While I really enjoy Chris Pratt's Star-Lord, he was very unlike the comic version in one major aspect. While both portrayals show him to be a smart ass he was so much more serious about actually saving the galaxy in the comics while in the movie he was much more self-serving. I'm curious to see how GotG2 will have him evolved if at all. |

Anyway, Episodes 3-5 were really really good, especially the last two. I'm still not a Luke Cage fan by any means, but I'm really enjoying how this show is put together as after the second episode the pacing seems to have evened out. The lighting is still top notch and despite some of the rap music, the music is extremely well executed. Can't wait to get another 3 episodes watched tomorrow. |

Found the Strange wave at Wal-Mart earlier tonight
http://i853.photobucket.com/albums/a...psarwjlsoj.jpg The only one I picked up was Enchantress and much like Star-Lord I found a really cool and really strong blacklight effect with her magic accessories. http://i853.photobucket.com/albums/a...psamtof4wk.jpg |

Initially, comic Starlord was not as personable as his movie incarnation. He definitely was a smart-ass and had a sense of humor. However, his delivery was much more dead-pan, cryptic, and callous (almost cruel); not a likeable guy from the perspective of most personality types. In the Samaritan story, Giffen shares that Peter is still transitioning from having all of his cybernetic parts removed after imprisonment in the Kyln and the guilt/grief of being responsible for the loss of countless lives. Giffen, for the most part, carries this Quill-personality over into Annihilation. Starlord softens into a more charming, and, as you alluded to, altruistic persona as time wore on and his character developed under DnA. We will likely see a similar transformation with Pratt's onscreen performance. In GotG 2, Starlord will likely become more mature/dedicated and demonstrate less of the puerile behavior that made him popular to audiences in GotG. They don't need him for laughs. Show-stealer Bradley Cooper/Rocket can handle that along with straight-man Vin Diesel/Groot...Bautista, was also surprisingly funny, but I'd rather see them tone that down too... Happy belated by-the-way!!lol |
Gods above.....i want that figure bad!

Hell, you could probably walk right into their stockroom and on one would even say a thing to you while you searched for what you wanted. |

Clearly if I were to walk into their stockroom I would just flash around my OSHA license and claim I'm doing workplace safety inspections because apparently nobody remembers what OSHA is any more. Something weird I just noticed on my receipt though from last night is that the Enchantress is listed as "DRS ANCT ONE." I guess maybe at some point there was gonna be an Ancient One figure in this wave. Or maybe Wal-Mart is just being weird again like calling Black Panther "Battler Red" in the system. |

Recent pickups...seems like my area got the X and Strange Wave at the same time...and, no Deadpool, Wolverine, Rouge, and Enchantress...Saw only one Comic Strange figure, and grabbed him...really awesome figure...nice addition of the cape...glad I held out for this one instead of the Hulk Buster Wave Strange...nice little paint change to head and forearms...nice little paint change on his chest so to be more accurate with his Sourcerer Supreme outfit in comics...really cool figure...

went to Walgreens today and picked up MCU Strange both painted and Astral version
so i have a question, whats with this Astral version of Doctor Strange? like is he a ghost? is he supposed to be invisible? I don't know a whole lot about DS so if anyone can explain what his "astral form" is supposed to be or do, that'd be appreciated both are great figures. especially the painted one with the cloak and the shield-thing. the likeness to BC is spot-on |

I work over nights and go to walmart all the time for supper. While I"m there I always check the toy section and if they ever have the stuff I'm looking for I'll open a box without hesitation. I've had one person say something to me along the lines of, "you can't open that yet you have to wait until they are on the shelf". I said "OK" and opened it anyways. They told me they are going to get the manager, to which I said go ahead. They left and I never saw them again. I got what I wanted and left. (They tell you this because of liability. They don't want you to cut your self while opening the box. Some times they will even open the box for you because of this).
The only time you have to "worry" is if they have a "street date" sticker on the box. If they do have the sticker, then it won't ring up until the date listed on the sticker. Which means you'll have a hard time when you get to the front. |

I don't know why but I think it's funny that in the movie Benedict Cumberbatch is Strange and Benedict Wong will be Wong. Benedicts assemble! A two pack of Jarvis and Wong would be kinda neat. That or they could be swap off variant figures called the "assistants of good doers!" They could come with accessories like a feather-duster for Jarvis, a broom for Wong, then both could have a tea pot on a serving tray with some cups and assorted cooking wear. Our heroes need a supporting character to help them out. |
Just Bad Ass.

Out of curiosity, how much were they at Big Lots ? I need an MCU War Machine for my collection, as well as a modern comic-based Iron Man, and for a decent price, I might finally pick them up. |

Luke Cage just keeps getting better and better. We watched episodes 6-9 tonight and this show has exceeded the first season of DareDevil, making it my second favorite of the series right now. The stuff that went down these last few episodes was pretty badass. My only nitpick is I want to see some regular costume super villains for a change, which all of these shows have been lacking. Nevertheless, we're most likely just going to finish it tomorrow because I don't want to wait any longer to see how it ends.
