http://i853.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps80k4rtbq.jpg Then at Wal-Mart all 3 pegs that are marked for the X wave were filled to the brim with the clone army of Morbius, Jack-O-Lantern, Beetle, and Speed-Demon. Thankfully I'm not that super into any of the new figures but seeing something new is appreciated. |

BTW, I picked one up at Target tonight if anyone is interested. Just shoot me a PM. http://i1366.photobucket.com/albums/...psznle3xam.jpg |

Thank you, Robb. That's the second time you've helped me with a timely post (Namor, being the first...which was delivered from Walgreen's with a free sample of Advil lol). I was able to use their "pick up at store" widget to find a Toys "R" Us near me with the 3pk...

I did see a few of Spidey/Cap/Tony 3-pack though but I only really have interest in the Spider-Man figure. Still no Buckys or Falcons, the latter of which is the one I'm really looking for. |
i think i need a clarification on "peg warming"...
how can a BRAND NEW item be peg warming?? and then this must be a peg inferno... http://i304.photobucket.com/albums/n...psxq7gxuyd.jpg Quote:

I'm hoping that someone can help with this. Does anyone here have both the Jubilee Wave Magneto and the old Series 3 Magneto? I'm wondering how the old one compares to the newer one. having only recently gotten into collecting Marvel legends I would like to add a Magneto to my collection, but the Jubilee wave figure tends to go for more than I would like to spend.
Thanks |
I have Falcon Cap and Vision up for Grabs. If anyone wants to trade for the Toys R Us Winter Soldier though…

I am amused by areas having Fury peg warming when we have yet to see figure 1 of the Civil War wave around my area of KC. |
Found the Punisher in Framingham, MA. I picked up an extra if anyone has a Falcon to trade.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dISKmnXZlKA I'm gonna be straight with you here on this one, if you have to choose between the two, and aren't looking to complete Jubilee, go with the Toybiz Magneto. The Hasbro version is utter rubbish, and the Toybiz version is about a quarter of the price (you can find them for roughly 25 dollars or less on eBay, depending on the condition, whereas Hasbro's can cost you up to 200 bucks, depending on whether or not you need the BAF piece.) While I don't have both now, (my Toybiz Magneto broke during a move and I never got a round to replacing him) I still do have the Hasbro version, and he's honestly one of the worst figures of this new era of Marvel Legends. His proportions are off in a bad Rob Liefield sort of way, his cape hinders his articulation, doesn't stay on the way it should, and he has the ball jointed hips that Hasbro has since done away with. He also has an ugly head sculpt, and these horribly large feet that make him look like he's wearing an oversized pair of hospital slipper socks. He also cannot stand on his own for ****. The Toybiz version has a much better designed cape and head sculpt, plus the helmet is removable. He also has some nice paint effects, and some pretty good articulation that holds up to this day. About the only complaint that I could ever find for him when I had him was that he obviously used a retooled version of the Series 1 Iron Man body, but in hindsight, I think it's an improvement compared to what Hasbro gave us. |
also the series 3 one can remove his helmet , maybe hasbro will make better one either marvel now black or white either would make me want it. Or
All new all different marvel magneto but removeable helms are key |

The Toy Biz Magneto has silly proportions (similar body to the Iron Man of the period, which I also don't really care for), the body looks dated in comparison to modern Legends, and the fig is prone to breaking due to design quirks (shoulders and waist mostly). The helmet is removable on the Toy Biz version, which is definitely a perk, but also a bit of a mixed bag. The head sculpt isn't all that great (IMO), but has nice hair...something I'm always looking for in toys ;) There is a screaming head variant for those that want a more emotive countenance. The cape is less cumbersome than its Hasbro counterpart, but it often sits askew on the fig's shoulders. http://i1380.photobucket.com/albums/...b7539f_1_1.jpg The Hasbro version shares the same body mold as that of the much maligned 1st Appearance Face-Off 2pk Punisher (along with Shield Agents/Kazar/Steve Rogers - "The Captain"/ and the upper-body of Hasbro's first Drax figure). Many people hate this mold. I don't. The popular consensus is that it's utter trash...The helmet is a part of the head-sculpt, but I think it actually looks better than the Toy Biz version...that is, when the Toy Biz helmet is actually placed on the fig's noggin. In the fig's hand, as a prop, the Toy Biz helmet is all aces. The face may not satisfy everyone's "ideal," but it's intense which is how I envision Mags. The hands are not pose friendly, but I think they work well for the character. http://i1380.photobucket.com/albums/...psopzlhjrt.jpg http://i1380.photobucket.com/albums/...ps75kfc1cg.jpg http://i1380.photobucket.com/albums/...psw0hprdea.jpg Price-wise, I'd never pay the going rate for Hasbro's Magneto...and I've two of them. I had to grab a second because my first one had two left feet...or right?...it's hard to tell...so you'll have to watch out for that as well. I could see a new Magneto being released in the next 2yrs or so, given how many people hate the current one. You aren't really going wrong with the Toy Biz version (the two figs are roughly even) and you're saving big bucks. Good luck with your decision... |

Punisher is around the Nor Cal Sacramento area. Picked up two. Punisher is great, but I was more excited to finally have the base body for my Nefaria custom.
|
Just started reading Fraction and Aja's Hawkeye. Really wanting that Kate Bishop figure right now...might have to find a Pizza Dog, too.
|
I've never been a fan of removable helmets because it always makes the helmet look two times bigger than they should be.
Anyway, I went to a Walgreens, no Punisher. Also, does anyone need Wolverine or should I just return the one I picked up for someone here back to Target? |
@TheBlueMarvel....Thank you for the breakdown and the pictures. Based on your review I think I agree with you and I'll go for the Toybiz one for now and hope for a new one in the future.
And your pictures look great as always. |
