Yes, of course!

Nice, I've been tempted to do that myself, was it easy through your insurance company? I asked mine that I have rental insurance on and she wasn't really informative about it. PM the info if anything :) Thanks!

This one is way more special and unquestionably more valuable though and with Moon Knight being my favorite character it does me good to know that his rarest toy is being kept in good hands.

Thanks Sabah!

I'll pm you the link. It's a company dedicated to toy collecting so you won't have any trouble.

It's not cheap but it's worth it IMO.

I appreciate the big guys!

Im so glad someone picked up those wow figures; are there any good?

theArchivist 02-19-2016 02:59 PM

They are Jakks Pacific so "good" is a relative term.

They are okay as figures go. I think they have great designs for Orc/Troll type figures and their size is good for 1:18.
I'll take some more amateurish pictures and post them on a more appropriate thread.

EDIT: Here you go

Jay West 02-19-2016 04:32 PM

Had the best night I've had at retail in ages. Got the Cap and Iron Man comic packs and a Spidey kids line Green Goblin to use as Ultimate Green Goblin. Passed on a derpy Captain Marvel.

Where'd you go and where are you located?

Northern Indainapolis suburbs. Just saw several cases at a Meijer. No Spidey Noir. I've now bought figures at 2 Meijers and 1 Wal Mart. I've seen everything except Spider Man Noir. He had to have been picked out on purpose at the Meijer I just left. It looked like 3 cases on Pegs and multiples of everyone, but no Noirs. The comic packs I got at Wal Mart. They just had the 2. Someone had bought the Thor pack.

Jay West 02-19-2016 05:49 PM

Kept hunting - haven't done that in years went to the Meijer that I got Yondu at last week. All Legends 3.75 were gone, but lots of Comic Packs. Only one Thor pack and it appeared to have been deliberately vandalized with a creased card and a dog eared card. You guys ever see this? I discovered it was a thing a few years ago in this same area when someone was trashing the desireable Star Wars Vintage figures.

I think I have seen people damaging the packaging of toys to basically rub it in the faces of MOC/MIB collectors. Basically it was a "now these toys are for openers only" kind of action, a mean-spirited one at that. I have bought some toys before that had some pretty mangled packaging that were so bent/torn that it had clearly been done by a person accidental or not but it doesn't bother me since I'm an opener. However, I'm sure a mint-condition collector would've been devastated to find that harder to find toy but only in such poor condition.

Ninjinister 02-19-2016 06:29 PM

Came into a wee bit of extra cash so in addition to buying something I really, really need - I finally bit and got something I've wanted in the line for a while. I'll post pics when it arrives <3

A MOC person would be upset...and so would a scalper. It must be some opener's version of "Licked it! Mine now!"

I had it explained once as an opener who did not have cash trying to keep people from buying it until they could. The idea of some sort of anti MOC collector Robin Hood makes sense as well. The proper explanation is probably just douche bag.

I don't want to assume you are in the US, but if you have access to a Hobby Lobby or Michael's, they just love putting out weekly coupons for 40% off any 1 item, so if you get your tools 1 at a time you can save a bundle.

and I was about to respond to this when my optical mouse died 2 days ago.

I could probably find about a half dozen of those at retail right now if I had the cash on hand. That isn't the hard part. It would probably cost twice that to ship them to you.

As long as the comic wasn't fucked up, I would've taken that Thor pack.

Zend 02-19-2016 08:01 PM

I think Raf is a swell dude. But I still laugh whenever I see the price tags for those figures, I just don't see the value in them despite knowing only a handful exist and fewer still have been sold to other people. For $6k id rather get a 1:1 scale, film accurate, Terminator 2 T-800 endoskeleton. My opinion is worthless however, as value is completely subjective. Raf wants what he wants, and Raf can afford to pay whatever it takes to get what he wants. That's all that matters.

Thanks! Yeah, that's a great point, no argument there. It's just like everything else, a toy is only worth what the collector is willing to pay for it. The way I see it is...I paid $10,000.00 for the 3 figs that I had been wanting and trying to find for years. I'm happy! Now, I was offered (not too long ago actually) $10,000.00 for Cage alone...if I sell it I made 50% profit! If that makes me stupid then...ill take it! Lol

I think it's cool to do whatever you can. I do wish I had your spare cash though. I teach so my $70 spent on figures tonight was about as high as I can go! :)

Yeah, all I did was save and save some more when I started working. I made a plan at an early age and we (my wife and I) stuck to it. I paid off my house in 14 years (just paid it off last year). I have 0 debt. No car payment, no mortgage. I have stocks & ibonds that I'll never touch until I retire because I don't depend on such monies. Life is good!
