Pretty good points on the subtle differences between the body types on the female Legends, some of which I hadn't noticed before (which I was more intuitive on as opposed to analytical about when observing them.) I will often part swap when making customs, but the one part I absolutely hate to swap is that torso piece, because at least in my experiences, once you take it off, it's nearly impossible to get it back on (and stay) the way it was, not to mention I've destroyed a couple of them just trying to get them apart, no matter how much heat I use. I just don't chance it anymore. Speaking of swapping parts, I need to find a better fit for Betsy's hands, as she has a really hard time gripping DP's sword...otherwise I could have done a bit more with these shots... I mean, we're friends...right? Uhhmm....peace offering!?!" http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j1...115_164933.jpg "Oh Wade...you always did know how to put a smile on a lady's face..." You could try the Thndra/Valkyrie hands. They're pretty much the only straight gripping, non trigger finger hands for the lady legends, cause Mockingbird's hand have her glove details attached

I feel like we're eventually going to get a Jim Lee era Psylocke as a single carded figure in the next year or so. There's obviously a lot of demand and she was in most if the advertising for X-Men: Apocalypse even though she had a small part in the movie. I've been holding off on buying the old Toy Biz Psylocke because she's always looked a little off to me and I don't think I'll take the time to do a custom because as soon as I do, Hasbro will announce an official Psylocke that will make my custom look bad.
|
Most of Toy Biz's female figures tended to be rather middling.
Anyone wonder if we'll get some more Inhumans figures now that they're getting a TV show? Maybe a comic Lockjaw as a BAF? |

You can do a rather easy (if a bit lazy) custom of Psylocke using the ToyBiz figure by swapping out the rather freakish looking head with Silk's alternate, and it will still make a decent placeholder for the time being. While ToyBiz did use some ugly body molds over the years, that one is passable and still features some really functional and awesome articulation points about it. http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j1...9c9764124b.jpg Not the greatest looking, but a decent placeholder that won't break the bank in the meantime... |
You know, if you're halfway decent at matching paint tone (for the skin) you could easily turn the newer, less vomit inducing, female mold into something that'd work. Hell, even the body that Silk head came with would probably work in this case. All you'd really need is the waist sash.

My main question/hope is are we going to see offers of characters from 90s X-Force/New Mutants/Generation X/X-Factor and other assorted high profile if not core characters like Forge, Banshee, Rachel, |

I never thought this would ever happen:
Black Panther for $12 https://www.walmart.com/ip/Marvel-6-...igure/47144525 Scarlet Witch for $18 https://www.walmart.com/ip/Marvel-6-...Witch/47144542 I already have them both thanks to Walmart, but two highly sought after MCU figures for only $30! I bet the people that paid $100 - $50 for BP are beating their heads on the wall right now. |

It took me longer than I had anticipated, but I just finished reading Age of Apocalypse. :PBJ
I highly enjoyed it. It wasn't perfect and there were areas that didn't make sense due to poor artwork and story telling (especially Generation Next), but the end product was very well done. I loved getting to see what the universe was like if Apocalypse had taken it over. The different personalities of the characters were interesting, but it was Beast that shocked me the most. He was completely different compared to everyone else. I would really love to have seen him have his own miniseries in that universe. Cyclops was kind of bad ass, but I do feel it was quite convenient that him and Jean still had something together. My favorite character in this universe is probably Nate. I really enjoyed his story the most and he was an interesting charcter despite it not being possible for him to have been born given that Madelynn never existed. On the negative side, I do wish there was actually some backstory to Holocaust and the Sugarman, especially the Sugarman. I mean, Holocaust can get away with just being the son of Apocalypse, although I would like to know more about him. Is that his body or just a suit of armor? If that is really just a suite of armor, what happened to his body? As for the Sugarman, I just don't get him or the Generation Next comic. Who the hell were any of these people? What was up with the dude with the long hair and nose piercing? Also, Sugarman jumped into the Mkraan Crystal and we don't see his fate, he just disappears. God did he suck. I feel like he was created to be a Clown wannabe even though he was no where near the level of awesomeness that is Violator. There is a lot more I could talk about, but I'm still digesting it all, so I'm going to end it here. Overall, I give it a 3.5/5 stars and I feel like my adventure into the X-Men universe is now truly complete. Of course I'm not going to stop there though as I do have a friends copy of House of M sitting on my shelf to read along with those two Uncanny books I picked up for a few dollars a few months ago. |
