sent them both back to you.

Id say the SHSD figure is the best, but the head needs a repaint as the mouth is terrible. but i liked the Spidey line version too before I turned him into Toxin.

En Sabah Nerd 11-13-2015 10:33 AM

I enjoy the ability to mix both female bucks. It helps bring some diversity so not everyone looks the same, the old one is a bit more muscular so it works better for characters like Mockingbird and the second buck is better for characters like Scarlet Witch who aren't supposed to be as physically trained. The newer buck does have more pose but some of it adds to that sense of fragility.

Thanks, I still want one that's branded under the MU line is probably why I never grabbed any of those...

OfficialHegarty 11-13-2015 11:31 AM

Does anyone have a infinite grey beast they can lend to pilk to cast for me ?

Been thinking about maybe making some custom Agents of SHIELD figs, in particular Mockingbird and Quake. I'm guessing GiJoes would be the best to use for this. Any suggestions for which figs in particular would work?

Psycho Pirate 11-13-2015 04:12 PM

Edit: "Desert Ambush" ROC Scarlett is a great base. Pardon my brain deadness.

OfficialHegarty 11-13-2015 04:35 PM

any tips about painting over figures I'm thinking of using paint from games workshop ?

Madame Warlock 11-13-2015 05:09 PM

any decent acrylic paint really. games worskhop stuff is decent but can be expensive.

Movie Black Widow is compatible to GI Joe heads, and Renegade scarlet if you clip her ponytail makes for a great Maria Hill at least.

Not sure on Quake, but the same base body would probably work. For Quake though I'd say use the Black Widow body, but maybe use ROC Desert Ambush Scarlett's lower arms to give Quake those more metal gloves she uses. By painting those silver you can have an easier time on making the lower arms, but not sure on hands. Black Widow's hands might be good to use instead of the ROC Scarlett ones since they have a more texturized glove aspect to them for better detailing.

If you feel ambitious on top of that, GI Joe Wraith gauntlets make for great customs too if you reverse the gauntlet so the hand area goes towards the elbow and the elbow area goes toward the hand. Then use a nail clipper to clip the inside arm area to shorter. I have a lot of customs planned still that use Wraith web gear and ROC Desert Ambush Scarlett, but to do those customs it generally comes out to higher than I want to pay to make the custom figures right now.

This body is amazing for customs but she's so hard to come by these days. Even on ebay her price has gone up considerably. I try to keep an eye out for them because I want to use that base for a lot of customs I still want to do. But none have stayed within my price range to buy them at.

Tamiya paints have been some of the best I've ever used. Decent price, and once they dry they're on there as strong as the plastic you're painting on itself. As long as you close them tight, they last a long time too without getting wonky with age like some Testor's paints do.
