I don't hate the cover idea but maybe he should use a cover and figure who can actually do the pose.

IzzyTipsy 12-10-2024 06:58 PM

Is Captain Carrot that popular?

3rd one...and yet we have a whooping one comic Supergirl in the entire line.

More like Z list. Never popular enough to ever get one bit of merchandise throughout the years...even Abush Bug got a mini mate. But someone at Mcfarlane is apparently a fan, since they couldve just as easily put a rabbit head on a Superman buck, called it a day & no one would've given a shit.
Instead he gets an all new sculpt(beautifully proportioned, no tiny head & long legs here), multiple hands, articulated ears lol. Most of that is specific to him too.
So yeah a bit of a paradox there but, within the vast glut of batmans & supermans, im glad some of these obscure, odball characters are getting some love.

it just boggles my mind so many A and B list characters still don't have figure in this line but this Z list characters has 3 regular CE platnium CE and glow in the dark

Kong should have been a megafig. Who needs a tiny Kong from McFarlane when you can get plenty of them?

It's a great sculpt, but he has like three points of articulation.
Why did they decide to include a Batman figure that's out of scale instead of making a poseable Kong?

I can buy a Spinmaster Batman and just use one of my Hiya Kong figures.
Not that I'm gonna...

The Platinum '78 Superman has made it out overseas. It features a darker costume, as seen in Superman 3. The alternate head has red heat vision eyes.

Expect to never see that in the wild, and unless you're one of the lucky few who gets it randomly shipped to them, expect to pay no less than $60-$100 on ebay for what will probably be the most sought-after Platinum figure.

Atomsmasher 12-13-2024 10:57 AM

My sister is very lucky with platinum figures. Crazy lucky. Found me five of them in a few weeks and has found me like four or five waves of platinums. I think she must be in a collector free area. She found me the platinums of starfire, penguin, green lantern, clock king, ragman, huntress and Geoforce. I had the chance to buy more but in some cases just no desire. Superboy, cpt boomerang, sgt rock, manga batman.

The ONLY PE I have never seen in the wild was Knightfall Catwoman. The rest I have found.

They shoulda included a nick cage head with that drunk superman chase.

Atomsmasher 12-13-2024 01:22 PM

Firmpulse that's more luck than I have. For collectors the only one I have seen is Grid. I don't know how my sister finds them I'm just grateful she enjoys helping me out.

IzzyTipsy 12-13-2024 02:41 PM

My one buddy finds like all the Platinums. And then sells them on Facebook for profit.

Meanwhile I ain't seen shit outside of the pure luck of finding TDK Catwoman twice.

I never found her or the grey animated colored one. And i sure as fuck aint paying those nutkickingly high scalper prices.

jayvee 12-13-2024 04:55 PM

If i see that superman, either one, I'll leave it. Blah

jayvee 12-13-2024 04:59 PM

For an amazing platinum Canary, or Zatanna, or Power Girl, or Harley, or Supergirl, or Big Barda, I'll gladly pay a premium. What do I know, I love The Psycho Pirate figure. It may be one of the most striking things ol Todd has given me.

that's a terrible idea no way am should anyone want to pay a premium price for Zatanna or any female figure.Thankfully Mcfarlane got so much shit over the Crisis wave they probably won't be doing that again

snake5289 12-13-2024 05:38 PM

I must've gotten lucky with the Platinum Flash Batfleck I found. I think the Walmart had just restocked the shelves or something.

jayvee 12-13-2024 05:40 PM

I'll happily disagree. The paint scheme on Psycho Pirate was exceptionally well done. People paying 30 plus for a Captain Carrot? Let em. I'll pay 40 all day long for what I want and in the paint scheme I want.

I wanted the Question figure. Initially. The chase aspect of it was a complete turn off. I lost all interest in it. I'll pass on it even if I see it in store. My collection is massive. Like, I've sold so much stuff over the years just to try and keep it manageable, that at this point the heart wants what the heart wants. And it wants a premium Power Girl figure, chase or no chase, with an amazing sculpt and paint detail. If I could pay a super super premium and order it exactly as I want it I would probably be even happier.

En Sabah Nerd 12-13-2024 08:07 PM

The fact that the Chris Reeve Superman has a chase at all kinda pisses me off, now I get to worry that my online pre-order will arrive as the chase that I don't want and I'll have to restart trying to get a normal one.

Platinum Batfleck from The Flash 2023 is highly unpopular and readily available. I'm in the minority because I think it's a cool figure. And it is screen accurate. If you go on eBay, 99.999% of the prices are close to MSRP. I'm guessing it's unpopular because it's a little bit too light compared to on screen. Batfleck's Blue and Grey on screen is dark but the figure not so much.

I like it. Reminds me of the suit from Arkham Origins and the lighter grey makes the armor stand out more.

Aside from getting shipped the Platinum Huntress from Best Buy (which is the one I wanted anyway), the only luck I've had with Platinums was finding the Red Hood/Question wave in Target, of which I only wanted Red Hood. I just figure that Superman figure wil be extremely popular because it's Christopher Reeve, and because a lot of people have been asking for the darker suit from Superman III.
