It looks like they're about the right height.

I'm a grown ass man playing with an action figure of a guy who shoots ice out of his hands, freezes his opponents and uppercuts them into 100 pieces...what is it again you were saying about REALISTIC??

haha... ;o)

i saw these in Walmart today...really liked the way they looked..too bad my money or space isn't long enough to accommodate them ;o(
sidenote: was odd..this store had lots of figures from MULTIPLE BAF lines at one time...

snake5289 07-05-2015 09:22 PM

Definitely want to get the movie Ant-Man but I'm seriously considering getting the comic Giant Man too.

Been waiting to find Mal, Horizon Brave and the Rocketeer for a long time. Daenerys Targaryen was marked down to $9.

zombombie 07-06-2015 12:27 PM

Currently in Prague and I've found an excellent comic shops that has a few Green Lantern figures that I've never come across in the UK before - the DC Direct line. I had to grab Guy, but I could be tempted to return before I leave for Soranik Natu. I'll post pictures when I'm back - I worry I've fallen down a Green Lantern shaped collecting hole...!

Augustus_Cole 07-06-2015 01:42 PM

Hey Juggernaut et al., I would be curious to know what you think of those Funko figures (Firefly, Rocketeer). I heard elsewhere about problems with the joints and paint. If you get around to it, I would appreciate an opinion from another member of the Ark.

Addendum: I found this review posted last month by Captain Odious. Looks good to me. :D

Regards

My previous Funko experience is limited to a handful of early Game of Thrones figures, two of which did break and were replaced. These feel like a different, harder plastic, which may be better or more brittle, I guess time will tell. The Mal figure did feel a bit fragile, but nothing was stuck and all the joints seem good. I saw two on the shelf, mine has no paint issues but the one I let behind had terribly applied paint on the face. The Rocketeer had no issues, though the eye paint on the unmasked head on every sample I have seen give the impression of a very intense stare.

I gotta get the mugger gremlin that guy always makes me laugh when I watch the movie?

Went to Hastings and was surprised to find the Mezco MK X figures so I got the two that I wanted.

Both figures have good articulation (it is slightly different for each of them but mostly the same) and nice details both sculpted and painted. Not great but good, basically not as good as NECA but still better than Marvel Legends or Star Wars Black Series so far as looks go. They are also surprisingly durable right out of the box, they may not look as good as other adult collector lines can look but they have a much higher "play" value.
They are exactly in the 6" scale and size up well with any other 6" scale figures but obviously not with anything in any other scale.

I'd say Sub-Zero is the better figure between the two going on the figure itself but Scorpion has way better accessories. Sub-Zero's open right hand has a plug hole in it clearly meant for an ice-ball but that's the one accessory he doesn't have. Actually Sub-Zero's accessories are fairly "meh" with an ice sword and hammer, he holds both very well but I feel like they should have swapped out the hammer for an ice-ball. Scorpion on the other hand has his two swords, two chain-spears, but he also has the worst accessory. The last Scorpion accessory isn't even listed on the box which makes it a complete surprise: it's his mask, you can take it on or off but it doesn't actually plug on to his face so it can easily fall off while you're messing with the toy and then the face beneath it is pretty bad. It isn't like a half-skull or anything it's just a bored Japanese looking face, he doesn't even have his beard from the game. Thankfully when the figure is at rest the mask stays on well enough. Oh yeah, both figures have an extra set of hands too.

Overall I'd say these are both good figures and would recommend them to fans of the series but they aren't as good as what we were previewed. I didn't get Raiden but if he's as good as these then he should be fairly good too.

Agreed..they looked GREAT..they ARE good. The Scorpion fig..while he is a bad ass..is kind of eh ..he does have good accessories.
and yup...his mask falls right off and what a surprise it was such an ordinary face. I had to stick that clear plastic piece back on just to keep his mask in place.
AND..his spear..within a few hours it will not be sticking straight out..gravity takes over..and it starts angling downward...i flip it over...it ends up doing the same thing.

donmeca2020 07-06-2015 08:19 PM

finally opened him up.... not too much leg articulation so to speak considering the right leg is pointed in only one direction. the paint looks good, more like the comic look similar to th way the bad blood came. came with a shoulder cannon, not sure i'll be placing it on him or not. also i was expecting a full size comic, it only came with a mini comic reprint of the original. never the less it's still cool, i'll bag and board it possibly just to keep it safe.

I still have the original comic from 1989. I actually have every Dark Horse Predator comic they made up until somewhere in the mid 2000's. I always liked that they used the brother of Dutch, since they could not use Arnold's character, and I think this comic had to be some base for the Predator 2 movie. The story is called Concrete Jungle, set in a city, and the main character is a police Lt.
