I need a Kraven now.... putting a Sinister Six team together. Finally decided tyo do SOME of the Spidey villians. Got Sandman just because he was is store, picking up Vulture for a head swap and will put our old Strucker head on Vulture, will grab a Doc Ock just because now. Mysterio is 6 quid shipped from Chinabay as is Elecktro but he is a bit more.

Need a Cable now as well after getting bishop. So there is several figures i am getting that a few weeks ago i had ZERO plans of getting simply because HASBRO has upped the game on their distrobution and they available in stores here.

Might I recommend Nexodusrex on here, he's getting rid of his collection at excellent prices; instead of the £70 odd for Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver on eBay, he's giving me them both £15. He is American but if you order more than $75 it's free shipping. I'm fairly certain he's got all your Sinister Six needs, plus Cable I believe.

TRU has the Cap Winter Soldier wave knocked down to a tenner a piece.
If it's anything like the Reading branch then the shelf edge ticket will still say £20 but they'll scan at £9.99.
If anyone comes accross a Marvel Now Cap that's going spare he's the last one I need to finish my Mandroid...

Cheers,
Doug

Cheers for the heads up, was in my local TRU today (say local its 15 miles away) and like you said ticket said £19.99 and at the till scanned at £9.99, I'm not even into these 6 inch figures but when you see them all on the rack its like being a kid in a sweet shop.
Bought the marvel now cap and winter soldier. I may get into this line and just pick up the figures I actually like when they are the reduced price mind, instead of picking all of them up to build a figure and having figures I have no interest in.

ukmu 04-08-2015 01:36 PM

The Birstal TRU, did they have any Black Widows? I want to build a mandroid.

No mate, I think I'd have got her also if they had, they had loads of the Hydra agents and AIM soldiers a few if the two I got and then the spiderman wave on offer actually marked as £9.99 and all the newish Odin wave apart from Thor at £22.99 don't think I'd stretch to full price for these figures, although the AOU Hulk and Iron Man Thanos wave look awesome

Jimmyo 04-09-2015 10:58 AM

Order sixty six have the vulture wave up for order

No worries :)

If you're not building Mandroid and don't want the head that came with Cap....

Good looking out JimmyO! I love how easy the waves are to get now. Indy sellers, Chinabay, preorder e-tailers, mum and pop shops, Sainsburys..... Hopefully, gone forever are the days of having to import or beg someone from the states to send you some or pay out the nose and buy full cases when you wanted only two figures.

If this is what the rebrand was for, than it worked! If, and that is a BIG if, it holds true and steady wave after wave!

If anyone's a Turtles fan and fancies a crack at a custom 3.75" scaled Shredder, you can get a Shredder with removable helmet for £7.49 from Smyths, which if you place the helmet on a suitable MU figure is pretty much most of the custom.

Well...those of us that were there for the start of the line can still recall how it started out fairly easy to get, and then it became one in three waves were available everywhere... and so on. This seems like more of the same to me; first wave hard to find, second easy, third? Fourth? We shall see...

Hasbro has never been consistent in this, and I think these are available in anticipation of the Avengers movie (on the retailers part).

agreed on this, but not only with this line, mate.same with legends both hasbro and toybiz before universe went mainstream.one mainstream store has surprised me by getting the sandman wave in,where others like FP have struggled.to me it looks like hasbro are winding down on 3.75" to focus on legends again.if that happens i think ill call it quits on collecting.gonna have a major headache selling off my collection when the time comes.

If you stop collecting it doesnt mean you have to sell up though. One could just enjoy what they have built up and spent COUNTLESS hours researching, hunting or talking about on the worldy widey webby.

I get it though.....it seems it is all or nothing with collecting. I thought we were about at the end of buying figures and then got sucked in to buying some other X-Men and some Spidey Villians. At least we are ALMOST at the end of army building!!! Well, we will start a Moleman army soon. I know thyat we are solid on the numbers with the armies, I wont get sucked in to upping the troop count. Oh, and ULTRONS when the goldtrons drop. And still need 4 more Doombots.... but that is it!!! ;)

Mostly on to doing customs now. Not great at them but you get better each time so it is just a matter of trying them.Thiose get EXPENSIVE quick though. Thuink we will get most of the parts we need cast in the colour we want so we have ZERO paint rub. Also getting a head painted professionally isnt too expensive, so we will do what we can when we can and call in the heavies when needed. The custom list is mostly Avenger females anyway.

The Toys R Us exclusive 3.75" AOU sets have gone from "Not sold in stores" to "Out of stock in stores" on the website. Plus, they're out in the stores over in the US now so we should be getting them very soon :)

This is true. It baffles the hell out of me that Sainsbury's and Asda can have the latest Infinite figs, but the Planet doesn't. Really odd.

It staggers me just how much better value Legends figures are than Infinite ones. You get the figure - larger, more detailed, better artic - accessories in almost every pack, and a part of a build a figure - all for about $20, while Infinite costs $12. If Legends were being priced the way Infinite is right now they should cost about $35. I think that Infinite is being used to mitigate costs on Legends.

A seller on eBay has the latest Infinite wave but is asking like £20 a fig. I have no idea how, but it's not worth it - no way no day.

I guess seeing the nasty side of this game too many times, wants me to just get out now.i never tried to live vicariously through my collection like a lot of people do.but then I need to remind myself that its all some people have going in their life.i reckon by the time 2016 comes around,I'm definitely done and will move on from all this, let it be someone else's headache!!!

I feel like that most days, Scarlett is not as into the whole thing as she was she and I feel like I collect out of habit rather than the fun we had together at the start.

No matter how it ends up me and the kid had a wild ride through JLU to SHS and then MU with some stops at TMNT and ben 10 along the way and it has been a pleasure speaking to everyone across multiple boards (Jackieboy helped me locate a cable for my apocalypse, UKMU will eventually find those transfers from Narnia etc.)

We are not leaving yet but the window really is shortening and as quality decreases and price increases I am not sure how much longer I can justify it.

That's a good point, I wonder if that is the case cuz the MI stuff has really went cheapo on a lot of stuff. I just figured the brand manager (Dwight) was completely indifferent towards the 3.75" figs. I just don't get the same kick out of 6" figs, but I look at the 8 hands or whatever on iron fist and the cheapo new base buck with no paint wash on MI and just hope they get someone who champions the MI line the way David vonner did. I'm still getting the new stuff but if the articulation/sculpts get any worse/cheaper I'll probably be out.

Well I've only just started collecting and have spent a lot of money in a short space if time on the MU line. I'm no pro but know a good product when I see it and agree the new 6inch legends are better value especially if you wait until the new wave comes out and the old one is in the sale at half price.
I love the 3.75 figures but hate that the quality is hit and miss between figures, some are better than others. And the new Infinite ones are terrible value with the lack of articulation.
I have bought Sandman and Daredevil because these are good figures and are obviously using old molds as they have all the articulation, also got Bishop but only because I'm trying to build up an X-Men team apart from that he isn't a great figure.
Then you look at new Beast and Big Time Spiderman and they are rubbish, you can tell Hasbro has no interest now for 3.75 and are producing poor figures with minimum production cost but maximum profit. I'm in a bit of quandary as where to go with my collection, if it wasn't for space I'd probably go for 6inch Legends but 3.75 don't take up too much room and I'm probably too committed now to change from this size. Plus they are the perfect scale for dioramas, which I'll post a few pics later of my first attempts.

i remember when you first arrived here,Jimmyo.you went all out getting scarlett all the must haves in the MU universe and you were enthusiastic about it much like ukmu is now.and i agree 1000% on the sentiment that there are some great guys here and on other forums.but its a shame that these peeps get over shadowed by those who lack the capacity to process what the meaning of community is.seen people post over on the 3:75 appreciation for nothing more than plaudits and worship, then get all bent out of shape and frosty when others post their pics and views.i really hope the NEW thread doesnt devolve into what the old thread finally ended up being, because we lost some GREAT people because of that and got stuck with some of the fools who brought down the old thread.

nice score on the vulture and dd,chinabay???gonna hold out for the disney store to get the next wave in.12 euro a pop is a steal.some of my lcs,s marked up the prices to 15 and more for the old universe line.but i get it,a guys gotta eat!!!will be interesting to see what the upcoming cons come up with, hopefully its just a marvel legends affair and they announce the end of the infinite line,as far as the 5pa figures coming out?id imagine its down to the losses hasbro suffered from lines like IM,IM2,Thor,Thor2,cap america, avengers.when i joined here, many complained about the prices, waited for them to reduce, then sold them here at profit.hasbro reps must have seen this practice and decided to cut the quality levels but retained the legends standard because thats a definite money maker.

TheLongestDay 04-12-2015 04:49 AM

Yeah got those on Chinabay :) The DD had a leg-popping problem just like Black Cat, had to apply a little superglue to fix it but no big deal just glad I didnt pay over a tenner otherwise Id be slightly miffed shall we say :P
