Looks like the Tamashii flame effects and the Castle Grayskull stands.

I did something similar last year:

I feel the wave is very so so.... basically repaints and reissues. I can honestly wait til they hit retail to grab me an iron fist.

And Nico! don't forget Nico!

I think you mean ENCHANTRESS. ;)

Well, I do want another of her in this recolor but I'm also content that I got the SDCC set. So I can wait patiently until I see her at retail or close to retail on Amazon.

Otherwise, yes, I would be completely frothing at the mouth and probably ordering the case just to ensure I got her.

Naaah, Enchantress was much more likely to get an action figure than Nico. I mean, we're comparing a top-tier supervillain Master of Evil with over 50 years of comics under her belt, versus a teenage hero that still falls into the 'semi-unknown' category and has only been around for a bit over a decade.

I mean, hell yeah I'm excited for both, but I almost exploded when Nico was confirmed.

(Also technically Enchantress falls into the 'repaints and reissues' category that was being responded to, while Nico is all-new).

The flames are Chinese knock offs and the cobblestones are from MOTUC. Thank you for the compliment.

Thanks! It turned out very nice.

Well I just finished the Brood saga in Onimbus 3 and man, that was excellent. The writing of this arc was back to what I came to expect from Claremont, so I am okay with how meh 145-153 were. I loved every minute of it from Scott finding out Corsair is his dad to the very concept of the Brood and their impregnating the X-Men (hmmmmmm, I wonder what the influence was...) and I liked how Wolverine stopped it with his healing ability. The whole aspect that cured the rest of them was weird though, as was Ms Marvel suddenly turning into Binary.

Anyway, I can't wait to see what happens after this. Next up is an annual featuring the return of Dracula, which was a pretty enjoyable, albeit weird, issue, and God Loves Man Kills, which I have heard is absolutely fantastic.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention the issue with Rogue in the Pentagon. That was well done too although Rogue's hairstyle is horrifying. Was she trying to cosplay as Wolverine?

Man, now I really wish the animated series had actually done the real Brood and not those giant green cockroaches they did. What the hell were they thinking?

It had something to do with the censorship/BS&P that Fox was operating under at the time for children's cartoons, so they were probably thinking that they wanted to adapt the story without it getting canned.

And I pre-ordered Iron Fist and Nico at Dorkside. Figure I'll take my chances with the two movie figures at retail. Still undecided on picking up the rest of the wave.

See I don't have that one i only got the Amazon 4-pack one and she ain't the best. Marvel legends MCU figures without a mask namely captain America, Iron man, Bruce Banner, Thor, amazon widow, and Doctor Strange all look nothing like the movie actors. Which is a shame. The Shield 3-pack and falcon have good likeness.

Augustus_Cole 09-01-2016 12:41 PM

Curious....does anyone keep a tally(meaning a website or a person) of how many Legends figures have usually come out per calendar year??

I haven't even been collecting for a year yet but this seems like it's been a great year for figure releases.

For you long time collectors...how does this year rate in SHEER NUMBER as well as in FIGURE SELECTION...??

Thanks, again. The KO flames come in a variety of colors not offered by Bandai.

- yellow (which can look pretty cool when offsetting the red Tamashii flames) and black:

Glad you liked it. Now, the rest of the first half of Claremont's run (up to the point the crossovers start) don't contain any stories that are epic as what already came before this, the Brood Saga being in my mind the last epic story arc until those crossovers hit. However, you will find a TON of great stories with a lot of character development, even if they begin to meander slightly with mini-arcs. Not to say it's bad in any way, just not as good as UXM #94-167. Of course that's just my opinion, your milage may vary.

Going by wikipedia, we'll have had 7 waves this year. Last year we had 6 and that was the most up to that point. I highly suspect we'll see 7 next year IF the Wolverine wave rumor is true, 6 if not (the three we've already seen, plus a pretty much for sure Thor wave, and I suspect a Spider-Man HC wave and a third Spidey wave end of the year.)

So I'm going to say 6-7 waves a year from this point on is likely. As far as actual number of figures, I'm not sure. A lot....more than ever for sure.

SymbiSpidey 09-01-2016 01:32 PM

I'm pretty sure Hasbro has said this is the most figures they've released in a single year, and I'm willing to bet that it's probably the most Legends we've seen in a single year. Tallying everything up we had:

Absorbing Man (8)
Red Onslaught (8)
Giant-Man (7)
Space Venom (7)
Juggernaut (9)
Abomination (7)
Dormammu (9)
SDCC Exclusive (5)
TRU ANAD Avengers (3)
Wal-Mart Civil War Exclusives (2)
Target Exclusive War Machine/Iron-Man (2)
Civil War 3-pack (3)
Walgreens Exclusive Punisher + Namor (2)

Which totals out to around 72 figures released this year. I feel like I might forgetting something though but holy shit!

And as far as character selection goes.....X-Men alone makes this year A+

Harbinger 09-01-2016 01:40 PM

I agree ith ya symbi i just wish the x wave was more plentiful. It seems to have completely dried up everywhere except tor the occasional ice man. Its like the tru wave part duex. :(

What were the 'TRU ANAD Avengers (3)' again?

SDCC was 6. Just nitpicking, no offense intended. And big thank you for going through and making the tally!

@larryw3158, the ANAD Avengers set was Vision/Kate Bishop/Falcap.

Jiminy Christmas. The fact that I've bought 23 figures from this year at this point, and haven't even hit the halfway mark, is daunting as hell.

So far this year, I have:

BAF: Giant Man, Space Venom, Abomination, Juggernaut, and Onslaught.

Figures: Nick Fury, Black Panther, Rouge, Deadpool, Giant Man (Walgreens), Task Master, and Scrouge.

I'm happy with the figures I have, but these year I don't see my self buying whole waves...maybe X-Men wave...but, I see myself getting at least one or two figures from each...and, I am must say, most of the BAF have been a pleasant surprise, to me...thought lack of size would be a problem or some early previews pictures made some of the BAF look off and less eye pleasing...but the BAFs I have in hand, have got me collecting somewhat, again...

Spyne98 09-01-2016 06:48 PM

Wow, I didn't realize we have gotten/ will get some many legends this year. It's a good time to be a collector, even if my wallet hates me.

Starlord67 09-01-2016 06:51 PM

WOW!!!Every figure secured thus far except Winter Soldier, Spider Beotch and the Dr. strange wave!!! Yowza!!
