After hitting 3 Targets, I was able to get a full set of MI wave 5 figures. It was still cheaper after tax to get these versus online before shipping and tax too.

Got Scout Predator in the mail today courtesy of Ebay, finally completing my Lost Predator tribe. His hand came loose at some point during the shipping process, but the joint wasn't broken at all, and will pop easily back onto the peg should he ever come out of the package.

It's not much about toys, but I did go to 2nd and Charles in Bossier City, LA the other day and bought me 2 comic book frames (only 2 for $6 so why not)....
http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/a...0409151406.jpg
....and put the only comic book I have left inside of it. I only deal w/ TPB's and/or GN's any more anyways.

http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/a...0410152042.jpg
Then went to a local Hastings and picked up a talking bobblehead of Sweet Dee from Always Sunny in Philadelphia :P

Holy crap, I didn't know they made frames for comic books. Just last night I got a frame meant for a diploma to put one of my comics in. You just gotta put in a piece of cardstock behind the comic but it fits nice, and I don't know how those frames work but I was able to leave mine in its carded sleeve too.

This is how the frame I got yesterday works when displayed.

it fits like a glove, no bag and boards tho, just the comic. anyways, the receipt from 2nd & Charles said BAM on the back of it (as in Books a Million), so maybe check your local BAM store if you have one near! *shrugs*

That's an awesome birthday gift. The MonsterArts Predator, next to my recently acquired Hot Toys, is definitely my favorite Predator that I own. It kinda pissed me off that Bandai did the Heavy Arms version so quickly off the original release, as the accessories Wolf comes with are way better for that one than the original, and I definitely would have waited. I really wish they would just release the weapons separately as an upgrade kit or something.

Hell of a gift though, and she definitely grabbed the better of the two. Your wife's a keeper!

LapuLapu 04-12-2015 01:50 PM

Thanks Trivial Psychic, yeah shes (the wife) not so bad, I think I'll keep her (the wife) :D

Oh I didnt know that there was another version of this guy, does he look different or is it exactly the same??

There were two releases of the Predator Wolf by S.H.MonsterArts, with the only differences being the accessories that they came with. The first version (which I have,) came with the two spears and whips, but it contained the medical kit, syringe, and the blue acid "cleaner" fluid cannister that he uses to get rid of "evidence". The "Heavy Arms" version (the one your wife picked up) was a Japanese only online exclusive, which sacrificed those items in favor of the various weapons he used in the movie, including the second plasma caster, shurikens, and proximity mines. The figure is otherwise the same exact figure. I purchased the first Wolf within days of it's hitting US shores, although had I known that there would have been an eventual re-release with the rest of his tools, I might have held out for that one.

What's curious, is that the original Wolf has actual spaces and ports on the figure to place these extra weapons featured in the Heavy Arms version, making me wonder if Bandai had plans to later release those parts down the line for those who purchased the figure early. Sadly though it hasn't been the case.

Stepped out to Target to grab a few things around the house, and lone behold I finally run into the standard clone trooper for the first time. (It was literally the only figure on the pegs, as there were at least 8 or 9 of him, along with two Obi Wans.)

Here are my additions I got over the weekend:

Avengers & X-men Axis Graphic Novel

http://i1100.photobucket.com/albums/...psjzhknzk9.jpg

Marvel Select Unmasked Captain America

http://i1100.photobucket.com/albums/...ps1g2prrku.jpg

I couldn’t believe that the list price for the Axis graphic novel was $49.99. Thankfully the B&N website had the book for a lower price. I also had a 20% coupon so that got the price down to a level that I feel was slightly higher than average. Having free expedited shipping didn’t hurt either. There are no tie-in’s in this novel, it’s just the regular 9 issue series so it’s only about 200+ pages in length.

Marvel Select Captain America was the last one in stock at the Disney store I visited. Thankfully this one appears to have good paint apps although I don’t think the unmasked head looks like Chris Evans all that much.

These are my first Marvel paperbacks in a long time:

http://i1366.photobucket.com/albums/...psnfxiv9ov.jpg

I don't know when they came out, but it had to be recent as I can't find listings for the second volumes yet (and noticed that DC is finally reprinting The New Teen Titans again), and had to get them.

Bradsdadg 04-13-2015 04:26 AM

Pretty sweet idea with the comic book frames, I'll have to look out for them :)

Well, the little figurines usually included with the Best Buy exclusive versions of DC's animated movies have officially gotten an upgrade. This Batman is 3.75" tall. They used to be a little smaller. Sadly, that means this one won't fit in with my others.

If anyone is interested, I'm selling my Batman vs Robin DVD disc, digital copy, the figurine, digital copy of Under The Red Hood, and a digital comic code (Batman #1, I think) as a bundle for $18 shipped in the USA. PM me if interested.
