Now let's talk 3.75in toys...

Thinking about converting my 2-pack Silver Surfer into a custom classic Vision, my logic being that 1) He has a crappy paint job anyway, 2) The normal Vision is too expensive, 3) The new Vision has a body I wouldn't use for anything else, so why grab his head and cape for a custom? And 4) I can easily get a new Silver Surfer in the future.


I'm also much more of a Vision fan than a Silver Surfer fan.

Mutants are over, at least as far as toys in our scale in the foreseeable future go. I remember that Rogue talk as well but it seemed to fade away. The SKU numbers leaked might be Legends. We will find out in February at Toy Fair. Also, it means that well get very confusing when the MI line gets re-branded into 3.75" Marvel Legends.

Rogue may not come out again, if so she would be an under articulated new female. Buy the MU one, as she most likely won't be getting any cheaper any time soon.

Was there any other bad news you needed delivered? A sick relative, or upcoming job loss perhaps? Sorry to be the bearer.... ;)

It ain't gonna happen, but for me to be happy I'mma need every major character in the movie. All of the dueling heroes, plus whatever villain(s).

A metallic base like Surfer might work well with transparent paints of other colors. and the All-Star Vision figure could be a cheaper source of a head and cape if you wanted to do a modern version.

A spare Iron Fist or Mysterio figure with a green base would save a lot of painting and paint rub issues, though.

I said I wanted to do a Classic Vision, as that's the only good look he's had in the comics, in my opinion. I'll probably do paper and tape for the cape, since fabric would be far to hard to shape into the collar, whilst I have a good plan for how to do it with paper.

^that's a hard story to retcon.... aw hell, just scrap the universe.

Would you count Superman's first appearance costume as classic? I'm talking the Vision we see on the MU version.

Right, that is where I got confused. When PP showed some great recipe options for a classic Vision like the MU version you said, "I said I wanted a classic Vision."

Thought you meant even further back.... That is why I posted his early look because it seemed odd. I didn't think anyone wanted that version.... Although, I believe PP has one actually.

My pics were more of a modern Vision, not classic. I missed that in his first post. To me, classic implies the 70's and 80's (at least for Marvel).

You posted those pics as I was typing. Nice. I really enjoy looking at PP's figures! I think it is the first time you posted them here? He is ace, I am gonna save that pic to look over later.

I fortunate enough to own a PP custom in our collection. Our Valinor, the Black Knights faithful steed.

Perhaps that is where the next level of collecting lies K-Dub.... Collecting customs from the top guys around. I have a mate that does that. He has someone from anyone who is anyone. I think that is a cool idea.

We saw her practice flying at the very end of AoU, but it's nice to see she's making progress discovering powers.
