I've only seen the X-men wave/remnants twice. The first time, I was traveling 2 hours out-of-town and stopped at a Walgreen's. They had the entire X-wave, minus Deadpool. The second time, I went to my local Walmart and oddly enough stumbled across a lone Rogue figure. |
Also starting to see more Giant Man wave remnants, aside from the two BPs I picked up and sold back last month I haven't seen anymore of him. I have seen a few Fury's though but because he seems easier to find I haven't picked up.
X-Men wave have yet to see Deadpool, Wolverine, and Rogue in the wild. Saw a Cable once. Seeing plenty of Phoenix, Kittys, Iceman and Havok figures. I honestly think that people are not seeing how awesome a figure Kitty is. I guess she's plain but she really is amazingly done. |
Cap Nash, you familiar with the two walmarts in Murfreesboro? Go to the one that's not across from target. If that makes sence.

Okay, so here's some quick thoughts on my recent purchases:
Sam Wilson Captain America - Is this guy a 100% new mold? Because he looks and feels like it. Aside from his elbows being a little inhibited for... some reason, he's an amazing figure, and would be nearly perfect if he HAD SOME DAMN WINGS. I will figure out a way to rectify this. Kate Bishop - Slick as hell. I'm loving Kate, and she looks really nice displayed next to Hawkeye and Mockingbird (and, as in canon, she actually outshines Clint). Only gripes I have are that the bow is not really her bow (looks a little awkward from some angles), and a non-glasses alternate head would've been a great addition. ANADM Vision - Well, he's better than Hulkbuster Vision in almost every way. More interesting color scheme, sharper head sculpt, collared cape that doesn't do that awful 'swoosh' sculpt... some of the paint scratches easily, though, and I'd really like some 'open' hands for him, since he's often doing open-handed poses. Cable - I was surprised by how much I like this guy. His sculpted armor does a good job of hiding just how articulated he is. Holds his guns well and looks really nice as a display piece, especially if you have a connected character to pose him with (IE Hope or Deadpool) Havok - Despite being one of my favorite X-Men, not a whole lot to say about Havok. Basic body-type, sharp paint (especially the silver on mine), love the energy blasts. Just wish it had been literally any other costume, and that he had come with an angry/screaming head option. Iceman - I see why people have problems with his limbs, but so far he's been good to me. I love the angular parts of his sculpt, and he really makes the best of his translucent plastic and deco. But, like many others, I'd really like some ice accessories - particularly a blast and/or an ice slide. But a very nice figure and great use of the lankier body-type. Kitty Pryde - Solid all around - deco, sculpt, articulation. I can see why she's getting a lot of love for customs (she and Kate share the same 'newer' female body, I believe). The included Lockheed is fantastic, though is he supposed to peg onto her shoulder? There's a notch/peghole on there, but he has no corresponding peg. Not that he needs it to stay on, mind you. Phoenix - Like many have said, would have benefited from flame accessories of some sort. Overall, a great figure with a fantastic and sharp deco, though the hair throws it off a little - something more flow-y and less 'big mass of plastic' would have fit better. Mine has some absurd wall-eye going on, so hopefully I can find another in the wild (unless someone has an extra Phoenix head they'd like to get rid of? :D) Wolverine - He's stumpy and I love it. His added butterfly joints in the shoulder/chest really give him a lot of needed range for those classic claws-out poses. Speaking of the claws, mine are all straight (thank goodness!), but from the side, they don't all stick out at the same angle/elevation. But when looking from straight-on, they're sharp as hell (PUN!). Deco is fantastic and I definitely won't be needing another Logan. Only gripe is, again, the lack of an alternate head - where's Wolvie with that bestial snarl? Deadpool - WAY TO EAT UP THE ACCESSORY BUDGET, WADE. But seriously, his arsenal is half the reason I even got him, to share it with other figures. I love that he can actually holster half of his weapons, and the taco is a neat little 'joke' accessory (though it has trouble fitting in either hand). Unmasked head is appropriately 'glech' while still mass-retail-friendly. His wrists are a bit limited by his gauntlets, sadly, so no 'whatcha thinking about?' poses for Mr. Wilson. Rogue - Dreams come true. I have nothing bad to say about this figure. Sculpting, articulation, and deco are all on-point, and she comes with the only accessory she really needs - an open bare hand for 'power-stealing' poses. Amusingly, she seems to share the majority of her body mold with Captain Marvel. Only concern is that my particular Rogue got hit with the 'bad face paint' stick, and her eyes don't line up with her sculpt at all. Anyone got an extra Rogue head they'd be willing to trade? Otherwise I'm still keeping an eye open for one in the wild. Juggernaut - I was not expecting him to be so big until my wife assembled him, and HOLY. CRAP. It feels like he takes up a third of the storage bin! And he's properly toyetic - shiny in all the right places, massively bulky proportions... I'd love an unhelmeted head, but what can you do. This is my perfect 'original cartoon'/'Capcom fighting game'/'original Toy Biz toy' hybrid Juggy. |
Got these in a recent trade with a local collector

Couldnt finda a my lil pony or kota huh? ;) |
@nite
You've got me at a loss, I'm assuming this is some non sequitur shit. I never watched My Little Pony, Strawberry Shortcake, or Care Bears...were the 'ponies' powerful in some manner? Edit: Also, what's a "kota?" Google didn't help...believe it or not, although I'm 'on' the internet, I avoid most of it (aside from the parts that are informative/meaningful or entertaining)... |
If Hasbro would release that Black Bolt at retail, that would be great...

lol Oh, ok. My goodness, MLP is back? I've been marginally aware of the 'brony' silliness throughout the years (a phenomenon I may have misinterpreted - the two are related, right?). This MLP subculture seems to have reignited interest in that bit of eighties mediocrity. That Kota toy is cute. The world has changed quite a bit; we rode PowerWheels (boys and girls alike), ultimately moving on to Huffy/BMX dirt bikes as kids...I think our early exposure to PW in the eighties has contributed to the country's obsession with the SUV's that many 30-40-somethings choose to drive...today's kids will ride clones of the triceratops in the future a'la the Herculoids (now there's some meritable 80's cartoon viewing)! |
