There were a total of 3 Tacit Ronin's on the shelf, while there were at least 5 or 6 of the new Gypsy Dangers (with Hong Kong Freighter Ship.) so it looks like Ronin might be the shortcase. (Figures...) I didn't see any of Romeo Blue, so I don't know if he is to come later in the wave, or if he is out already.

I know it sucks trying to find Pacific Rim figures in the wild, but if you get the chance, definitely try to find Ronin in person to inspect the paint apps, as they are all over the place, especially around the eyes and head of the figure. There are two different shades of paint used to form the eyes (a gold and a brighter yellow,) and the Ronins had either sloppy application on the eyes, or were uneven altogether. The black wash on the chest of the Ronins is also a spot to look out for, as some of the ones I saw tonight had one side of the chest that was noticeably darker than the other. I'd hate for you to drop money to a scalper on Ebay for this guy only to get a figure with some derpy paints.

According to all online shipping lists Gipsy and Tacit are packed equally so this is more of a sign to which one is more demanded I think. Romeo Blue isn't until next wave (wave 5) so nobody should be finding any of those yet.

They can be found at specialty stores, like Hastings as En Sabah said, and comic shops.

Series 1 consists New Adventures Batman, NA Mr. Freeze, NA Two-Face, and BTAS Catwoman. For some reason, though, they aren't being put out together, their releases are staggered. Batman came out several weeks ago, and I believe Catwoman was last week. Still waiting for the other two.

Series 2 is BTAS Joker, BTAS Robin, BTAS Man-Bat, and NA Poison Ivy.

Series 3 is NA Killer Croc with Baby Doll, NA Creeper, NA Robin, and BTAS Harley Quinn.

I stop by this thread on occasion to see the things people have snagged, but I have never really imagined posting here. Like others on this website, I get many things (figs) in the mail or while I'm out and about. Some of my purchases are mundane, while others might be considered noteworthy to individuals with similar interests to my own. However, this particular acquisition highlights two pretty cool benchmarks that I believe could have only happened here on Toyark.

The first order of business is that I have finally gotten my hands on a Marvel Legends Bi Beast Prototype/Test Shot. This was actually my reason for joining Toyark years ago. After reading a Joe Moore article regarding this prototype and other Marvel Legends Test shots that were not going to make it to production, I determined that Toyark was my best lead in tracking down the figure. This figure, up to this point in time, had been the most coveted figure on a short list of toys I desperately want. Words fall short of how much I have wanted this fig since first seeing it in SDCC photos. I'm a very big Hulk fan and having one of jade-jaw's lesser know enemies made into a toy was almost too tantalizing as a comic and figure enthusiast. The hunt was on....

All of this brings me to the second, and in some ways, more important aspect of this pick-up. I happened to mention my desire for this figure and its elusive nature in some random thread a couple of months ago. A Toyark staffer asked me about what or who Bi Beast is, I link Joe Moore's story in the comments and explain this as my motivation for joining the site. Not even a day later, I get a PM from Byrnes telling me he found one on eBay to which he provides a link. I'm amazed that I missed it because I'm always (daily) trawling eBay for gems, yet somehow this slipped past my feelers. Some negotiating takes place and bada-bing...I get what I want. Byrnes and I are not friends nor had we ever communicated about anything prior to his message. He saw my posts and decided to assist me (a complete stranger) in my search....When I thanked Byrnes he (in a matter of fact manner) replied that this was what "communities" do for one another. I guess what I'm getting at here is a protracted "thank you" to Byrnes...LOL Thanks man! You are 'da man!...and a thank you to this community! Getting a Bi Beast prototype represents some serious wish fulfillment for me and I hope (at some point) I can reciprocate and help Byrnes or some other member of the Toyark community obtain something they really want....

The following pics are after I sent the Bi Beast to a custom-maker for a repair-paint job and some before shots. The person I bought the Bi-beast from nearly destroyed it with a really bad paint job. Best case scenario would have been to get a Bi-Beast featuring the original look of the prototype, but the seller I bought it from customized (aaarrrgghh) it poorly with a bad paint job and filing of the shins (to remove the sculpted seam of the pants featured on the test shot). Anthony of Anthony's Customs provided the new paint app (awesome job too....my pics don't do it justice), he repaired the shins, and added an improved belt. Basically, Anthony saved my Bi-Beast and I am quite happy with the work...I have actually had the Bi-Beast for a bit, but I sent it off to get repaired within days of first getting it and just got it back yesterday....

I was lucky enough to get the set in a pre-order. But China is the way to go... I got the Mr. Burns glow in the dark figure for $7.00. Sure it took over a month but it was great!
Also the bootleg neca TMNT figures from china are awesome as well. Lets hear it for sneaky factory workers!!!

I called my local TRU this morning when they opened and asked if they had any NECA Godzilla '85 figures. I gave them the "R" web number and they said they didn't have any. Later I was out anyway so I checked in to see if they had anything else and when I checked the NECA section they had three of the Godzilla '85 figures. What the hell people who answer the phone? Maybe it's not even that person's fault maybe the computers just don't account for what's already available on the shelf, either way calling TRU is apparently wasted time unless they actually say "yes we have that." I did pick up the best figure available (though there wasn't a whole lot of comparing to do) because they are all very well done and equal on the paint apps, except for the third figure. Yeah, he's been decapitated. the ball joint was unbroken and looks like it could easily be plugged back on, but how the hell did this even happen?! It doesn't seem to be a widespread occurrence but still be careful about that shit.

i've seen plenty of neca figures whose hands or feet are loose in the packaging.. no big deal usually since the ball joint, like you said, wasn't broken.

wonder if you could take it up to customer service and get a discount lol.

Maybe customer service would have something to say on the matter, I just put it up on the top most shelf out of reach for anybody under 6' tall, it's management's problem now. When I got my Booker figure though his left hand was detached and loose in the box but it plugged back on great, not loose at all nor too tight.

That is really awesome! I am glad to hear that you have been able to obtain a figure you have really wanted and been seeking for a long time. Awesome of Byrnes to help you out as well.

As for helping others, I recall you providing me awesome comparison pictures and some Ebay links when I was try to decide on which (ok I ended up with them all) Silver Surfer I should snag for my collection. I would say this is good karma paying you back in spades my friend. Anthony did an excellent job on the figure as well. Not that I am at all surprised. He does great work.

It is cool, but to be honest, I am a little lose as to the purpose of the four smaller flames. They really can't fit on any of the figure's appendages and there really isn't any place to properly fit them onto the big flames. I've found a way to get some of them to just sit there, but they don't stay on for long. Also, for some reason my imagination seems to be a little lacking right now, which sucks as I had all of these thoughts of what I could do with the flames until I actually had them in hand.

Your B&N sounds awesome ! I can't believe that you've found so many of your Figuarts figures and Bandai accessories there !

My B&N has an adequately sized area with figures and other collectibles, but I've never spotted any Bandai products, with the exception of a couple of Gundam model kits.
I must admit I'm a little envious right now :p

Ok everyone, did I miss something? every Target and TRU in middle Tennessee is completely empty of the new TMNT figures! Did they have a black Friday sale or something? I mean bone dry! in December! WTF man?!?

While I'm ecstatic that I finally got Bi-Beast, I'm more in awe of the fact that participation in this community of collectors actually paid dividends. A fact that might be most attributable to the inherent kindness of Toyark's participants....pretty neat indeed!:D

I'm pretty bad at the "look" aspect of this thread, but I picked up Transformers 4 Snarl for $11 at HEB (local grocery chain). Unlike the majority of my recent hauls I'm just going to enjoy this one right now instead of forcing myself to wait.

Got my Doomsday Unleashed friday. Put him next to the Bound version and a Superman to show his size. I really like how big he is. Some might say too big, but I don't care. I have been wanting a figure like this for 20 years.
