Autobot_Goldbug 12-08-2015 08:26 PM

It's on a better buck than the previous two. The first shared the old Punisher buck and the two pack version had the original Daredevil buck, all three have the same head mold I believe. The light-up base Panther has the same body as Guardian.

Cool. Where did you hear this from? I know sometimes Walmart employees can look this stuff up ahead of time.

I believe the original pics came from Taobao and some others site posted the story after that.

wolverine2281 12-08-2015 11:05 PM

the Guardian body & the new paint is nice but we loose the sculpting from his suit that is unique to Black Panther :(

They are up on smalljoes.com. That's where I pre ordered mine.

Dunno what you're referring to.

thing is they could have a waist cut without it making too much difference to the articulation. I wish they would.

The problem is in how the figures were made.
Ms. Marvel for example if you take her apart, has 3 pieces inside plus the pieces that make her body. The original MU female buck really was overcomplicated to produce. It was annoying trying to put her back together after a kitbash. I feel sorry for those that have to assemble her regularly as a job.

The Captain Marvel version looks to only have two pieces. The hip ball joints, and the body itself. That'll streamline assembly tons. I wish there was a happy middle ground we could find on that though so we can get wrist articulation back, and maybe waist or torso articulation. (It's redundant to have both. Kind of like how it's redundant to have ankle swivel and calf swivel, plus upper thigh swivel. Upper thigh swivel is great, and ankle articulation is a must. Calf swivel was only there to prolong the leg creation for easy boot switching and wasn't really articulation for us anyway.)

I absolutely love the range of motion these have though over the previous.

It's one of my major gripes about the X-23 release they did. Probably my only grip. She's loaded down with articulation for any pose, but the hips limit her leg movement so it's impossible to pose her legs even with all that articulation.

So losing some articulation in favor of having better range of movement for poses is fine by me. Maybe later they'll work wrist articulation back in, and expand on that end like they started to do in GI Joe. That'll come later though. Gotta have a reason to re-buy the figure you already bought and all that.

Whoa didn't know there was another Vision coming out, so they're finally releasing a new one for him, so will this probably drive down the value on the first one?

I don't think it'll drive down the value of the other one. It'll hopefully give those that can't/won't spend 100$ for a 3 3/4 scale figure a chance at a vision within a more reasonable price range. It may drive down those ridiculous eBay prices but even that's a huge maybe.

ukmu 12-09-2015 11:03 PM

I am REALLY REALLY happy he is coming out. Will give everyone a chance for a great character and must have for any Avengers team up.

That said...,He is nothing close to the original. Nothing can match MU Visions paint. Also this guy is on the new standard Buck. If anything, MU version will rise a bit, because those that waited for an update will be disappointed. Similar to what happened to Beast last summer. The SHS is even harder to come by while the MI version peg warms HARD! They don't even sell on ChinaBay for under a fiver shipped that Beast.

This one gives us 4 versions. Standard, Phasing, Cinematic, and New. Even with the options, I don't foresee the standard dropping any value. He is an awesome addition to those that have him. Any of the others will do just fine though.

ukmu 12-09-2015 11:18 PM

I am looking forward to Rage the most though in the spring. This winter I will be grabbing Yondu and Triton.

This summer I am all about Lockjaw! But, now I need two yellow female blanks once I get him. Crystal and my long awaited dream, Hellcat. Yellow is near impossible to paint and remain playable/posable. Firestar is too spendy as a base.

Well not new for a while now, there have been two or so looks since this one although technically this one is like the eventual last look since Iron-Lad/Kang made him out of his future's Vision or whatever. Either way it's a good look and if you already have classic Vision then you can get this one too since in the comics he was a slightly different version of himself what with all the time displacement.

ukmu 12-10-2015 05:28 AM

Well spotted... I meant "new" as offerings not as in uniform.

It is always nice for people to get versions for different teams. I personally stick to a strict one figure per character collection. Well, that and army building to 50 of the same figure...... So, yeah.

I don't have the phasing variant but he does look cool. I have seen some fantastic shots of the translucent figures. I think Radioactive Man is in my top five favourite figures. Speaking of which... What are some figures we don't have that could do with a "clear" version?

kostej 12-10-2015 06:23 AM

I hope that Living Laser gets translucent version. He would look cool that way.

There are several translucent Iron Man figures - blue hologram figure, light-up base Extremis armor and Inferno armor Iron Man and maybe others.

theArchivist 12-10-2015 08:49 AM

Those are the only 3 translucent IMs that I know of.
