I am unsure why everyone is paying more than 7$ for these wave one figs...I mean if history is gonna repeat itself (and with hasbro it does regularly) these wave one figures will flood the shelfs...walmarts wont be able to give these away a month after they come out...

mikefavata 04-21-2012 10:08 PM

Anyone have a TRU Avengers light up Series 2 Captain America (w/ nice paint) they'd sell or trade?

Well, in my defense, I really didn't start reading alot of variety of comics til the 80s, during the 70s like most kids I was only open to the BIG characters i.e. Spiderman, Batman, and Superman at the time especially since I would get up every Saturday morning bright and early to watch Superfriends. Man, does that remind me that to this day I still love the theme but compared to today's comic cartoons, that show was really lame{sorry Wendy, Marvin, and Wonderdog}.

Yeah. Superfriends and a lot of others are unwatchable- I bought the box set of Galaxy Rangers and could not even finish it. I loved the hell out of that show as a kid too!

Same with the 90's Iron Man cartoon- the later episodes must have been done by some overseas production company as they...er...well, they dont make a hell of a lot of sense in places...and the animation jumps around a LOT.
EDIT: actualy i'm kidding- the Iron Man series was awesome...I'll trade the box set for...er...Showdown Beast! No? ....Spider Woman?
Anything?

It's all on netflix these days. I like the one with hulkbuster armor

Jason Abbadon 04-21-2012 11:57 PM

Yeah, there are ocasional good parts...but stuff like Dum Dum's awful stereotyoical irish accent- from a character from New york no less!- was shamefully bad. They even played this Lucky Charms" type music whenever he spoke.....(shakes head).

It was also kinda odd that they had Tony hooked up with Spider-Woman- she was in the role Pepper plays in the movies...and the Scarlett Witch had a crazy accent too!

Still, I love that armor and want a 3.75" figure of it badly.

Those retaliation figures seem like they take a page from the thor movie line- the colors and die-cut on the card art and crappy oversized gimmicks....
Duke even looks like he's wearing Thor movie armor-
http://www.ebay.com/itm/2012-G-I-Joe...item2ebd6aa271
...but outside the blister they look SO worth getting! And maybe I can re-purpose those oversized weapons onto my Sentinel or something!
I'm checking out TRU and Target tomorrow! Gotta hunt something while we wait for MU, right?

I HAVE to get a few Beachheads!
He's just a mix of previuously released Joe parts but he works great as additional HYDRA goons- like the one from the Mu 3-pack but wth better sculpt and articulation! Just paint 'em green and slap on a Hydra patch and you're golden, baby!
That head is the best thing for Phantomex too! Great detail on it- seams on the mask match his comics look perfectly too!

Looks good. I am a big fan of creating different levels and depth.. I like to actually see my figs instead of a feeling like I am looking at a mosh pit! LOL

bmorr 04-22-2012 07:11 AM

so after opening my new sinister/thanos packs, i have a few gripes. Since i didnt read any revies on them, i didnt realize that sinisters cape wasnt actually attached. It just sits there on his neck. Howevor a few dabs of Zap a Gap fixed that problem. On Gambit, he cant even hold the staff the came with, always just falls out of his hands. The gold thanos is real winner out of the four figures. The paint job isnt a solid gold(on mine anyways), but has a coppery look. Its too bad he didnt come with a Gauntlet. And then theres Adam Warlock. The legs were a nightmare. Always wanting to fall off, and the thigh swivels are looser than a whore on payday. The cape rules though, on it "offgases" almost gave me a headache from the vinyl odors. It is an awesome glossy red.
