This finally happened today, and I'm way more surprised by how fun it is than I thought I would be initially. Really loving all of the extras! |

I'm really digging the set having taken it out and goofed around with it a bit, but I'm scratching my head at some decisions that were made, especially with Drax, who has two armored hands, but only one that is actually capable of holding his knives (the Warpath one can be cheated on the open hand, if you slide the handle over it, but it sits in a strange angle in his paw...) The unarmored hands aren't much better, as they are made for the movie daggers that come with the set, and don't hold the Warpath ones very well (as their handles are too big.) Also, what the heck is up with Gamora's sword? This thing is huge! I know some of you are more versed in GotG than I am, so I have to ask, is it accurate to the comic book? If not, I'm probably swap it out with another sword that's appropriately scaled for her (such as Valkyrie's, as this larger weapon would probably work well for that figure due it's larger scale.) Finally, Having some slight issues with my Rocket Raccoon, as the head doesn't fit very well onto the neckpeg due to the hole drilled in it being a bit too shallow. Did anyone else who has the set have that issue? It's an easy fix with my dremel, but a bit annoying that I have to do it in the first place. The other weapons are great, but they also don't fit too well in his hands. They should work well with other figures though, and thankfully I have all those blaster rifles from my Black Series Storm Troopers, so it's no big deal. Just happy to have them in the first place, cause Hasbro could have skimped out on the accessories. Despite those issues, still a neat set, and I'm glad I was patient enough to snag it at a lower price all these months later, instead of it climbing as these things tend to do. |

The glowing skulls that come for dorammmamu do they have neck holes or would someone need to drill their own and would they look good on the average marvel body?

Nothing major here, but since the EE GOTG Gamora seems to have a very Brian Pulido influenced outfit, I figured I'd try out the sword from the old Lady Death figure on her, and much to my surprise, not only does it fit perfectly in her hand, I think it represents her way better than that foam dollar store looking sword that Hasbro stuck her with.
http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j1...102_122910.jpg I wish I could find someone who does casts of the old Toybiz LOTR or the newer GOT swords though, just to give her an arsenal of edged death like Blue Marvel mentioned. |

I don't get the modesty pancho either, although I actually kinda dig it. It gives her a kinda "jedi" feel, where you never know if the mysterious person in the robes and hood could be an old man, or a trained assassin who'll chop your arm off if you so much as look at them funny. It feels kinda off considering this set was an internet exclusive, so it's not like there would be angry mothers sending Hasbro angry emails if their kids were oogling at the goods, but I appreciate accessories, and don't mind soft goods on my figures provided they are executed properly, and this one is actually done pretty well. I can see now why so many people are willing to drop big bucks for just her on the secondary market. |
