For years, gold plastic was a bit of a death sentence for toys (specifically the swirly gold plastic, though it happened to other plastics with a metallic swirl). Not sure about other toylines, but Gold Plastic Syndrome (as it was dubbed by the community) was particularly prevalent in the Transformers line, from the 80s until relatively recently (less common since the end of the Beast Wars/Machines era, but not entirely gone). It has to do with the makeup of the metallic plastic, though it primarily affects harder (ABS) plastics, rather than the softer (PVC) ones that are used heavily in the Marvel Legends line.

Since it's the peg of the joint, it's hard to tell whether the break is due to stress - which would be weird, since I've only had the toy for less than a month, and haven't handled that joint all that much - or due to a flaw in the plastic, GPS or otherwise. Either way, time to go grab another one come payday.

No pics thanks to the little one cracking the outside lense of my camera, but the second part of my Amazon preorders arrived today in Nico and MCU Strange. Both are terrific figures, Nico in particular, which caught me off guard as I had very little invested in her or her character, but the figure has a really nice sculpt with some surprisingly good articulation despite the skirt. Her head also is a perfect fit on the Hobgoblin wave Spider Girl, so I might be picking up another just to customize that a bit (to replicate Mayday's short haired look) and farm for parts. Besides, that interchangeable arm is actually pretty scary to change out, so I'm thinking I will probably want an extra lying around just in case, although I don't think I'll be swapping it often.

MCU Strange is really well done, although for some reason, his left swappable hand (the clawing one) plugs in REALLY loose, like almost so loose, I can nearly get it to pop off with a violent shake of the figure. Other than that though, the sculpted details are amazing, and honestly, I think it's the best LOOKING MCU figure we have received so far. If the articulation wasn't hampered a bit by the design, even the mighty Black Panther would have to bow to him in terms of details.

My Marvel Legends Infinite Series Star Lord should be coming today. :D :koopa Can't wait to have it in hand again! :D

That's some level 11 BS on their part.

Boy Blunder 10-11-2016 05:20 PM

Glad I've never tried to order from TRU's website. I've heard nothing but horror stories.

Huh, I never knew about that. Well hopefully you'll be able to find another Phoenix from the wave. Hasbro's QC has been pretty good for the most part with me. But there does seem to be some issues across the board with companies and the quality of the product that's coming out as of late.

I've ordered TRU exclusives and non-Hasbro items through their online store with great success but the only time I ever tried ordering a single Hasbro toy I just could not proceed to check out all the way. I would put the item in my cart, tell it to proceed to check-out, but then during the check-out phase it would just suddenly register my cart as empty. The item in question was pretty demanded so within the multiple times it took me to finally get to the final confirmation screen the item sold out. Not a great experience there. Usually it's fine for me though.

I'm sorry to hear that. Did they say anything about letting you know when it would get back in stock? Hopefully you're able to get that charge removed and I think personally you should really talk to customer service about that. Doctor Strange figures have been a little hard for me to find and Civil War is hard to find anywhere to be honest. I mean the craziest thing is Marvel Legends Civil War Scarlet Witch is virtually hard to find anywhere and online the prices are so steep. I've contemplated about getting a knock off. The knock off Vision is awesome!

Oh and today for me..I'm pretty sure USPS kidnapped my Star Lord. I don't know the tracking for USPS looked like it was going the normal route but now it's telling me it went back to the same Origin Post.. after entering Delaware going back to Philadelphia where it was shipped from?? Date should have been today but no muss no fuss if it's later than expected. A little bit bummed but it's nothing to get upset about. Of course if something happens for whatever reason with the post office. Then I guess it will be the opportune time to get mad ;) Lol

they did the same shit to me with the civil war falcon. real crappy that their site doesn't seem to know what the stores and warehouses actually have in stock better. still was like another month before i saw a single one in the store and that was blind luck.

I've never had issues myself and I've ordered single items too...

Byrnes 10-12-2016 10:22 AM

That Storm is looking awesome Veronica.

Starlord67 10-12-2016 10:54 AM

Just found the Dr. Strange Wave at my neighborhood Walgreens. They were up on a top shelf. Iron Fist, Nico and Enchantress were all there so if you are looking for those let me know and I'll go back and get them for you!!

Love it!!

Augustus_Cole 10-12-2016 11:47 AM

If anyone ends up with an extra (or one they don't need) RIGHT ARM for Dormammu BAF they want to trade/sell....give me a hollar.

Spyne98 10-12-2016 12:19 PM

I saw all of the Strange wave at NYCC, but the vendors wanted $40 a figure. No thanks! I hope I find them at retail soon.

Yeah that's a cash grab. It seems this wave may be easier to find than the last few, due to a different coding from the Captain America and Avengers waves. There's reports all over here of finding the wave, which to be honest, I'm glad. I was worried they'd be hard to find. I've seen every single figure at retail and I only venture out about once a week now - it's not all been at the same store but that's even better news. Many places are getting this in.

Good luck none the less, I just don't think you're going to need a ton of luck.

En Sabah Nerd 10-12-2016 01:35 PM

I found the Strange wave a couple of weeks ago now and my store usually gets stuff in later but I think Captain Nash is right that because this wave doesn't have "Avengers" or "Spider-Man" in its name more stores will stock it sooner. I really like the way this wave looks even though I only got the one figure. Just seeing the wave all in box together looked nice, the varying colors of the figures works well with the yellow packaging theme. Just a fun observation I made.

Harbinger 10-12-2016 02:16 PM

I wanna get another enchantress to hang on the wall in my office.

Boy Blunder 10-12-2016 02:17 PM

The Nico my wife got on Amazon for $17 arrived today, and supposedly Enchantress will show up tomorrow. Likewise, I've seen most of the wave at retail (Targets, specifically), but I haven't seen Enchantress, Nico, or Iron Fist yet.

redfox 10-12-2016 05:05 PM

Went to two Walmarts today, and finally saw the Space Venom wave (or what was left of it).

First Walmart had the usual leftovers from the Rhino, Red Onslaught, and Juggernaut waves. The second Walmart had a mix of the previous, plus some stragglers from the Space Venom wave (Peter x2, Miles x2, and a lone Electro). There was also a box containing the entire Dormammu wave sitting above the shelves. Out of the lot, I snatched up Peter and Nico.

donmeca2020 10-12-2016 05:55 PM

i've only saw the Strange wave once in the wild here in south florida. last i checked almost the whole wave was still there except the iron fist and the spirit form of strange.... im awaiting to find a Iron fist.
