Excellent point... Consider it done.

Thanks for the start up. Glad you got it. Enjoy.

After having some time to mess around with Hobgoblin and Electro, I am a big fan of both figures. I took the plunge and modded the Toybiz Hogbgoblin head to fit the Hasbro body. It looks good, but I don't know yet if I like it more or less then the standard head included with the Hasbro version. Both headsculpts are very nice. I almost wonder if I should have done it now, but I do like having the option of displaying him more like the classic Goblin look. I tried to re-create his first appearance panel in the comics with one of my photos. That's sort of how I envision Hobby when I think of him. I'm not as big of a fan of the Toybiz cape however. It always seems to shift around. The Hasbro cape stays in place better and I like the size of it more. Combining the toybiz head with the Hasbro cape works well and provides a different look.

So I spent yesterday and today watching seasons 3 and 4 of Spider-Man and ugh. Sins of the Fathers was a really well done arc with a lot of great stories to it, especially the Dare Devil, Venom/Carnage, and Goblin Wars ones. I never realized Baron Mordo was done by Tony Jay before nor that John Venon voiced Doctor Strange. As a whole, this arc was fun and the highlight of the entire series. Even "The Spot" episode was decent and made sense now that I've seen the damn thing in order. Unfortunately, then comes in Partners in Danger, which was so damn boring. It wasn't bad enough to have Peter whining about MJ every 5 seconds, but things never made sense. The first three episodes were good with Robbie being framed, the Cat, and then the Black Cat, but afterwards, it all goes downhill from there. The relationship between Spidey and BC never made sense as sometimes he was all into her while other times he wasn't because of MJ. WHAT THE FUCK!!? And Felicia being totally in love with Spidey until Morbius returned was utter bullshit. Then we have the sudden return of MJ that comes out of the blue in such a horrible manner that it feels forced as if the writers were all like, "Okay, we don't know what else to do, so let's just bring her back and not have her have any memory of what happened." Add in a sudden marriage and a really piss poor finale and you have one mess of a story arc. None of these stories felt like they had anything related to each other. I also don't like how Anut May, MJ's aunt, and Scorpion suddenly have new voices. The only memorable moment for this entire arc for me is when Scorpion's girlfriend says she has saved up $500 to help him and Vulture retorts with, "Ohhhhhh, a whole $500?" That was hilarious. Lastly, I watched the wedding episode which did have some funny moments between JJ and Kingpin, ultimately though, this episode was just as boring as the last 8 episodes have been. I really hope things improve with the rest of the series, but if memory serves me correctly, they don't.

the series wasn't 100% how i remembered it, while i still enjoyed most of the cartoons, i really didn't like how it ended. not sure if you got there yet.

Dr Kain 09-07-2016 09:52 PM

Nope, I still have 12 episodes left. The Captain America 4 parter, the Secret Wars crap, the MJ is really Hydro Girl bullshit, and then the original Spider-Verse.

Oh yeah, in X-Men news, I just finished the Wolverine four parter with him in Japan. That was an excellent mini series. Also, in the main book, Rogue has joined the X-Men. Honestly, it felt underwhelming. I thought there was going to be some big bad revelation that led her to becoming an X-Man. Instead, it's like,

Rogue - "I want to join the X-Men because reasons."
Xavier - "Okay."

Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii iiiight.

Haha those toons back in the 90's is good for what it is IMO. Considering they were catering to kids/adults back then I think...

Meh, compared to the likes of Gargoyles, BTAS, Beast Wars, and Animaniacs though...

Gargoyles was the shit. I loved that show with a huge bowl of Count Chocula.

My new job has strict web filters and they block ToyArk! Bah! Time to find a new job lol.
But in all seriousness, the 90's Spider-Man and X-Men shows have a special place in my heart, but that animation didn't age well in my opinion.

How dare they!?!?!....well that kinda sucks...
That'd never be an issue where I work because I'm the one that does the 'blocking and unblocking' ;)

Batman and Gargoyles have both aged quite well including terms of animation. Sadly Beast Wars' animation is notably dated but the story is actually still pretty strong and some of the voice work is great.

Gargoyles has by far sme of the most mature story telling out of any cartoon to date.

As for Beast Wars, yes, the animation is dated, but the stories are so good that it doesn't matter.

very hard to find Gargoyles in decent quality out there on the net. i have the whole series and was dying to watch it because it was another favorite of mine, however just not too many good ones out there.

If anyone has a android computer or android phone there is a way to stream ALOT of classic shows. so many it'll boggle your mind.

I'm suprized you haven't watched the 90s Incredible hulk cartoon. first season was excellent, second season kinda got more kiddish. supposedly via wikipedia they changed it dramatically due to the first season being too "dark" . i've tried a few of the other 90s marvel cartoons they just can't get me interested enough to give them a watch.
