Adam Warlock is a very welcome addition and will likely come with that Magus head En Sabah was looking for...someone is listening to you, dude. lol
Old Man Logan is a surprise given the tooling for the jacket and pants. Hopefully, we'll see a creative use for these parts in the future...maybe that version of Black Knight sporting an Avengers jacket... Shocker looks great and the add-ons for Sandman make for a huge difference. I'm unimpressed by Shatterstar, but I'm also not a fan of the character. However, he was one of those on that mysterious list of X-men characters. There may be hope yet for the characters of that perspective line-up. Edit: Not a Death's Head guy, but there's something about the fig that intrigues me...I believe it's going to photo well. |

Shocker looks great, but he could really use some tweaks on his effect. I don't think a repaint really captures the way it should look. Really digging that Sandman BAF in the background. He might actually give the ToyBiz one a run for its money... Old Man Logan looks a bit "anime" in the headsculpt, but I really like the body. Gives me hope that a talented individual out there can give us either a Hugh Jackman or Patch custom headsculpt to customize him. My Iron Fist came in from Amazon today, and left me ultimately wanting more. While I dig the figure being on the Pizza Spidey body, the articulation on it leaves much to be desired, especially below the waist. http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j1...005_162810.jpg He lacks a proper calf rotation, the hips have a limited range (which effect his ability to throw decent looking side kicks) and for some reason, his ankle joints are pegged into the feet at an awkward angle, leaving him a bit bow-legged. http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j1...005_162740.jpg On top of that, the glowing fist effect has the wrist pointing downwards, and is unable to adjust, outside of rotating it. If Iron Fist were to punch someone with his wrist and hand at that angle, he would break it. The most criminal sin though, is that the hands from the previous version of Danny DOES NOT WORK with this one. The glow effects are neat, but still, the lack of additonal options really hurts it. Unless you have to have this costume, or need to complete the BAF, I'd give it a pass and track down the white version, which has superior articulation and accessories. |
That deathshead has me salivating like homer at a donut shop!

I am very, very, VERY pleased with what I see.
Hopefully we can get some confirmation of that rumored Spider-Man and Wolverine wave. |
Extremely happy to see Shatterstar. Hoping we get a Rictor later to complete the set.

I'm hoping Spider-Man is a new sculpt because the Civil War one was completely inaccurate. |

Shocker - great !!! Old Man Logan - love the comic however the figure didn't come out perfect IMO Sandman - awesome !!! Warlock - i think i shall get him. looks like how he was just portrayed in this past Adam warlock story that came out a month or two back. Im curious as to what wave will death's head and warlock be in though ? im sure warlock would be good for a new guardians wave and Death's head doesn't really fit with any waves really.... im curious now. |
I'm shocked that they went with Old Man Logan. I was pretty confident that they would go with the tiger stripe costume since it would just be a paint swap and added shoulder pads from the recent Wolverine. Also thought it would be X-23/All New Wolverine. Definitely will get that Wolverine. I already have a painted Logan head from casting cave so I can easily swap between Old Man Logan and younger Wolverine.
Shatterstar is cool but it I wish Hasbro would have made this year's Cable in his Liefeld X-Force costume so it can go together with Shatterstar. The Sandman BAF is sweet. I really wasn't expecting much but I'm pleasantly surprised. I'll still keep my Toybiz Sandman as a regular Flint and the BAF as "in battle" version. |
Sandman - Expected, looks cool, but does he not have any regular arms? It's great that he has these sand arms, but some regular ones would be nice. I wonder if I could use some of those parts on the SDCC one.
Shocker - Need better pics, but so far he looks impressive. Hasbro is really milking those energy blasts though. Shatterstar - AWESOME!!!! That is exactly the Shatterstar I was hoping for. Logan - Unless he comes with an alternate younger head, this is the bomb of the wave for me. Death's Head II - OH MY GOD ARE YOU SERIOUS?!!! THIS IS AMAZING!!! I loved reading the first issue of DHII when he tore that lame looking original to pieces. This is a must buy. Adam Work - o_O Not sure how I feel about him, honestly. Where's the cap and the staff? BTW, I thought I posted this already, but I guess not. So I have begun to read Age of Apocalypse and finished the Legion Quest story. I wish there had been a little backstory as to when Legion regained consciousness since the last time I saw him he was in a coma, but whatever. For the most part, it was an interesting read and it was most certainly funny to be reading it before and after Flash had aired last night. I did not realize that Gaby was Legion's mother. WOW!! No wonder he is so messed up. Anyway, that four parter was a good but the Cable story that comes after that sort of takes place between those events was garbage. It added nothing important, there were a lot of inconsistencies (Angel is wearing blue and white in the four parter, but he is wearing red and white here, and also he never comes to visit Jean and Scott), and it seemed way more convoluted than it needed to be. I also felt it took away from the impact the ending of X-Men 41 made. I did also read X-Meh Alpha, the story that pretty much launches the whole series and it was good. It pretty much just gives a brief look at the way the entire world is. It kind of just felt like a generic post-apocalypitic world that has been done to death. Of course, there isn't much to go on right now, so I'll be back when I have read through more. |
FYI, IF anyone is looking for Silk or Hobgoblin in the Spaceknight Venom wave. Wal mart.com has them up currently. I ordered both just to save me the hunting later.

I hope you can exchange parts between him and the SDCC version. |

@Best
I can't tell from your pics, but is it made from the swirly plastic that Red's appears to be made of? The 'swirly plastic' is the same plastic Hasbro used to make Nova and a couple of other figs...it has a sheen/luster to it... |
Hmmm...Shatterstar, we already suspected he was coming. I'm not a particularly huge fan of the character but I will be getting as I'm definitely getting this wave. And new X-characters are always welcome.
Old Man Logan. Makes sense, though I was definitely hoping for Laura Wolverine. As with above I'm getting the wave so I'll be getting this character. Not really disappointed with this choice even if it's not Laura. Adam Warlock - I know he's wanted by many so that's great, I am happy with my Red Hulk wave version, but if he's part of GOTG (as I suspect) I'll end up getting as I plan on getting that case. Shocker - Need to see better pictures but likely will buy even though I'm not planning on getting this case. Death's Head II - Really left field choice. Wish it were Death's Head I but I will likely buy, as long as it's not a BAF I don't want much of the wave of. If it is, I can pass. If it were version I I'd have a harder time passing. |
