Just saw some concept art/promo pics of Scott's new Ant-Man/Giant-Man (YAY!) suit and of course I have to wonder what the chances of getting a decent figure of it are. Maybe this time instead of the ant steed there will be a set with a 3.75 Ant-Man with a larger Giant-Man figure?
Sure would be nice. Then I could have the first movie Ant-Man be Hank and the Civil War figure be Scott. |

Anyone know when the smalljoes.com 3.75" ML pre orders are gonna arrive? I don't remember but I think they mentioned a Dec. 15 date but I'm not sure if that's the day they ship stuff out. I'd assume that they're arriving soon since they've hit ChinaBay.
Sorry if I sound stupid. First time pre-ordering something. |
^ I've never ordered from them before, but I've heard they take a really long time.

Not a fan of this Rogue at all, but I could see many GiJoe collectors snatching her up to add to their Dreadnoks.

I am always a sucker for phasing/growing/shrinking pictures! Thanks for that shot. Did you guys see the Lego sets for Civil War? There is a figure of Ant-Man that rather cool and a bit of a spoiler. I like it though. |

Fun little diagram showing exactly how far ahead of Hasbro Mattel is in business and exactly how little licensed Comic property sales matter for both. If you don't think either one pays enough attention to the comic fans, well here's some numbers why.

"Star Wars is likely to make $750 million a year for Hasbro and Marvel $300 million, Wissink said, adding that she expects Hasbro's sales to top Mattel's in about five years." The Force is with Hasbro as movie licenses power sales | Reuters I have no idea how accurate that prediction is but $300mil is nothing to sneeze at. I read through one of the hasbro reports a while back and it seems like I never could find a solid dollar figure on marvel only sales. |
all of the specific brands they seem to track are owned by the respective companies, (except star wars, but being it's the biggest action figure property of all time I can understand them tracking it) it's easier to say how much profit you make off a line if your not paying royalties. hell, they may not publish specific earnings to non company brands so competitors cant figure out what the royalty percentage is and under cut them.

Somebody needs to post that on Matty, just to rub their noses in it. I wonder about things like Barbie, is the market at saturation or do they have room to expand? If not, then they need to do it somewhere else, and if they are as unconcerned with DC as everyone keeps saying, that is pretty much what they have left to expand into. Now they just need to go out and hire someone who knows how.

They are required by law to disclose all profits to their shareholders as a publicly traded company. Also, if Marvel hits the $300m in sales, sadly the big boost in profits will be from Mashers and Avengers Age Of Ultron stuff. Namely, 2.5" and the Titian series. The Legends (6") will be a small percentage of that $300m with our scale, most likely, halving that.
Internationally the 3.75" line is doing well. You can find all the waves throughout region 2 in several stores. Their switch to new branding and lowered articulation worked. Albeit, they seemed to bypass the U.S. market entirely. I suspect that has more to do with U.S.retailers than Hasbro though. |

Here's a random thought.
If they do one of those 3 foot figures like they did for Godzilla, Superman, batman, and power rangers, but of Galactus(celestial variants?) or more likely Antman and Wasp, would you buy them? How well do those scale to the Marvel line? Quote:
The question isn't how important it is to the company overall though anyway. The question is how important it is to the people that have the jobs of picking and making the figures to have it successful so they have continued employment. Toy line goes under, so do the positions that run that line. It's those employee's jobs to make it successful so it is important to the higher ups. |
