He looks good as Strange. I would have preferred Aidan Gillen but BC is what we've got and is better than some of the other options that were rumored at one time or another.

As far as figures, I'd like to think we'd get something, but I kind of think not, unless it's in the Avengers Assemble line. We didn't get much for Ant-Man (just the Ant-Man with the Ant as far as non exclusives, right?) Every time I look at that 2.5" stuff I can't help but feel this line is getting shafted.

LordMudd 12-28-2015 10:34 AM

The only reason for going that small is to make affordable vehicles and playsets, which they have not done, and these are small enough to be swallowed. I wouldn't get them for my kid. While there may be many stories as to why 3.75 inch was chosen, there is a reason why it has remained the standard, and both common sense and good business practice dictate that you stick with what works. The action figure landscape is filled with lines that failed for this very reason, someone thought they were smart, but they were proven wrong.

You forgot the plague on action figures and video games - Disney Infinity/Amiibo figures and Hot Toys mini statues

Psycho Pirate 12-28-2015 12:27 PM

And bootlegs. And RC helicopters.

Yeah I went browsing yesterday in some of the backwoods areas near me. I saw a ton of legends and 2" stuff peg warming hard. There were ant man legends going for $9, that legends vision/hulk/Ultron was peg warming on clearance at $25, the AOS 3 pack too. It's just so much easier for collectors and parents to spend $10-$13 on 4" stuff than it is to spend $20-$23 on the dolls. I finally did see some force awakens 3.75" black series figures. I was surpriesed to see those go for more than the 6" ones online. There is clearly a demand for 3.75" stuff and it's not being supplied as well as the 6" stuff, which may wind up costing hasbro some $$$ profit. I think hasbro will realize the mistake and bring the 4" stuff back soon (fingers crossed).

I don't know about soon, but I expect it to be far faster than Mattel ever could.

We won't get any 2.5" from it. We'll get the same for Strange as Ant Man. Maybe an exclusive 4" Stephen, a Legends Wave, and a Select of the Doctor.
A Lego set, of course, and 2 or 3 Pop Funkos, but I doubt they're doing a Titan or a GG.

Ninjinister 12-28-2015 03:55 PM

They shooped some eyebrows on Cumberwhatever.

MUfan97 12-28-2015 04:09 PM

I hope we get at least ONE 3 3/4 inch figure from this. Fix the area around the mustache, and we might be able to get a semi-decent Sherlock custom out of it...

Though I'm mainly happy about how comic accurate his costume is.

Good thing Legends are now including the 3.75" line :)

Or you could get the 5" Sherlock figure and shrink his head.

Do they still say "flark" and "d'ast?"

Kamatayan 12-29-2015 09:37 AM

Love all the new Doctor Strange pictures and I think they'll do it the same way they did Ant-Man. An ML 3.75" MCU Doctor Strange and if we're REALLY lucky they might add a big figure with it (if we are blessed by the gods we might just get a Dormammu) similarly to how they added the giant flying ant to the MI MCU Ant-Man.

And going back to a older topic, if any of you want to make the MCU Kilgrave kitbash with the 3.75" DW figures you should check your local Gamestop. All of the Gamestop's I've been to recently had all of the necessary figures for around $10.

Il Cattivo 12-29-2015 10:42 AM

^did you see the 12th doctor with purple shirt?

deathofthelines 12-29-2015 11:53 AM

Last time I was in a GameStop they had batman stues and doctor who monopoly and other non video game items. I think some are expanding their merchandise to non video game items.

LordMudd 12-29-2015 12:25 PM

I was told by a B&N employee that Gamestop was stocking Funko, but when I checked all I saw was Pops, not what I was looking for.

Huh. I'll admit it's been like 2 years since I've been in one... but then again nothing had changed since I'd worked in one 10 years ago so I assumed they'd never "upgraded" to something new.

For a little over a year now. I started seeing mine carrying some Star Wars toys (mostly the 3.75") and some almost random DCC stuff (except for the Arkham game figures which make more sense).

Gamestop bought Thinkgeek so a lot of stuff that was sold on Thinkgeek is being sold in Gamestop now including collectible toys, hell I even saw a Figma figure at one. I also recall reading that Gamestop will open a new chain of stores specifically for collectibles.

My local stores all have/get the Pops and legacy figures (some Game of Thrones but mostly Evolve, Fallout, and Skyrim).

Idk...The face looks a bit off at the current scale...I'm not sure how it would look after the shrinkage process.

You are not missing much, at least not at the local ones. I stop by occasionally and almost never buy anything.

Kamatayan 12-29-2015 10:20 PM

Don't know why everyone is surprised about Gamestop having this stuff around. I'm in the NYC area and they've had this stuff for a while but the only reason I noticed those specific DW figures were because I was keeping an eye out for them unlike before. Thought everyone knew this.

But I have stumbled upon an epic Gamestop. It has a bunch of Japanese statues/figures in glass cases and a lot of Figuarts stuff. They also have a MASSIVE section filled with the Pop stuff. Tbh, I think massive is kind of an understatement. They also had a ton of the DC 7" figures. I don't know any specifications on what lines they were from since I don't know much about the DC lines at all. If anyone wants to check this place out for yourselves here's the address: 9110 Atlantic Ave, Ozone Park, NY 11416.

It might have been there but I didn't look. All I bothered to look for was the Peter Capaldi Doctor with the fully purple coat that was ideal for Kilgrave. It wasn't the one that was half purple. It was the fully purple one. Along with him I saw the Tennant Doctor figures. Again, there were probably a lot more but I didn't check for them.
