X-Men Omnibus Volume 2 Update - I just hit the Marvel Tales stuff, but I'm not sure why they are in the book before X-Men 151-153 since they came out like 7 months after those issues.
Honestly, I've got to say that issues 145-150 were kind of weak. I liked the one with Cyclops and Man-Thing, but it ends with Lee in the hospital. Suddenly, in the next issue Cyclops and Lee are stranded on some island. WTF? Instead of telling us this happened, they should have shown us this happen because that is a pretty god damn important event. How did they get from the hospital to being on the open sea? What happened to her crew? Were they with her? Did they survive? Also, I felt the story with Garrock was mediocre and didn't make sense. Another thing that bugs me was the Avengers annual being in the middle of this story arc. Issue 150 seems to have the X-Men on their way back from the battle with Garrock, but the story with Rogue takes place over the course of several weeks and Miss Marvel is with Prof X in 150. Huh? So how long were Scott and Lee guests of Magneto? It ddn't seem like they were there for more than a few days. On the other hand, I'm going to guess this is where they really started to turn Magneto into more than just a one dimensional villain, right? None of the other issues I have read seemed to talk about Magneto's imprisonment during WWII. If so, then issue 150 does have some major revelations to it, which boosts it up quite a bit. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed these issues, but I don't feel they are up to par with everything that occurred before them. Oh, and X-Men Annual 5 was average. I didn't like how Sue seemed to be vastly inexperienced and needed support to help her both emotionally and physically just to handle a situation. That felt very out of character with the Sue Storm I have read about. The stuff dealing with Arkon was not bad this time around, but I just don't think he is all that great of a character. The scene between Thing and Colossus arm wrestling was priceless though. Lastly, it seems like the letters page is not present on the vast majority of issues in this book. What gives? Were they too damaged to remaster or did they just not exist to begin with? Well that is all I have to report on my X-Men reading at the moment. |

So has anybody else realized Punisher is having an absolutely excellent year as far as everything?
A fantastic portrayal on Daredevil Season 2, an excellent ML release, the announcement of a figure for TV version of him that looks pretty great, the Mezco figure which looks fantastic, a comic series that I've heard good things about, AND he's slated to get his very own show? If it wasn't for the whole dead family thing, I'd say ol' Frank should be happy with the way things are going for him. |

Saw this pack at my TRU today and while I don't want it I figured people would like to know that it's been found in south-central Texas. |

My LCS had one of the old toy biz hoverbikes from Taskmaster in the parts bin. Some may know that this vehicle originally belonged to Dreadknight in the comics and was known as his flying steed. He can not really sit on it because of the cape and front and back sash, but I will pose him with it on the shelf someday.
http://i1058.photobucket.com/albums/...psmm9ngphj.jpg I also found the Walgreens Punisher today. Bought 2 of him. One to leave as War Journal Jim Lee style. I really like the older 5 o'clock shadow, I have not slept in days because I have been killing bad guys head. I used the coat off of one of my fodder Fury figures and cut off the chest straps. I want to remove the pouches but I need to find something to use as a belt. He needs something at the waist. Also did not know there was a big punisher skull logo behind the figure in the box until I opened him up. http://i1058.photobucket.com/albums/...psiuyktdwi.jpg |
What's my best bet for a ML Fantastic Four?

I really hope when the TV series rolls around, they give it a faithful re-telling of "Welcome Back Frank," which wasn't given proper justice with the Thomas Jane attempt. I fear that a self narrated Punisher series would eventually run out of steam and become boring and depressing, and that properly representing Joan, Spacker Dave, and Mr. Bumpo, as well as his crusade against the Nuccis would make for familiar, but an entertaining TV series. (They've already done scenes from the story in Daredevil, and the Punisher would need supporting characters, so why not?) You could easily fit in the sub-plot with the copycat killers, The Holy, Mr. Payback and The Elite, (which would fit in with the "Devil Worshipper" theme that was introduced and hinted at in Season 2 of Daredevil) as well as introduce the hapless Detective Soap, and cap it off with an encounter with The Russian (who in an awesome passing the torch type moment, could be played by Dolph Lundgren.) With the Nuccis eventually dispatched, we could find out they've been supported by the Kingpin, and it could possibly introduce us to another character, maybe a supervillian, like Tombstone (which in turn could intro us to the Tinkerer, who is set to appear in Spider-Man: Homecoming.) I'd watch all 13 episodes in one sitting easy. Quote:

http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j1...206_194619.jpg Otherwise...I'd sit and hold tight like Blue Marvel said. With Susan and Herbie on the horizon, I cannot imagine the rest of the team will be far behind at some point in the upcoming year. Since we were on the topic of the Punisher Walgreens figure earlier, Boy Blunder and I both mentioned that the Punisher's head does seem kinda small on his body, and it's not been missed by reviewers, as Anthony over at Anthony's Customs said the same thing. He also however helped me figure out just how to fix it, as the head does sit a little bit too high on the body, which is what gives it the tiny appearance. So...after a little bit of time with the dremel tool on the ball of the neck peg... http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j1...824_152952.jpg http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j1...824_220259.jpg Walla! Now Frank's head sits a little further down on his shoulders, thus bringing it into a little bit of better proportions with the rest of his body. One note...do be careful when doing this, as it's easy to get carried away and sand it down too far. And also, if you use a dremel, please, please, PLEASE wear PROPER eye protection. I actually had a piece of plastic fly up UNDER the lenses of the safety glasses I was using, and it was a bitch to get that little flake of plastic out. Almost ended up in the E.R. because of it. Time to get a pair of goggles I think... |

People will just allow their children to open figures in the aisles and only bother to tell them after they have destroyed the packaging and spilled the contents all over the floor and racks that "they can't have it" I dread everytime i have some reason to even enter a Walmart...something about that place just seems to attracted every single type of thing and person that immediatly annoys me and regret my choice of going their. I usually can't even get in the store without having to fight my way passed a group of people who think the doorway is the best place to stop and have a conversation, check if their bags and fiddle with phones or actually bother to attend to their children. Thankfully Targets rarley have this issue for me, it's a weird contrast in experiences between the two that I won't even bother to hypothesize why. |
