Holy shit, dude!! Awesome pics!! Really digging what you are doing with lighting, poses, and accent pieces! Very, very nice! I really need to step up my game!

I just read Ultimates 8 and 7 for background. I'll be searching for trades now...

Welcome back!

Totally forgot about that! Also curious to see what those Thor parts lead to...

Feels like I have not been on here in forever....

Awesome pics Von! I think you may have the best looking optic blast for Cyk that I have seen. Very nice!

Great Work..

side note: which wings are those you are using for SammyCap?

TheBlueMarvel 09-20-2016 07:04 PM

@Dark

Those are the wings from TB Falcon...

Struggler 09-20-2016 08:11 PM

Jeez Von, those are some awesome pics. I echo the sentiments of you guys here. I was a marvel zombie for nearly two decades, but this new stuff, I have no interest in. Now they are planning to have a Hand-brainwashed resurrected zombie Hulk. Yeesh. People blame Bendis often and I think it is mostly deserved, but these events are editorially mandated. Marvel brass is giving Bendis the go-ahead to write these stories.

P.S. This is my first time paying attention to your handle BlueMarvel. He is a character I only recently became aware of but he is awesome, imo and he is a member of the Ultimates so that's another reason for you to check out that book. It's really only one of a very few marvel books that I have any interest in these days. And oh yeah, civil war II sucks

Stunning shots and set-ups!!

Trivial Psychic 09-20-2016 10:27 PM

I just got done watching JC's review of Nico on youtube, and now I'm thinking that I might need to pick up an extra figure, or at least hope I can find her head as fodder. Now that I know for sure she is on the teen female body, I think Nico's head would make a great unmasked portrait for Mayday Parker if you are able to get rid of the ponytail and add a little bit of paint here or there.

LapuLapu 09-20-2016 11:47 PM

Awesome stuff there Von pooten.

Better not, I'm still super mad about that and what they've been doing with Black Cat

As long as the face sculpt is better than the blob wave face sculpt, more muted shade of green too

Looks to me like it could be the swoosh from a hammer, like that new Cap's shield throw thing. Perhaps a Jane Foster Thor?

warmachine6 09-21-2016 03:27 AM

I wonder how long it will take for the current MLs to change to mostly the all new all different marvel characters, i know some are coming out slowly but im talking about like a whole wave with maybe 1 or 2 different classic characters

EDIT i think the hulk and thor items shown are either for the 12 inch scale or thor ragnarok movie line maybe.

Lord willing much much longer.

Cheers for the kind words, guys! It's fun to mess about with figure set ups now and then, take a few photos.. especially when Hasbro are bringing out good stuff.

Now it's just a matter of waiting for those brilliant looking Nico and Enchantress figures..

Agree. I wouldn't mind an All New All Different Wolverine and She-Thor, but I don't want to see the line move to mostly trendy new characters. I have a feeling most of the legacy characters will be pushed aside at some point, as the originals will eventually return. I hear it's already happened with Captain America, or that both Sam and Steve and Captain America. Thor will likely return, my understanding is that the new Iron Man girl is going to be going by a different name now so that definitely leaves the door to be open for Tony to return.

From what I gather from the forums both Miles and Peter are acting as Spider-Man, and we have Kamala and Carol as Ms/Captain Marvel (so no big upset there.)

Actually the only one that I wonder if they will return is Logan, since X-23's progression was very logical, and I gather OML is around as well? Given those replacements I can see Logan's death being permanent, even though 10 years ago he was Marvel's #1 character.

But yeah, to get back on track. I do think having A figure of these legacy characters is fine. Having them to the point of excluding the original characters, not so much.

Honestly, given that they're giving the 3 3/4" line Laura!Wolverine and Jane!Thor, I'd be really surprised if Hasbro didn't lay some 6" versions on us. Maybe an Amadeus Cho!Hulk, too, to round out the major ANADM legacy characters.

But I agree. Even if the legacy characters become the permanent versions (which, honestly, I hope is the case with Laura - I love Logan to death, but the entire story of Logan and Laura has been executed so well that it deserves to stick), I don't wanna see their predecessors get excluded. Regardless of how much I love a lot of the legacy versions more :D

Besides, there's plenty of other legacy characters to expand the lines with, as well, without abandoning the 'classics'. Where's some MC2 figures beyond Mayday? Or some 2099 characters other than Miguel?

One has removable claws, it's how I photoed my X-force line-up with Logan flipping the bird. I forget which one had the removable claws. I want to say the "X-force" separate release?

Augustus_Cole 09-21-2016 12:44 PM

thnx...
i see...
SDCC: gray paint | silver claws
Single card: silver paint | gray(er), removable claws...

I believe the belt is slightly different as well, as well as the paint deco on the arms. Either Glenn Webb or Shartimus had a comparison video way back when.

No sweat, dude. I 'm home now and looking at the two of them, the buckles of the boots on the SDCC version are painted silver/metalic gray. **See below**

The belts are the same, but you are right about the arms. The "Xforce" single release has a darker skin tone and has hairy forearm paint details.

Yeah, man. That's actually the reason why I had no troubles grabbing the reissue...

Nabbed the Strange wave today and Nico is pretty amazing! She's currently in a three way tie with Danny and Astral MCU Strange (really, this is how translucent figs should be made...not really translucent, more opaque considering that only the outer extremities are see through...very solid feeling and not flimsy at all) There really isn't a loser in the bunch. Even comic Strange benefits greatly from a beautifully sculpted cloak/cape of levitation.
