coincidentally...i saw them in Think Geek today for the first time.

and RE: loyal subjects... i don't know WHY it bothers me like that...but i don't care for really any SF characters that AREN'T player 1 colors.

I will say..after staring at my SH figuarts SF figs... (in comparison to my StormCollectibles)...i am seriously considering dropping the SH line.
Which would only SUPER SUCK if like 4 years from now it's still going and has a great lineup!

Hey, there is a reason to your madness. I was just strolling along and saw this. And I've been on the fence about which SF line I want to jump into. I really want to keep them all in 1:12, (I'm in the Storm Collectibles MK line) but frankly I like the Figuarts Ryu a little better. i think it is more accurate to the original likeness. But I'm still not sure. I know I could get both but I don't have that muh shelf space and most of my money is going to Mezco's 1:12 line at the moment so I have to be pragmatic and stretch my dollars. Any thoughts on why you're liking the SC line more?

the funny thing is...from the early pictures..i wasn't fond of the Storm Collectibles line at all.
Mind you i'm a huge SF fan so my motives for buying both was. 'we don't know which line will last, and end up covering a lot of characters in the lineup.
with that being said..i jumped into both..
BUT THEY'RE EFFING EXPENSIVE. AND I DON'T WANT to keep dropping 50.00 + on a single damn figure.

so fast forward until i actually have a few SC SF figures in my possession...and i'm loving these big bulky bastards.
now i look at my Figuarts ryu and chun li and they look...puny, not to say they're not good...because they are but...ehhh..

Also as I've been eyeballing the MK line from SC. They'll scale perfectly with the SF figs.

the real issue here is cost. but again...i want the line that has a great lineup of characters in the end.

initially i said (and probably said it here) that I'd just buy both..and sell off whichever ended up sucking.
but i really don't see myself selling the Storm figs.
i have Bison, Ryu, Hot Ryu, and Ken. I saw a review of big, pricey, Zandief yesterday and cant' wait to get him.

i keep looking at my pre-order for Cammy and the other dude from Figuarts and am contemplating cancelling them...but i KNOW I'd buy Akuma from the SH line anyway. i mean...it's akuma.

i also do not like the look of the SFV SC Akuma, looking like Lion King...but oh well..

Sidenote: so glad i was able to steer clear of the Mezco 1:12 line. smh...the less i like the better!!!

The SC MK line is phenomenal. They became some of my favorites. The fatality accessories really make them extra special. I have a friend with both SC lines (SF and MK,) and the SF figures still look a bit big next to them though. I'm not sure but they might be on the larger side of 1:12 or out of scale outright. I haven't held them in my hand yet, though.

But yes, now that you remind me, that was another factor why I'm sitll on the fence. I really do prefer the original Akuma design over the new SFV one that SC replicated. And the new SH Figuarts Akuma was just announced and it looks really good.

The MEzco line has some hit n misses. I've limited myself to Marvel and just some characters. The Punisher is a must have for any 1:12 enthusiast, the DD is also worth it, and the new Deadpools look promising. I highly recommend the line, but yeah, it's another dark, dark (money pit) hole. Even worse than SC's since theyre at $80 /ea. And the Punisher is obviously well above that now in the re-seller market.


But anyway, I really like the SC SF figures too. The Bison looks amazing. My friend described its feel as a NECA without stiff joins and with import-quality articulation. Do you think thats accurate?

yeah that does sound about right. they LOOK good like some other lines..and are very pose-able, and have good alt accessories. I like the use of the mix of hard and soft plastics.
Great for static or action poses or action figure photography.

side note: if i had some extra cash now (which i don't) i'd buy that noob saibot!!

Yeah, TBH, Storm Collectibles is killing it. I dont have the Noob Saibot, I think I saw it for $75 on BBTS, but I decided to pre order the Reptile instead. But the NS comes with the same exact accessories as Scorpion, and plus there's Shao Kahn coming down the pipeline, so I gotta stretch my dollars.

Shao Kahn is a must must must must MUST own!! i mean...look at him!!

Im waiting on my box of loyal subjects Street Fighter figs. If anyone else is collecting them and wants to trade when they come out (since they are blind bags), hollar at me. Because I'm not interested in anything but Player 1 colors. I'll trade off anything else including rare whatevers...

If you happen to get an extra Gief or Sagat I am your man for a trade, but they at both chases and chances of getting 2 of either is pretty slim. Also it really depends on where you ordered them from, Hot topic and Walmart are the only ones I can find in stores, but I was told that comic stores got the same case as EE and BBTS so that is case you want! Either way good luck with your pulls and hopefully you don't end up with too many dupes

yups, those are the one's I'm getting. My pre-order is with BBTS. Yeah it'd be great to get all the ones i want..and the one's you DON'T get...well it just makes your desire to get them that much more. I'll def let you know what i get for extras.

They are the same size as the DC Lil Bombshells. 3 inch I think. I got a case a little while back and got only 1 duplicate of Sakura. I got the Chase Psycho(Purple)Bison but did not get the Evil Ryu. The 2 chases are really expensive in the secondary market since it seem like no one is getting these.

Man I really want that Guile, but even the commons fetch a pretty penny since they are all pretty much one per case. I will probably just pay the $15 people are asking and avoid the hunt and letdown of getting everyone else first then Guile.

Dude you got that lion king Akuma!?!?

I recently read the origins of Akuma and Gouken and it is pretty hard to believe an American video game Magazine made such an impact on the franchise, simply because of a poor translation and a ridiculous April Fool's joke.

Plus it wasn't revealed to be a joke until December of that same year! People spent months trying to do the craziest thing I have ever heard of in a fighting game.

I do like that all of their moves were described in detail prior to the characters even existing. Cool of Capcom to run with it.

I totally want this but, I find the rubbery torso to be really off putting.

Actually,might get this one after all. Other than some of the materials and the price, everything about that figure is perfect. I think he'd look good with my Neca figures...the scale might not be accurate but he'll still be bigger so good enough for me.
