I added a light for effect and painted the plastic parts more silver:

Asked in the DC thread but figured to ask in here as well.
Anyone have a pic showing the scale of the Young Justice line next to Marvel Universe?

Im working on some MU customs and wondering if any parts would have use or if they are too large.
Cheshire's mask for example.

Universe 02-07-2016 02:07 PM

Did my quarterly gambit of running to all my local brick and mortar stores. Wow, nothing but BvS toys and every Legend wave including the new wave. I am so absurdly sick of 3.75 distribution here. 3 TRU, 4 Walmart, 2 Targets; and not one thing I am looking for. No new force awakens black series, no new 3.75 "legends", no Civil War Cap or Falcon. Is it too much to ask to f*** off with the BVS massive overstock and 3.75 POA pegwarmers? Is it!?

MU is 4 inch, YJ is 4.25 inch, close enough depending on what you are doing, for example-you could NOT use Robin to make Bucky.

Thanks

Mainly just parts, heads and capes.
Cheshire if the head is too big I might attempt cutting the mask off and using on an appropriate head.

Check the DC thread.

Well, at least you're not bitter. ;)

It's that way here too.... Just about every where I've been in the last year or so come to think of it (east coast, west coast, and a little in between).

Zend 02-07-2016 03:54 PM

I am not a carded collector at all, but even I am tempted to get two of each of the comic packs to keep a set of them MOC. They look so good in the packaging.

Can Jane Foster's cape be removed without cutting it off? I want to swap it for real cloth, bit be able to put the plastic cape back on.

Universe 02-07-2016 04:06 PM

I guess that's why Chinabay is prospering and retail keeps the sandman/beast wave pegwarming.

Edit: UKMU; yeah I'm salty, three lines yielding 0 results. Been doing most of my shopping online past couple of years and was surprised to see actual stores are either completely empty pegs, to pegwarming beasts, to slot not even alloted. All the while Legends spill all over the place carrying most relevant wave to 5 waves back. It's astonishing.

With four different versions of him now available, there are options. Not the options people want, but at least now they exist. Pony up the cash for.the MU version, settle for the MU variant, display a movie version or grab the upcoming figure.

Given the nature of the hobby and these forums, people will A. Not get any of above said options and complain about it....OR.... option B. Do get one of the above said options and complain about it.

haven't seen the 5PoA version, or I would. And yeah, he's not a guy that needs a ton of articulation.

I only need the Cap pack. I'll get the others if I can afford them.

I want them all. Thinking about swapping out an Ultimate Thor head and putting a Colossus arm on that Thor. That would be pretty close to an Unworthy Odinson, I think.

Well there is light at the end of the tunnel. It's been the same way here. It's been a long time since I've bought any. It was really surprising to find them. Unfortunately each store only seems to have gotten one case of 8.

They look great! However with my US friend relocated to Europe recently, I will have very hard time to get these beauties to Europe... :(

Specter 02-08-2016 04:24 AM

Has anyone tried Luke Cage or Sandman legs on Chameleon's body to make it a bit bigger?
Also can anyone say about how big Thunderstrike's head is compared to maybe Commander Rogers?

True.... I hope the SIX INCH OR NOTHING fad is dying out as the spark just isn't there. Why can't collectors decide what scale. Hate being into a box and told that six inch is the scale I SHOULD be collecting. It is an online buying hobby for the most part now. Sad, as the hunt and discovery was the the drug/reward part of it. Owing it lasts for ever but finding it is (was) a real thrill.

Madame Warlock- like two pages back new arker Oscar posted a pic. The figure looked great displayed like that, the orange peel 1970's wall behind it...not so much. ;) jk

Kostej- if you ask someone in the UK thread I'm sure they can help.

Also wondering about the TRU exclusivity of the ML3.75two packs was meant to mean in the UK only? Seeing as TRU displayed them first on the co.uk site and it went viral MAYBE other stores in other areas are OK to have them? Just a random thought. Ian tired as the Suer Bowl didn't come on until midnight here....

It's not really a "fad" when it's being pushed as much by the retailers and manufacturers as fan-demand, but I'd note there was a robust 6" Marvel market before there was a 3.75" market at all. There's certainly room for both scales, it's just that highly articulated 3.75" figures have a lower profit margin than 6" figures do these days. That, and now that Hasbro's figured out how to get 6" figures into packages that don't take up that much more space than some of the old 3.75" packages used to, they don't take up that much shelf space either (which was the biggest complaint from retailers about the 6" lines in the past).

It's money that's driving the 6" fad...more accurately the manufacturers and retailers desire for more of it. High-articulation 3.75" figures are pretty much on the way out and may likely never return...at least not at pricepoints that any non-collectors are willing to pay.

I can't stand that Mattel has just stopped with 3.75 for DC. They have so many 6 inch lines now. They even have 2 6 inch lines for Batman vs. Superman.

I understand the articulation comment, I do. But when you said he is a skilled hunter and tracker- my mind immediately went to Daryl Dixon and I have never seen him do anything that the Yondu articulation can't do.

I'm not siding with Hasbro I'm just slowly beginning to accept them as they are. Not as what they could be. Anyway.... Yondu is who i am looking for the most as well.

Dang need to check my stores, called TRU they had the peg warmers but grabbing them anyways first.

Haha yup FM has been horrible with figures lately, they used to be a good go too place for them especially during sales but for some reason they're dropping the ball on them which totally sucks.

You do have a lot of collector's/scalpers in TX as well...so they most likely beat you to it...

Jesus wept.

Anyway, slowly beginning to place figures into the two DETOLF shelves in my sons room. Problem is HYDRA takes up three shelves in one unit!!!! Plus the HYDRA vehicles, I had no idea! SHIELD is basically the same size too. Yet alone AIM, Skrulls, Chitauri and DOOMBOTS.

When they were in tubs I didn't realise the extent of it. I feel like one of those hoarder shows now!!

About to snap a pic of Avengers Tower for the MU compatibility thread. Also just posted a new Force Awakens 3.75" Star Wars pic in the Star Wars thread.... Check them out if you have time.
