It seems like ever since Prima stopped making guides, Bradley stopped putting effort into their guides since they don't have to compete with anyone.

Wow, Gamestop not trying to up sell you the collectors edition guide that costs more?? Things have changed since my day. Amazon has a way better price anyway. Plus you might like to know that the Limited edition of the game comes with a hardbound art book.

Phantomcrow 06-24-2015 08:36 PM

I picked up my copy of the Limited edition of Batman Arkham Knight. The box is pretty big.

Game, Steelbook, 0 issue comic, Hardbound art book, and a 12 in tall light up memorial statue. Pretty nice collectors edition.

And 1 Wal mart got a case of the TF Protectobots. I picked up Rook.

Would anyone who intends to open a toy really care about the packaging? So long as the goods inside are fine there shouldn't be any problems for an opener. I mean yeah sometimes a toy just has a cool box but I can't fully enjoy a toy unless it's in my hands.

could somebody PLEASE help me i'm a newbie to toy collecting so don't rip my head off for the newb question.well my question is i bought a new toy that is packaged in cardboard so i can't check the condition of the item without opening the sealed box which the seal is a factory tape type thing.i have never bought from the store before so i want to check the quality of the item or if it is damaged because the item was sort of pricey.i don't plan on playing or displaying it or ever removing from the package again i just was wondering is it still considered mint & will the value be highly effected?if this is the wrong place to ask this type of question could somebody Please point me in the right place THANKS in advanced & it will be GREATLY APPRECIATED!

no i tend to normally open most of them up. i guess when you buy something brand new you expect it to be mint.

i agree as well, just you don't a brand new item in it's packaging damaged due to the fact of UPS/fedex/ or USPS messed up. either way the contents inside the package were good, i was just considering if i end up selling a few it's not attractive for someone.

I like how that Hiway Hauler lends itself to cool art and designs. The Kroger exclusive glow-in-the-dark Halloween Hiway Hauler is one of my favorite Hot Wheels, because of the cool Halloween-inspired art on it.

Yeah,it's awesome! :)

Hey everyone first time posting in this section and it almost became a "look what I passed on" post! Stoped @ Wal-Mart on my way to work this morning and lo and behold! Found the entire Epic Heroes line among some Avengers stuff. I was happy because I missed on a couple of figures, but I got even happier when I went to check the price and they were $3! My guess is they found the box, forgot to put it out back in '12 and thought "let's just put it in clearance since they are old toys". As you can see, they just put them in a random place.

Once you break the tape seal it is NOT considered MINT IN BOX for any reason. You can fake it by re-taping or try to peal the tape back in one piece but you are only fooling yourself or someone you sell it too. And yes this totally has a major effect on the value. If you plan to leave it in the box then that is exactly what you have to do. You have to take the risk that everything is fine in the package as is. If you do not plan tho sell it or get rid of it then you have to decide how you feel about that. You would have to consider it being labeled as Opened w/ Box Complete or Opened w/ Mint Box, but once the seal is broken it can never be considered MIB or Mint in Sealed Box.

what is it? some stuff like Hot Toys and other high end figures aren't so much of a "mint on card" item for most collectors, and are commonly opened, displayed, repacked, then resold for nearly as much as retail or more. now if it's an older toy, like a Mego or Star Wars vehicle or play set DON'T OPEN IT!!!!, if your concerned about the item being in there or if it's been repacked you can do one of two things, bring it to a dentist, police station (if they have a bomb unit), or small regional airport, some will be cool enough to X-ray the box to see if it contains what it's suppose to. or you could get it AFA graded. if it's a old rare or highly collectible item and the box is in good shape I'd recommend this rout as it will raise the value to high end collectors. I'm personally a mostly MOC collector and I've got to tell you box condition is everything. a lot of novice collectors and sellers will try to get high book value for everything even when the box has basically been beaten into a bag. I'll pay top dollar for perfect, but I won't even look at something with a crease, tear, sticker burn, or re-packed. If you let us know what you have you might find someone here who has specific expertise in that field.

why bother if you don't even plan on displaying it? i've never understood why people buy figures and never open them, especially expensive figures that aren't visible in their packaging.

i can sort of understand for non transforming figures that are well visible in their packages.. but high end figures with great articulation and a bunch of accessories that isn't visible in the packaging seems like a big waste to me. why not just buy a box and print out a photo of the packaging to glue it on..

i've noticed that the things that tend to appreciate in value are the more expensive lego sets. those things are ridiculous..

oh well, people can do what they want.

as for your question.. if it's MISB, it's not your problem if you sell it and it turns out it's defective.. you just won't have a very happy customer.

Took a little bit of time but managed to open 6 Playarts yesterday night!
The Aliens are wonderful, and will blend perfectly with the Resident 5/6 figs.

MIB in box could mean two things though. It could mean MIOB (Mint In Opened Box) or Mint in Sealed Box (MISB). It is possible for an item to be Mint with an Opened Box (package was opened but toy was never removed or touched).

Got my Marvel Unlimited Plus package today. I was really hoping for Rocket but expected Ultron. This may be the loosest figure I have ever had. The waist swivel has no grip at all and I bet if I stuck an arm out and flicked it I could get the top section to spin a few times LOL.
