The rag doll thing seems to be a common problem with that particular figure too, which is sad.

I have seen the first wave of CW, but never a BP or Nick Fury but that was only at Walmart. My Targets and TRU's nada...still sitting on old stock. I kind of think there's too much Legends coming out for retail to keep track of I feel like. Cap, X-Men, Spider-Man and now Dr. Strange. Good for us but for retail they don't know how to receive and put out the distribution.

Totally agree. Not to mention something is going on where the stores have been receiving too much stock all at once. Several stores in my area are still sitting on Thanos, Allfather and Hulkbuster waves. And it's not like the big retailers can differentiate between what's sought after and what's not within the ML line, at least not enough to put certain waves/figures on clearance to clear up the shelves.

Nice that Hasbro is knocking out so many highly requested figures, but we need to be able to actually get them at retail lol

My TRU almost never gets new products, it is really sad. They have about 20 speed demon figures from the spider-man wave sitting on the shelves. Not a single other figure.

Sadly this is typical for most of the items they stock. They have 15 2.5" diddy kong figures on the pegs for about a year now, they do not get any new waves in since the pegs are full and they never clearance them out.

They really need to learn how to cycle out non selling products so they can make some sales on new releases.

Or if they do get a restock it's the same exact wave after wave...

As was discussed a few pages back (I was voicing the same thoughts), the biggest issue is that all the figures under a given sub-header are in their computer systems under the same product number/key, regardless of the wave they're in. Which means all MLs that fall into the 'Avengers,' 'Spider-Man,' or 'Captain America' headers scan under the same number/key - straggler figures from the UGG wave are indistinguishable (in their system) from figures in the Absorbing Man and Space Venom waves. Which is why the only figures to recently go to clearance are the Ant-Man wave.

It would be great if Hasbro and/or retailers would classify them by the wave or BAF assortment rather than the primary subheader, so they could clear out their own chaff much faster, but that's kind of a doubtful hope.

Captain Nash 10-03-2016 01:13 PM

Having found the Dr. Strange wave last week, or at least the ones I wanted to buy, I realize today I and those who have also found are in the long agonizing wait until the new product from next year hits. It's like April-June all over again. :(

Maybe I should drag out those pieces to customize finally. It's definitely downtime.

LapuLapu 10-03-2016 02:50 PM

For those TRUs or Targets with multiple same figures, someone is buying from another TRU/Target (from their area) and returning those figures to a far TRU/Target so their local TRU/Target will get restock. This has been the trick/problem for us collectors.

Boy Blunder 10-03-2016 04:24 PM

So I can't comment on the legitimacy of this figure (bought it from an Asian seller and it came out of Hong Kong), but nonetheless I'm happy to tick a grail off my list...

Came loose with no accessories, but for $16 and free shipping, I'm not gonna argue. Besides, once I (finally) grab myself a set of the Tamashii fire effects, the lack of accessories won't matter to me. She needs a little paint touch-up (which was the case with my old vanilla Rachel too, so nothing new there), and she doesn't scale well with one of her old Excalibur crew (Rachel's closer to the current teen female-size figures, while the new Kitty is mid-adult-sized), but I'm very pleased with this purchase.

Dr Kain 10-03-2016 05:53 PM

Is she supposed to look like she has a disease?

Great catch! To be honest, given the value of her, she is one figure i wish I had kept in box. But..it's not like I collect for resale value I do for the toys...er collectibles.

So remember we had the discussion on possible fugures to come? I thought maybe the newer action figure variants might give us a clue. I can see these ones possibly being made. Hell i'd consider them... thoughts ?

Just started seeing the Giant-man and Juggernaut waves in full-force last month. The Dormammu wave seems to have just touched down here. No sightings in my area of the Space Venom or Abomination waves at all.

She's tapping into the Phoenix power. When she does that, her skin starts to turn black with Kirby Crackle-esque flame particles. Example:

Damn! No really, DAMN!!! That was one god damn phenomenal show!! Why did it have to be over with already? This was the first Netflix series I felt 13 episodes was way too short and I'm not even into Luke Cage. I want more and I want it now. When does Defenders come out because I don't want to wait too long to see how this story continues?!

Those are probably just done as covers and not indicative of Hasbro's plans. We've gotten a lot of these action figure variant covers and next to none have actually correlated to any real toys. Even when they do happen to correlate it's often a different costume which gets the toy or shares very little with the comic variants. I wish these variant covers were telling of Hasbro's plans because then we'd be getting a Mr. Knight Moon Knight figure but I think it's safe to say that Hasbro and Marvel don't meet to plan these.

However, one of the local Targets had someone who went through and did a parts swap for a bunch of BAF parts for the Allfather wave (why is what I wanna know), resulting in a couple of figures lingering like poor Danny here:
http://i63.tinypic.com/2j5dzdk.jpg

I don't even know what that leg is from, but I've also seen a Machine Man float around with matching arms. This happened a few months ago, and they've lingered since (though it looks like someone finally bought that forlorn Aaron). I didn't really think anything of it because that wave can be found pretty much anywhere for a dime and a song. I mean, yeah, the action was reprehensible and all parties involved should be appropriately kicked in the ass, but it just didn't ping very high on my radar.

This weekend, my wife and I were at that very Target, and saw two Dr. Strange figures sitting in a returns cart. Awesome, right? They were laying face-down, but I could see that one was Strange/Voodoo and the other was Enchantress/Nico. Naturally, I pop over closer and grab them, to flip them over...

http://i66.tinypic.com/jkd0uv.jpg

What. The. Shit.

Pretty sure whoever did this even sliced open Wanda's cape so that it would fit over Hulkbuster Strange's head there, and I can't even tell for certain what those figure pieces are (though that torso is clearly not a BAF). I can't hold this against the employees too much (because, unless they have a reason to take this up to their manager and back up that this is a toy swap, they gotta go with the corporate rules, which is to just take it back), but whoever did this needs a right beatdown.

That's Nothing! One pf my local Wal-Marts has 75% of their Marvel Legends swapped with...Hero Mashers!

I swear, either store employees hands are tied when it comes to returns or they are clueless.

I've been saying this for years now, but this is precisely why Hasbro needs to go back to the plastic clam shell packaging. It's a lot harder to tamper with and pull off stuff like this, and if items are returned, it allows employees a chance to inspect them before accepting them. This crap DID NOT happen during the ToyBiz era...

TheBlueMarvel 10-04-2016 07:44 AM

I love that Walmart's response to toy-related shrink is to repackage junk for deeply discounted rates...Genius...

Another round of these mysterious 'maybe/maybe not' knock off Captain Marvel subscription figs.

Man, I am collecting these figures so wrong. Instead of suffering with characters I don't want, I should just be swapping out the BAF pieces for pieces I don't need and returning the characters I don't want.
