I really want to see what's coming for IM3 if next year follows this years pattern then anything they show tonight or tomorrow would be 13+ months away

Iceman 07-14-2012 10:25 AM

I like how the Inhumans pack says 8/12. I hope that's when we actually get it. Just a few weeks ago we were wondering if it would see the light of day.

Trainwreck 07-14-2012 10:54 AM

Generally companies wait until the reveals at the panels before putting the new stuff out at the booth. The times just depend on when the panel reveals are. The schedule is on the Comic-Con website.

the panel is going on now, the pics from it will be available right after according to what was said here.

I am really hoping for that MOE Goliath. I hope they dont blue ball us on that incredible looking black knight from last year.

Tarooster 07-14-2012 01:37 PM

Was the panel at 4 eastern or 4 pacific?

bmorr 07-14-2012 01:43 PM

I would assume 4 pacific all considering.

I copied the time and description from the official website:

4:00-5:00 Hasbro: Marvel—Adam Biehl (senior director, global Marvel line at Hasbro), Jesse Falcon (licensing director, Marvel), Dwight Stall (senior Marvel product design manager, Hasbro) and Kristin Hamilton (senior manager, global Marvel line at Hasbro), discuss Hasbro's popular Marvel Legends, Marvel Universe, The Avengers, The Amazing Spider-Man, and Marvel Bonka Zonks toy lines. Attendees will also get a sneak peek at upcoming, never-before-seen action figures. Adam, Jesse, Dwight and Kristin will also host some Q&A for your burning Marvel action figure questions! I'm going to be at Roller Derby with my wife when all the reveals come out. It's incredibly nerdy sounding but I will be so excited to come home and get online!

This is hilarious to me for some reason. Remember where we are.

mikefavata 07-14-2012 04:56 PM

Bump.

bitman2 07-14-2012 05:03 PM

Well that panel sucked,MU difinitely not a Hasbro priority.

Actually, I'm interpreting this completely different. They are trying to generate excitement about Legends as it is the newer line. MU was mostly put on display ahead of time.

What was abandoned was the Avengers line. Not even a mention?

Snowflakian 07-14-2012 05:10 PM

Well, it looks like the real future will have to wait until either NYCC, Toyfair 2013, or SDCC 2013. The Marvel movie figures have caused a sort of 'stockpile' of waves and variants they still want to get out first. That's fine with me so long as they get widespread releases!

More team packs is definitely a good sign though that there's retailer interest still. With more marvel movies coming up, it's also a safe way to make sure figures reach retail since they can be slotted in under whatever film at the time it seems.

So all in all, it looks like the future for MU is safe for the next year or 2, but the announcement of IM3 being legends and not the IM2 scale does have me worried a shade.

bitman2 07-14-2012 05:10 PM

Wake up and smell the coffee. Vonner was the one pushing this line. If it was a Priority to them he would never have been let go.

Tarooster 07-14-2012 05:10 PM

But you have tov think, if the figures shown last year still haven't hit retail then how could they show almost nothing this year? Yes they're backed up but they should've given the loyal fans a lot more than they did just to give them confidence in the line.

But...people only quote you if you yell 'THE SKY IS FALLING!!!"

Thanks for the info- it matches the huge amount of upcoming product for MU that has yet to be released.

decepticon_mark 07-14-2012 05:34 PM

Maybe MU isn't being cancelled BUT with the Hasbro reps at the con wanting to talk more about ML, then we're going to be in the same boat as we were with the movie lines. AFterall wasn't that one of their excuses for the MU situation, the movie lines were given priority by them and the stores? Well, looks like the Avengers and Spiderman lines may be going down but MU is still the red headed step child thanks to ML.
