I did that for metal absorbing man and the iron patriot variant. Should have kept my archangel death mask in there too

Haha. I couldn't find it cheaper anywhere else, and I never go hunting retail... so yeah. Plus Astral Strange is drying up. Won't be long before the value doubles. Same thing happened w the other variants. Plus... it was literally the only fig on my "most desired" list.

I pulled a LORD MARVEL and treated myself. Lmao.

Alright guys, I am no expert in writing or storylines, but I have been wanting to do something like this for a long time. I also loved the story arc "Old Man Logan"...if you havnt read this yet get on the ball, especially since it is digitized!

so here goes...

In my mind I thought of Old Man Logan, and I am basing these characters somewhat off of that...

But I think what might best put these two together would be a world in which Cap was never found. Villains rule in a ruthless manner....(again very Old Man Logan-ish)...Heroes are either dead, or fight alone and have been beaten down by the organized villains over and over.

Two have met up finally and here they are, roaming the country looking for other heroes to join up in a fight against villainy and a doomed world that dies more every second...

First is Mr. White AKA Logan, virtually un-killable, as he has an "uncanny" healing factor and his adamantium skeleton doesnt hurt either. 3 retractable claws pop out of his fists if you dont mind your p's and q's around him, he has a short temper...also is on the united states top ten wanted list...BUB
http://i1113.photobucket.com/albums/...ltverse001.jpg
Next is his partner in crime. Hawkeye. He was able to survive this harsh world solely on the fact that he is human, and is unidentifiable to federation lists that exist it an attempt to keep "do-gooders" from rising against the evil souls who have destroyed the country. He has a variety of specialized arrows he can put wherever he wants with his dead-aim accuracy, but doesnt limit his use to just his bow, he also is proficient with whatever weapon is at his disposal, he typically carries a few sidearms and an assault rifle to supplement his bow and arrows...
http://i1113.photobucket.com/albums/...ltverse002.jpg
Together they know there are others out there...in the vast wasteland that is the united states, they both know it is only a matter of time before they find more like themselves who are tired of living in fear...
http://i1113.photobucket.com/albums/...ltverse003.jpg
{Hope you guys like these...as I had some free time to do these today, and I hope I can make more of these in the future!}

Aren't you an opener now? This is how it all starts going downhill again... (says the guy who finally stopped compulsively buying an extra to keep MOC).

I was hoping to trade a variant Electro or variant Iron Spidey for a clear strange, even a loose one.

I managed to find one MOC and one to open of those two variants, but I don't need the MOC ones anymore. Strange never showed up anywhere near me. Or the maskless cap. Sometimes MU distribution drives me nuts!

As it stands, I don't know if I'll get any takers.

Great customs, and yes great story, you need the Hulk to go with them!

shortysben 04-23-2012 03:30 PM

Think I am waiting for the new one before I try anything with hulk...er before Mr. White and Hawkeye stumble upon him...

Yeah I'm an opener now. I have only two MOC, Warbird and Showdown Beast. Astral Strange makes it 3. Trust me, I've been in this long enough to know I will never go back to collecting carded. Haha. :)

Hope you find Astral Strange soon. In my opinion its one of the best variants out there. Super cool.

I remember when Strange first came out, I stumbled upon like 6 astral stranges, I bought 2, one for me, one for my buddy in town who also collects.

I would have bought more to trade...but at the time I remember the Regular Strange was hard to find, I thought I would never find him...boy was I wrong...

I still have that Strange MOC, I usually dont open the variants as I have reg strange open in with my collection...

Just like you Shockwave, I too was once a MOC collector...no more, I only collect open now

Boba Fettuccini 04-23-2012 03:44 PM

I just did some measurements... turns out the new MU bucks are actually 1:16 scale, not 1:18. So for those of you who like to do dioramas, 1:16 furniture and stuff should be a pretty decent match.

see I started collecting loose then went to mostly MOC,now its a mix, what is it about collecting loose vs. MOC that you like?the thing that always holds me back from opening is that certain figure that looks so cool on card, its almost like you have to open it as soon as you buy it,otherwise it gets harder to open.

uberlad 04-23-2012 04:02 PM

My MU MOC stuff was always meant as backup, or as a collection for my kid when he gets older.

Other things I bought because they were rare or looked cool in the packaging, but all they do is collect dust.

When it comes time to sell off the collection, though, the MOC stuff will be the first to go.

I just like the artwork on the card that the figure looks great against for me.
