Sentinels were marked down to $10.00 (!!!) today at my local TJ Maxx, if you have one in your area....commence with the army building!! ;P

Also, if anyone is still hunting for the Clear shield cap from the MU gift set here's one from an overseas seller on ebay ($25 is a bit high IMO, but I figured I'd share the link anyway)

Does anyone have some experience with an unpaid preorder at BBTS?

I put it in so long ago, my credit card number has changed, so when they tried to charge me, it didn't go through.

I want to apply my store credit to the purchase instead, but they don't get back into the office until Monday. Will they cancel my preorder if I don't pay for it immediately?

I did that with amazon. used a card that was stolen and didn't update my info. I paid for it twice. I gave my wife the paypal payment two times. Back in december when wave 3 MLs were like 6$. neo classic IM, punisher, doom, us agent for like 33 and change

out of curiosity, are the wings on that angel different to those on the x-men six pack???
Yes. I haven’t opened them yet (want time to appreciate…) but from the looks of it; the X-Factor Angel has cream-coloured wings (they look unpainted), but the regular Angel has wings with a grey wash that looks like it was added to the unpainted wings.

Quote:

Angel it also pretty sweet, though I wish it was the red and white halo costume rather than the blue, but is is cooler IMO than the red X-Factor version.
I agree. Red and white is the costume I remember, but this is good enough…

I heard a rumor from a hasblo employee. Five points of articulation will become the rule and certain "super pose able" figures the exception in the next year.
So a massive jump back then? Jesus, even vintage Joes have 9 points!

Also, lots of employees getting laid off to save money and increase profit and shares for 2013.
I hate that line of thinking. Profits are good, we just want *even more* - so we’ll lay some people off.

Friend said they called it 'consolidating talent'.

Saw the Inhumans and West coast Avengers team packs at my LCS, Forbidden planet NYC. I wasn't willing to pay $37 each team and the inhumans have sloppy applied paint. I am waiting for their retail release at TRU weeks/days later.

BBTS will hold a nonpayment order for eight days before canceling it.

I encountered quite the rudeness today.

I was at my local Fred Meyer, getting groceries like I do every Saturday. And every Saturday I check the toy aisle.

There was a guy, maybe around my age (27), maybe a bit older, looking at the MU and associated lines. He wasn't like, blocking the MU peg (of which is just the same Falcon that's been sitting there alone for three weeks), so I glance over and look and, you know, trying to make conversation, maybe finally make a new friend in this godforsaken city, I just say "Same thing as last week, eh?" I figured maybe we could start talking about figures or something. Instead he glared at me like I'd told him to fuck himself, then immediately threw his body in front of the Spider-Man line and Falcon, where I could see it, and used his arm and jacket to block the Avengers stuff. I'm pretty sure I had a puzzled look on my face, but other than that, not wanting to get into anything negative with this bloke, I just went and looked at other toys until he had left. I do think I know who grabs all the good shit before me, though.

On another note, it bothers me that there's been one Falcon sitting on the peg, an almost completely drained Turtles peg set (they're down to like 5 of just the turtles - Mikeys and Raphs I think), and yet, they just cleared out SOMETHING, I don't remember what, to put in two more pegs of Spider-Man and Avengers that sells like molasses.

I wouldn't mind so much if the fellow would have been pleasant. To lose to a worthy contender is no manner of dishonor. But as a doucheberry, if ever we cross paths again, he may not be so very happy.

kylactus 01-26-2013 09:59 PM

if you see him again dont say a word, just proceed to remove every figure from the shelf, if he coments be silent but make eye contact, walk away with a cart full and wait him out, the only way to beat evil is with evil. sad but true....read the art of war.

DarthGzus33 01-26-2013 10:36 PM

That sucks bro, I have had mostly good experiences with the other adult collectors in my area...We even have like this unspoken law where we will offer stuff to each other if one of us has some new stuff in hand in the asile when the other shows up. We all know we are there for the same stuff, and share our info on where we found things. I did give off a look of total disgust once to a D Bag who was on his cell filing through the pegs with the TMNT stuff while the scalper on the phone was spouting off which ones to buy...This a$$ was acting like he would have killed a kid to get all of the Metal Heads in his cart before anyone had a shot at them. Makes people like us look bad and pisses me off. Next time do what the Cobra Kai would have done...Sweep the Leg!!!

kylactus 01-26-2013 10:42 PM

scalpers are the antichrist!!!! nothing is worse than buying something on Ebay for an exorbanant price and finding its shipping from two miles up the road. and was probably bought in your hunting grounds! THROAT PUNCH THEM !!!!!!

damn,a bent card knocks $$$$ off the ebay price :P
its even more annoying when some asswipe snaps up all the bagheads then sells them on ebay for 50 dollars each or more, and you know the most ironic thing???MOST people here would do the exact same thing in all honesty.

This x1000000. I've lost count the number of folk on here who have quoted the "market value" or ebay price or even asked for "a few bucks for gas" for a figure they spent less than 10 dollars on. They're just beating you to making a quick buck.

i don't mind working in a few bucks for gas if the trip was specifically for the purpose of getting figures for others. it may seem like douche bag thing to some (and trust me ive been bitched out by a few people for adding 3 bucks to retail value) but im not a toy chauffeur and i am doing a service by going out of my way to grab things i would otherwise not have even bothered with personally

...that said, i never charge over 15 bucks for MU figures. rare or not, im not looking for anything i haven't already payed to have the figures in my possession.

kylactus 01-27-2013 12:40 PM

adding a couple of bucks for the trouble is one thing, I wouldnt expect someone to take a loss for the noble gesture of hooking me up with something I cant find in the wild. hell I'd think it rude not to offer....I'd be happy to cover the digital comic subscription fee and shipping on xforce archangel, but 230$ for a solid vision thats just gouging! and the bent card ruins my personal anil retentive obsesive compulsive collecting bug, I'm not so worried about the hyped up ebay price. I personaly dont even sell on ebay, but I dont see anything wrong with using a rare figure as leverage in a trade. you wouldnt swap a benz for a pinto..

redx24 01-27-2013 12:48 PM

this is why if i sell i talk with the buy to see if my price is fair if we agree i dont want to see him bitching about his purchase. had a guy over on hisstank that did that. really soured me on "helping" people get items for their collections. i cant help it if gas is expensive but shit why do i got to do without just cause you cant understand i need my gas replaced. now ebay sellers i understand they want to sell their not there to help u. they want to make the cash and if they want to charge 100 for a fig then they probly know someone will buy. if thats not u dont bitch just move on you'll find the fig u want at a price yor willing to pay eventually.

There are people like this everywhere though you are in Tacoma, yes? I'm about 35 minutes north of you and I will just say that it seems we have more than a few of those types in the Puget Sound area. When the new GI Joe was released last year I experienced those collectors 3 times in one day. Makes me want to go online and shop.

MADREVJACK 01-27-2013 01:12 PM

Not trying to self promote, but if anyone wants anything I'm selling in my eBay thread, pm me and I'll pull it down for you. Have a good Sunday gentlemen!

Man, I've had all good experiences except once in a TRU when the Doom/Spidey 2 pack came out. I had actually stopped by as they opened and one guy was also at the door and ran right over to the aisle while I just plodded over. I saw 6 of the 2 packs laying on the shelf, he had taken them all down and put them in a pile and was looking through other stuff a few feet away. I picked up one and started walking away when he called over to me saying it was his. I kindly pointed out the pile of 5 more to which he replied they were all his. I realized this was a scalper and I smiled and began to walk away and he actually approached me and started telling me to give it back.

I kindly explained that there are 5 others for him but if he wanted "to get a beating that would put you in the hospital for a week over a !@#$% toy, I'd gladly help you out, !@#$%"

Not surprising, he did not want to go that route and I got my 2 pack. And I was pleased with myself.

But I've ran into a scalper or two who had a pile of stuff sitting there and let me grab one of a multiple they had when I asked too, so I don't necessarily think they are all total jerks. Just an annoyance.

shortysben 01-27-2013 03:01 PM

As far as Vision Goes, I personally have one MOC, and you better believe I would expect top Money for that sucker...not because I bought it @6.99 (remember when MU were that much?), but because I traded a LOT to get it....
