Ditto on this wave being easy to find. Even my Target, which is usu ally pretty crap, has a few figures from the wave on the shelves. My Walgreens still has all of the figures that I'm missing from it in the stores.

Trivial Psychic 10-12-2016 08:45 PM

Enchantress finally arrived today, completing my Amazon preorders, and I found Astral Strange on the way home from work, allowing me to finish up Dormammu. Wasn't really impressed with Astral Strange, meaning I essentially paid 20 bucks for a BAF part, but that's about what people are charging for just the head separately on Ebay anyways, so at least I will be able to recoup some of those costs by reselling the good doctor...

Dormammu's a great BAF, and I'm glad that Hasbro is giving the rest of us a shot at him, as I really wasn't interested in dropping anything on the Vishanti set last year. He wasn't without issues though, as for some reason his left leg fits lower than the right, giving him one leg that is noticeably longer than the other, but thankfully you can fudge that a bit thanks to his skirt. Overall, he was worth the wait, and while many of the figs in the wave were kinda afterthoughts, it was still a lot better than I thought initially, thanks to a couple of really well done (MCU Strange and Nico) figures.

(Sorry for the blurry shot, the focus on my phone's camera inexplicably decided to stop working today, so it looks like I'll be back to taking more traditional shots with the old digital in the near future...really hating Samsung phones right now...as this is the second time I've had this issue on a different phone no less. At least it didn't explode in my hand, as much as I'm sure Dormammu here would have enjoyed that.)

I actually really like that coloring on the flaming skull heads. Too bad they come with Brother Voodoo.

They actually come with Baron...erm, I mean, Karl Mordo...

Veronica Mars 10-13-2016 12:00 AM

Anyone wanting that Storm head cast they're back in stock clayorrnotcustoms

Spyne98 10-13-2016 03:50 AM

Well I'm glad the Strange wave is easy to find so far. I know a friend of mine saw some, but none of the ones that either he or I wanted. I'm sure they'll turn up. I have never really had any trouble finding any legends, I'm hoping that trend continues.

Meh, That's even worse for me as I have no interest in the movie versions at all.

SymbiSpidey 10-13-2016 08:33 AM

I gotta say, I'm happy that everybody has a shot at adding Dormammu to their collection (especially since he's an amazing figure!) but as someone who already owns the SDCC release, my selfish desire is kicking in and I'm almost wishing we got a Shuma-Gorath BAF instead. I think that would be an incredible figure to add to the collection

The Marvel vs. Capcom fan in me would love to own even a 3.75" Shuma-Gorath let alone a Marvel Legends version, but the toy collector in me knows that in this day and age it's not likely to ever happen.

Boy Blunder 10-13-2016 08:48 AM

Messed around with the Nico figure, and I am so pleased with her. Buying online is always such a gamble with paint, and I am happy to note that, aside from a little chipping on the back of one bicep, she's pretty damn flawless. Props to Hasbro for actually painting a lace pattern on her sleeves. The figure is a gem, and as someone who's been a Runaways fan since day one, the fact that at least one of them got a figure is a dream come true.

At the current going rate for the BAF pieces, it looks to be more cost effective to buy the figure, grab the pieces, and resell the figure. The pieces themselves go for as much as full retail, so you at least stand a chance of making some money back on the $20+ purchase.

I would have straight-up died. Shuma-Gorath and a hulking Blackheart are on my shortlist of BAFs (yeah, I played a lot of the Capcom games, you can tell).

Need to add this for 'Hall of Armor' set up...Since Marvel Legends have dried up somewhat in my area...Scratched one of the 'Grails' off my list.

StarGirl 10-13-2016 10:06 AM

Hopefully I'll hit Target this weekend and see if I can find any of the Marvel Legends Strange figures in stock. I'd like to pick up Nico too if they don't have the movie versions available yet in which (I honestly can't wait for the movie! :D)
I might end up using Nico for a custom. I feel like she would be a great Negasonic Teenage Warhead head or give her full repaint and you could make her into Lara Croft. Her face shape the way the mouth are especially the eyes remind me of that.
I really want to get my hands on Civil War Scarlet Witch somehow. I'm sure that's more of the rare ones and the prices online for it they're just really steep.

Decided on a whim to go to TRU. Glad I did!

Don't need Dormammu's leg though lol

That's primarily where I know the character from, but I just love his design, and wouldn't mind Hasbro exploring the magic side of the Marvel Universe a little bit more.

A Blackheart BAF would be pretty great, but from what I've seen, the ToyBiz version does hold up rather well. As far as receiving a Shuma-Gorath BAF, yeah, it seems like a long shot. It would probably be the most unique Marvel figure ever produced, with posable tendrils and maybe even an articulated eye and eyelid? I would eat that right up!

Ahh, I just looked it up. I have friends that bought the Movie Doc Strange and a Nico. They always give me their BAF parts they don't need. They only very rarely buy Legends. They are both VERY character specific Legends collectors.

Phantomcrow 10-13-2016 01:04 PM

Got my Legends I ordered from Wal Mart.com last week. I posted the links last week also. Was really surprised they were from wal mart and not 3rd party. Glad to have these at normal price.

The skull heads that came with Karl Mordo have peg holes in them...like they fit something....is this from like a ghost rider or something else someone recalls?? Has anyone put those heads on any figures?

**EDIT**

oh duh....yes it does fit a regular fig...

The head is a recast of the Ghost Rider from Hasbro's "Return of Marvel Legends" wave...

Sadly, it doesn't fit the Hobgoblin wave Ghost Rider very well. It sits too high on the neck and would require some dremel work to it.

I'm on the fence when it comes to keeping Karl Mordo myself, simply because there is a serious lack of MCU villians altogether. Granted, the trailers have Karl looking like he will be friends with Strange, but it's the knowledge of knowing what he will eventually become that has me hanging onto him, as there is no guarantee that we will receive him as Baron Mordo later on down the line given Hasbro's checkered past with MCU villians.

Nico is a great figure. The head has some great possibilities for swaps with current teen female Legends (like the for-mentioned Negasonic, and Mayday Parker, which I really like the head for) and the body has some potential too, especially those boots (Gothic X-23 anyone?) I'm excited to see what people come up with. Hopefully she'll peg warm a bit so the cost of her as fodder won't be too bad, though I highly doubt it.

I'm starting to think that the final Civil War wave will go the route of many of Hasbro's late Walmart waves of Legends at this rate, and that many of the figures might be highly coveted in the years ahead unless something dramatic happens shipping wise. Most of my stores have been buried in the Xmen and now Strange wave, with some limited Space Venoms straggling about and absolutely NO Abomination figures and one or two Giant Man figures left over from the one or two cases they received. I'm not entirely sure what the hang up was, whether it had something to do with three waves of figures being tied to one film, or just Legends exhaustion in general, but at this rate, I can see many of these figures driving hard prices on the secondary market in the future, even the ones like Iron Skull or Eel that we originally thought would be languishing until Christmas.
