Who would've guessed that Wolverine would be the hard to find figure? I've seen it once and that's it.

If they decide to reuse that Wolverine for a different uniform I'll get one for sure but I'm not the biggest fan of that suit.
I mean it's alright and I get that lots of people like it but he's had way better looks over the years. |

I'd be willing to bet on it. I wouldn't mind a new Ultimate or Atonishing X-Men Wolverine though.

So, I wanted to apologize to anyone who offered to sell me the Abomination pieces I needed, but it turned out to be more economically sound to just buy the figures and resell them without the BAF part. My internet access was a bit limited over the past week, so that's why I wasn't able to respond to anyone directly. Thanks again for the offers, though, and if anyone is selling parts from Spaceknight Venom or Dormammu, I'm trying to finish them as well - the Hobgoblin and Peter Parker parts for Venom, and... I'm not sure for Dormammu. I'm waffling on just buying the rest of the wave in its entirety (at the very least, I'm definitely getting Iron Fist, Brother Voodoo, and MCU Strange, on top of the Nico and Enchantress we already nabbed). But any of the remaining parts, I'm willing to consider.

I spied a failed custom attempt behind the counter of my LCS today, and she was in bad shape when I saw her. She had a torn knee joint in her left knee (which was a common QC issue with this set) was missing her weapon and hands, and the facial features on the head had been wiped clean with acetone in an attempt to repaint the face as the former owner told me that her lips and eyes were printed a bit off on the figure. Sensing an opportunity, I asked if I could attempt to restore it. He offered to sell the fodder body and whatever parts were left to me, and since it was a broken and incomplete version of the original SDCC figure, I was able to haggle the price down to about 35 bucks.
I got home and immediately went to work on her, and here she is! I replaced the knee joints in both legs, replaced her missing hands with those from the 2 pack Black Widow, and ditched the acetone bleached head in favor of the newer, much better painted Cindy Moon...with some added purple and black drybrushing for texture. Just need to get her a psychic sword, and she'll be complete! I have made no other alterations as I really want her to be as close to the original SDCC figure as I can go, without dropping a fortune on the actual fgure, and I'm really happy with how this essentially kitbashed result turned out. I FINALLY have my unicorn! http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j1...9185671127.jpg |
She looks Great Trivial Psychic. Awesome Job!!!

The brown and yellow costume is the one Wolverine had in the infamous Jim Lee relaunch, so I assume there's quite a bit of nostalgia surrounding it.
https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikiped...Xmenjimlee.jpg And like I said on a previous page, I wouldn't count out the impulse buyers either. He's still the most recognizable X-Man, so that probably counts for a lot. |

And if we're including characters not on the cover (like Jubilee), maybe a new Jhericurl Bishop? |

@Veronica Mars: I'm not a huge fan of the body either, but as I was recently trying to build a new Psylocke custom to replace the last one I did, I just couldn't find one that really FELT like Psylocke to me as I was messing with the body types. My original custom used the Wasp body mold, but there was something about the body that felt off when I had the finished product. I thought of going the Ms. Marvel/Warbird route like most people do, but I feel like that body is too muscular (as in a "buff" way) and I've always thought of Psylocke as being lean and trim, while not necessarily being physically imposing like a body builder. I started a project on the new Silk body, but about halfway through it, I ended up scrapping it, because I HATE the hip articulation on that figure. I ended up scouring eBay, trying to find a decent custom or loose Psylocke, but the hunger among collectors and scalpers alike has been growing, as her prices loose have jumped to the near 250 dollar range, while a good custom fetches usually just below that, all the while with people actually dropping that to get her. That's when I happened upon this poor broken down figure (I really wish I took before shots, but I was just so excited to get to work on it that I forgot to, although I still have the faceless head...lol) As strange looking as that old Elektra/Widow mold could be, it's still passable, had the body shape I was looking for, and it does have better hip articulation than the current female Legends along with the unique jika-tabi styled feet. After picking up the body, I just wanted to restore her as best as I could. I feel like I got a steal, as the fodder parts that I fixed her up with was just stuff I had lying around, meaning that I essentially got an SDCC Psylocke for just under 40 bucks. (Kiss my grits eBay scalpers!) I've thought of switching out Cindy's hair with the hair from the original Betsy to bring it even closer to the original, but I'm unsure of the fit, and Cindy's is visually similar anyways, so I'm still undecided if I want to alter the figure any further. I'll be grabbing Clay's katana, psychic katana, and psy-dagger in the very near future! |
I think the reason so many people gravitate to the Warbird buck is because it has the best proportions. the Wasp torso is "bottom heavy" being a little too Hip-y, Ashley Barton has the opposite problem where she's almost top heavy, and the Silk body has weird musculature on the lower torso, which isn't as noticeable depending on the paint job (it really stands out on Phoenix). I've swapped the upper torso of the Warbird buck onto the lower torso of the Wasp buck and it gives a more balanced hourglass. Over all they need to overhaul the basic female buck in the line.

Finally found Iron Fist out in the wild @ ToysRus this morning, for my loose collection (and found 2 NES Classics last Friday, 1 @ TRU & 1 @ Best Buy).
